Determine AMEDD Applicant Eligibility TASK: Determine AMEDD Application Eligibility CONDITION: Given ARNG AMEDD SOP, NGR (AR) 600-100, AR 135-101, USAREC Reg 601-37, AR 40-501, AR 600-9, AR 135-7, All States Incentive Policy, and a Student Handout STANDARDS: Score a minimum of 70% on a reference based written examination.

Types of Waivers (1of3) Age/age-in-grade -Must be submitted through DCA. Additionally, a paper copy of approval will be requested through the NGB-ASM.AC5 e-mail account Retirement -All applicants must be able to complete 20yrs of AFS by age 60 to qualify for retirement; 10yrs of which must be active federal commissioned service (AFCS), or submit a statement of waiver of age (AR 135-101) 2-1a.(4)(a) Medical -(ARNG-CSG) per AR 40-501, AMEDD SOP

Age Waivers (2of2) MRD extensions All non-prior service personnel 53 and over will require an MRD extension approved through ARNG-HRH-O prior to processing a packet through DCA All personnel 59 years of age and older will require an MRD extension approved through ARNG-HRH-O, regardless of prior service status.

Ecclesiastical Endorsement All Chaplains are required to have on file with OCCH an Ecclesiastical Endorsement (DD Form 2088) submitted for them by an AFCB Listed Endorsing Agent (goes to the Army CoCsoffice) Approved endorsers can be found at http://prhome.defense.gov/mpp/chaplains% 20BOARD/endorsements.aspx You cannotload the DD2088 (EE) in DCA Age AR 135-100,1-6, Table 1-1 -"less than 40". Waiver Authority (AR 135-100,1-8, 2-1): 1) "Less than 47" with at least three years of prior AFS or creditable Reserve service, at the time of commissioning. 2) "Less than 45" for those without prior service, at the time of commissioning. 3) 10 USC 1251 CHs can serve through age 67 birthday. CH Eligibility Education Undergrad of 120 hours (any subject) from an accredited institution Masters: DODI 1304.28 states that the 72 hour minimum must be a singular degree of at least the minimum required hours: -36 hours of the 72 must be of specific academic content -An Academic Evaluation Worksheet (AEW) is necessary for the applicant to determine if their coursework meets requirements (on GKO portal) Unaccredited undergraduate degrees are washed if applicant is enrolled in an accredited graduate program Unaccredited Masters degrees must have 3 wash letters from accredited institutions No advance credit, life experience credit, or credit for CHBOLC (grad credit only!!)

Appointment Grade AR 135-100, 3-7; AR 600-8-29,1-42; AR 601-100, 2-4 -applicants will be appointed in the proper grade as allowed by law and regulations DA PAM 165-17, 2-13 and Table 2-1 provides a summation of the standard RC appointment will not exceed MAJ/O-4 (RA will not exceed CPT/O-3) Medical AR 40-501, 2; AR 135-100, 1-6; AR 600-9, Table 1; AR 601-100, 1-5 All applicants must be certified as being physically fit for commissioning by a military medical authority Waivers: AR 40-501,1-6 -Waiver authority for ARNG is NGB Surgeon CH Eligibility Moral & RE Code AR 135-100, 1-6, AR 601-100, 1-12 - "applicant must be of good moral character" Waiver Authority (AR 135-100, 1-8; AR 601-100, 1-13): -Financial: *Bankruptcies -must be at least one (1) year since final disposition. *Delinquencies of 90 days or more/garnishments/repossessions -must be at least one (1) year since last occurrence. -Legal: *Arrests and Convictions -conviction that results in no more than 6 months incarceration; must have taken place at least 10 years ago or before the applicant turned 26 years old. *Minor Violations -may not Involve incarceration or more than $250 in fines. RE Code: Request waiver but circumstances surrounding discharge with a bar to re-entry must not negatively impact applicant.

CC Eligibility Ecclesiastical Endorsement CCs DO NOTrequire a DD2088 Instead of an Ecclesiastical Endorsement (EE) CCs require an Ecclesiastical Approval (EA). This is a memo format and the ecclesiastical endorsers use a standard format You cannotload the DD2088 (EE) in DCA CC Age AR 135-100, 1-6,Table 1-1-"less than 34 Waiver Authority (AR 135 1 OQ,1-8, 2-1): 1) "Less than 40" at the time of commissioning. with or without prior service. 2) No exceptions to policy need be submitted.
