QAD Business Intelligence Overview Demonstration Guide May 2015 BI 3.11

Overview This demonstration shows how QAD Business Intelligence supports the vision of the Effective Enterprise; where every business process is working at peak efficiency and perfectly aligned to the company s strategic goals. QAD Analytics QAD Business Intelligence Key Points Enabling the Effective Enterprise

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) define what the Effective Enterprise means to your company, mapping your company s vision, strategy and goals to specific measurements that will help you drive efficiency and identify improvements in the business process. QAD has identified ten high level KPIs focused on the main areas of performance that manufacturers need to measure to ensure their businesses are working at peak efficiency. Business Intelligence Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Key Points QAD Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Framework o 10 high-level KPIs

Related Metrics Each high-level KPI is a summarized composite measure from comprehensive sets of underlying metrics, or secondary metrics. Lower-level business processes and practices affect each of these secondary metrics. For example, Customer Service metrics include Delivery in Full On Time (DIFOT), Percentage of Backorders, Average Order Cycle Time, Order Management Costs, etcetera. Manufacturing Efficiency metrics include Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Capacity Utilization, Throughput Ratio, Scrap & Yield Ratio, etcetera. Additional metrics and the relative importance of each one will depend on your definition of the Effective Enterprise. You can monitor performance against your defined metrics using a combination of Business Intelligence Dashboards, Operational Metrics, Browses and Reports. Business Intelligence Related Metrics Delivery in Full On Time Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Percentage of Backorders Capacity Utilization Average Order Cycle Time Throughput Ratio Order Management Costs Scrap & Yield Ratio KPI Metrics KPI Metrics Key Points Standard metrics Importance varies by company

Enabling Solution QAD Business Intelligence transforms operational data into valuable information that provides insight into your business and performance supporting both strategic and tactical-decision making building on the solid base of operational analytics provided by QAD Enterprise Application. It helps you improve performance against your key metrics by gathering timely, accurate information from across your global enterprise, with built-in dashboards for monitoring performance; analytics that help you spot trends and identify issues; and collaboration tools that help you share critical information and leverage your extended team to make the best decisions. No longer do decisions have to wait for someone to collect and reconcile data, then update a spreadsheet; nor do you have to wait for IT resources to develop the reports you need. Using Business Intelligence, all of your decision makers will have access to the very latest information, free to focus their time on critical analysis and decision-making, not administration! Solution Components QAD s Business Intelligence solution has three main components. Data Warehouse: The Data Warehouse consolidates all your information, from QAD and non-qad sources, performs any necessary conversions (dates, currency) and optimizes it for simple, fast access. Modules: QAD offers pre-defined modules, such as Order Management, with graphical dashboards and data analysis organized by function. Dashboards are set up to monitor standard KPI s for each functional area and pre-defined Excel spreadsheets (complete with pivot tables) simplify analysis. These make it easy for users to access information without requiring them to formulate complex database queries or bring in programming resources. Collaborative Portal: The Collaborative Portal allows business users to review and share information, securely over the internet, actively collaborating in the decision-making process. This means that no matter where you are, if you have the appropriate security, your critical performance measurements are available for your review. Depending on your logon, Business Intelligence presents you with a customized list of dashboards, often determined based on your responsibilities or role. Demo 1. How QAD saves money and reduces implementation time QAD Modules It is important to note that you do not have to develop these dashboards from scratch. QAD delivers Business Intelligence with a number of pre-built dashboards for the QAD Modules EAM Plant Maintenance, Financials, Operations, Order Management, Service and Support Management, and Transportation Management. You do not have to worry about the data or figure out how to measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). QAD does this for you, using our knowledge of the software and your industry to provide pre-configured dashboards that include the most relevant KPI s. You can provide decision-makers access to any or all of these dashboards, or combine the critical metrics into customized dashboards specific for each user or role. Demo 1. Highlight Dashboard > QAD Standard Key Points Select dashboard from menu o o Pre-built dashboards by module Custom dashboards Pre-Built Dashboards o o o o o o EAM Plant Maintenance Financials Order Management Operations SSM Transportation Management

Pre-Built Dashboards Every QAD Module includes a number of dashboards, each focused on a particular area of performance measurement. Each user or functional area may access a different set of dashboards, customized to show just the data they need. For example, Finance may choose the Accounts Payable Dashboard to review the status of payables and identify critical suppliers. Your Plant Manager may choose the Operations Dashboard to monitory inventory and production metrics, including critical measurements like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Demo 1. Highlight Dashboard > QAD Standard > Financials 2. Click EE Accounts Payable 3. Highlight Dashboard > QAD Standard > Operations

4. Select Capacity Planning and Control Production Lines Key Points Dashboards by user or role, customizable by user Multiple dashboards per user

How QAD enables root cause analysis Drill-Down These dashboards have shown a few examples of the different things you can have on a dashboard. Visual items include high-impact graphics - pie charts, bar charts, grids focusing management attention on critical issues and helping to quickly identify trends. However, Business Intelligence dashboards do not stop there. If you have a concern or want to find out more detail about any item, usually you just need to click it to find the underlying detail. In this example, the drill-down shows you how OEE was calculated, and then allows you to drill down right to the individual transactions. If you need to do further analysis of this data, you have the option to generate a.pdf file or to export this report to an Excel spreadsheet. In the example of the Inventory Management dashboard, a drill down shows another graphic, followed by details in a grid. These options are determined based on your needs, using dashboards that are completely customizable without calling a programmer! Demo 1. In Overall Equipment Effectiveness by Site, click the green bar in period 2/29/2012 2. Click Performance Ratio 0.342 3. Click Actual Run Time 55.90

How QAD encourages collaboration for improved decision making Collaboration Forums As an executive, you might be concerned that finished goods inventory seems excessively high for this business unit, and you may want to talk with others about this. Simply click Collaborate and choose a discussion forum. Scan the list to see if anyone else has commented about this, and if not, post your comment along with a copy of this graph, ensuring everyone who comments is looking at exactly what you are seeing. Notice that when you return to the dashboard, you will see a collaborate icon attached to the graph indicating there are on-going discussions about this item. Demo 1. Click Arrow icon to return to graph format 2. Right-click Inventory OH for Product Line in Site title bar

How QAD supports continuous improvement Customized Dashboards & Visual Items The last steps in the closed-loop decision-making process are to implement changes and measure results. You can make this simple by setting up a dashboard or report specifically focused on a particular area. For example, you may wish to monitor inventory levels, so you could set up a new visual item that shows this, or use an existing graph or chart, and then add it to your dashboard. Dashboards are simply collections of what we call Visual Items charts, grids or other display items. If you want to create a new dashboard or add something to your dashboard just open the dashboard, select a visual item and drag-and-drop this item onto your dashboard. That is all there is to it!
