Contact Nathan Williams 541 278 5796 Project title Serving the Disadvantaged Through Public Computer Centers in Rural Northeastern Oregon Grant request $ 2,569,191 Description Blue Mountain Community College will establish public computer centers in five dispersed communities in order to expand access to broadband services across rural northeastern Oregon. The centers will provide disadvantaged populations with unprecedented opportunities for education, job skills training, job searches, and global information and networking. 12 Applicant Blue Mountain Community College, Pendleton, Ore. Residents will receive innovative broadband training taught by professional educators and delivered through 42 community anchor institutions equipped with wireless LAN.
