Installation Remove all packing materials from the PSS-108/110 MKII. Check that all foam and plastic padding is removed. Connect all cables. Always disconnect from electric mains power supply before cleaning or servicing. Damages caused by non-observance are not subject to warranty. Set Up and Operation Before plugging the unit in, always make sure that the power supply matches the product specification voltage. The power supply is printed on the back of the device. Do not attempt to operate an 115V specification product on 230V power, or vice versa. Connections: 01) Turn off the power (31) switch. 02) Connect the PSS to your other devices you plan on using. CAUTION: Be sure that the power is off, when connecting the cables. Operating on AC power Make sure the power (31) switch is in the Off position and connect the power cable. Switch the power (31) switch in the On position to run the PSS. The power (16) LED will light red. Operating on battery power Do not connect the power cable. Switch the power (31) switch to the On position to run the device. Switch the power (31) switch to the Off position if you re pausing, to save your batteries. If the batteries are fully charged, the PSS can run on battery power for approximately 3-5 hours, depending on the volume level. If the batteries run low and/or the orange LED of the battery level indicator (13) lights up, please turn the PSS Off and recharge the battery. Note: The battery in the PSS should not be fully depleted. Charge it when it is low, but do not let it drain fully. On the other hand, constant top off charging of a battery is never good. Any charging adds heat and unfortunately heat degrades a battery. There is no escaping that. Storage in a cool place slows the aging process of lithium-ion (and other chemistries). Manufacturers recommend storage temperatures of 15 C. Charging the built in batteries Make sure the power (31) switch is in Off position and connect the power cable. Switch the power (31) switch to the On position to charge the PSS s internal batteries. While the PSS is charging, the red recharge (15) LED will light red. Charge the batteries for at least 8 hours. If the batteries are fully charged, the red recharge (15) LED lights up continuously. 10

USB/MP-3 Operations MP3 USB cards MP3 is an audio compression mode using level 3 of the international MPEG standard, whereby the sound signal is compressed at the ratio of 12:1. An MP3 disc can record music for playback over 600 minutes or record over 170 songs in MP3 sound quality. An USB stick or SD/MMC card can record even more. Obviously the PSS series works also with normal audio CD s. The file system should be FAT16 or FAT32. The maximum capacity is 64 Gb. Selecting Tracks Push the (27) or (23) button to move to a higher or lower track. When a new track is selected during playback, playback begins as soon as the skip search operation is completed. If the (27) button is pushed while at the last track, the first track is selected. In the same way, if the (23) button is pushed while at the first track, the last track will be selected. Starting Playback Push the (29) button during the pause or stop condition to start playback. Pausing Push the (29) button to switch between play and pause. Playback resumes when the (29) button is pushed again. Stop Playback Push the (30) button during playback to stop playback. USB Player Volume Increase Press the VOL+ (24) button to increase the volume. USB Player Volume Decrease Press the VOL- (28) button key to decrease the volume. 11

Operation of the wireless microphones Inserting/replacing the battery We recommend powering the microphone by a 9V PP3 alkaline battery. Push down (1) the cover in the direction of the arrow. Slide (2) the cover in the direction of the arrow. Insert the battery. Please observe correct polarity when inserting the battery. Close and lock the battery cover. Tips for achieving maximum performance. Make sure you can always see a receiver antenna from the transmitter position. Keep the distance from transmitter to receiver antenna as short as possible. Point the receiver antennas away from each other at 45 degrees angle from vertical position. Avoid placing the receiver antennas near metal surfaces and obstructions. Replace battery as soon as low battery LED lights. Perform a walk-through before performance or presentation. If dead spots are found, adjust the location of the receiver. If dead spots remain, mark the dead spots and avoid them. 12
