SCS Strategic Plan Mission Statement We proclaim Jesus Christ in all aspects of our program, emphasizing academic excellence and biblical Christian values, partnering with parents and the Church to prepare godly young men and women so that they may impact their world for Christ. Colossians 1:28 Vision Through God s grace, Seattle Christian Schools will model excellence as the leader in Christian education for the Pacific Northwest. Core Purpose Educating Minds o We provide a quality academic education reflecting the Biblical, Christian Worldview. Nurturing Hearts o We develop and strengthen Christ-like character partnering with the family and the church. Honoring Christ o We honor Christ in all of our activities and actions, recognizing Him as Lord.

Initiative I Pursue excellence in our educational programs Increase student use of technology in learning Partner with community and business for career awareness and learning support opportunities Use data to tailor instruction Target best practices in teaching methodology Engage in structured faculty collaboration focused on student learning and success o Provide ongoing opportunities for teachers to discuss strategies to meet student needs o Use student performance data (grades, MAP testing, etc.) to guide collaboration and to inform instructional decisions Maintain, evaluate, and revise current curriculum maps to meet the needs of students Begin implementation of K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program developed last year o Align current science and math curriculum with educational standards o Develop and implement engaging, hands-on learning activities at all grade levels o Expand opportunities for students to use technology as a meaningful and intentional part of learning o Evaluate and revise STEM program to meet needs of students

Initiative II Enhance spiritual Life Continually embrace the mission, vision, purpose and core values Develop, strengthen and nurture transformation in the SCS community Purposefully provide opportunities to love God and love others (Matthew 22:36) Build and strengthen community within walls of school o Provide classroom opportunities for students to interact with each other across grade levels o Encourage broad participation (K-12 students, families, community) in school activities and events -Chapels -Sporting events and pep assemblies -School events Provide opportunities for students to serve and impact community outside the walls of school o Offer community service opportunities for students and families o Make strategic connections with individuals and organizations in immediate community

Initiative III Promote professional development and investment in staff Maximize professional development opportunities Align professional development with student learning needs Cultivate K-12 cohesiveness Pilot multiple forms of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) this year to evaluate and implement comprehensively next year o Peer observation and coaching o Small-group process learning circles o All-staff EdCamps Provide opportunities for teachers to train and learn from each other o Use staff development days to facilitate in-house professional development Designate financial resources and Title II funding for professional development related to school goals o Content area training o Engaging instructional practices o Data-driven instruction o Assessment

Initiative IV Enhance long term economic vitality and viability according to Biblical principles Grow marketing initiatives to enhance enrollment Expand and diversify funding sources Continue effective stewardship Increase student enrollment o Grow new student enrollment by 10% o Retain current student reenrollment at 92% Utilize compelling media to advertise and highlight school excellence o Improve media efforts targeted to increase middle school enrollment o Utilize student and parent testimonies to communicate value o Showcase vital programs and activities to attract new families o Improve and continually enhance website content Advertise to new churches and communities o Reach out to local international churches o Expand relationships with new preschools, feeder schools, and other local Christian Schools o Expand marketing efforts to Christian households in targeted geographic areas
