Program Options Verification/Certificate of Completion: Certificate awarded by the department for a defined course(s). No general education required. Certificate of Achievement: Programs in occupational or technical areas provide real-world training in job skills. No general education required. Associate in Arts Degree: Two-year college degree which includes general education courses and a major; usually 20 courses.
Ways to Earn CTE College Credit for High School Students Dual or Concurrent Enrollment Community college CTE courses are taken while enrolled in high school Receive college credit for the courses completed Requires a recommendation from their principal (or high school counselor) and parental consent Students may not enroll in courses available at their high school, or classes meant to alleviate a high school deficiency Policies and procedures vary among community colleges
