SCS Strategic Plan Mission Statement We proclaim Jesus Christ in all aspects of our program, emphasizing academic excellence and biblical Christian values, partnering with parents and the Church to prepare godly young men and women so that they may impact their world for Christ. Initiative I Pursue excellence in our educational programs Increase student use of technology in learning Partner with community and business for career awareness and learning support opportunities Use data to tailor instruction Target best practices in teaching methodology Engage in structured faculty collaboration focused on student learning and success o Provide ongoing opportunities for teachers to discuss strategies to meet student needs o Use student performance data (grades, MAP testing, etc.) to guide collaboration and to inform instructional decisions Maintain, evaluate, and revise current curriculum maps to meet the needs of students Begin implementation of K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program developed last year o Align current science and math curriculum with educational standards o Develop and implement engaging, hands-on learning activities at all grade levels o Expand opportunities for students to use technology as a meaningful and intentional part of learning o Evaluate and revise STEM program to meet needs of students
Initiative II Enhance spiritual Life Continually embrace the mission, vision, purpose and core values Develop, strengthen and nurture transformation in the SCS community Purposefully provide opportunities to love God and love others (Matthew 22:36) Build and strengthen community within walls of school o Provide classroom opportunities for students to interact with each other across grade levels o Encourage broad participation (K-12 students, families, community) in school activities and events -Chapels -Sporting events and pep assemblies -School events Provide opportunities for students to serve and impact community outside the walls of school o Offer community service opportunities for students and families o Make strategic connections with individuals and organizations in immediate community
