System Requirements Requirements under Windows X86 architecture only. Approximately 2 MB of hard disk space. Depending on version of Windows and your local system security policy you may require system administrative privileges to install SendMIME as the SendMIME executable is installed into your WINDOWS path so that it can be called from any current working directory. Installation Installation under Windows (all versions) ** If you have any problems please contact our support at support@sendmime.com. Download the latest installer from www.sendmime.com. Double click on the installer executable in the folder where you downloaded. You must read and accept the SendMIME License Agreement in order to install and use SendMIME Pro. Select the folder where you want to install the application files. The default is your system Program Files folder in a subdirectory named SendMIME Pro. Usage Guide (Note: All command options are case sensitive) Usage: sendmime -S <your SMTP MTA> -f user@domain.com -t user@domain.com "Your subject." -m "Your message " -a "c:\path\to\file1.ext,c:\path\to\file2.ext,..." Option Parameter -reg This option does not accept any parameters and will walk you through the process of installing the registration key you received by e-mail when you purchased this product. -h This option does not accept any parameters and when present in the command displays the SendMIME help message and exits the program without any further processing. -l This option does not accept any parameters and when present in the command displays the SendMIME license agreement. -v This option does not accept any parameters and when present in the command displays the SendMIME version and build numbers. -d This option does not accept any parameters and when present enables debugging. This option cannot be used with the q option. -q This option does not accept any parameters and when present enables quiet mode. This option cannot be used with the d or log options. -log This option requires a parameter of a path to a local file. This option writes all SendMIME output and errors to the specified log file. Please note that the log file will be created if it doesn t exist and overwritten without warning if it already exists. This option cannot be used with the q option. -n This option requires a parameter of an integer. This option will send your message the number of times specified in the integer. Debugging information is minimized when d is used with this option. -r This option does not accept any parameters and when present enables delivery confirmation to all recipients of your message. -i This option requires a parameter of either High, Low or Normal and sets the message importance accordingly. Default is "Normal" when this option is not used or when an invalid parameter is used. -text This option does not accept any parameters and sends the message as plain text - no MIME formatting. This option cannot be used with the a or al options as an SMTP message automatically becomes MIME formatted when a file attachment is added. -S This option requires a parameter of the hostname or IP address of the SMTP MTA to be used to route/deliver the message(s). This option cannot be used with the nomta option and requires a minimum of either t, -c, -b, -tl, -cl or bl to be present. -nomta -auth This option does not accept any parameters and when present will attempt to send the message directly to all recipients domains avoiding the need for a local MTA but still requiring an Internet connection. When this option is used SendMIME will try to determine the local DNS nameservers, lookup the mail exchangers of all recipient domains and send directly to the recipients domain. This option cannot be used with the S or the n options and requires a minimum of either t, -c, -b, -tl, -cl or bl to be present. This option requires a parameter of the senders SMTP logon credentials in the format userid:password. Currently only the SMTP LOGIN authentication method is supported. This option cannot be used with the nomta option. -p This option requires an integer parameter of the port number to be used as the SMTP port specification. The default port 25 is used when this option is not specified. -f This option requires a parameter of the SMTP address the message will be sent from. All RFC822 valid SMTP addresses are acceptable however if the address contains spaces the entire address should be enclosed in double quotes. i.e. to send using a friendly name you could set f to SendMIME Support <support@sendmime.com> SendMIME Pro Installation & Users Guide Page 4 of 6

-reply This option requires a parameter of an SMTP address that the SMTP Reply-To address will be set to. All RFC822 valid SMTP addresses are acceptable however if the address contains spaces the entire address should be enclosed in double quotes. i.e. to send using a friendly name you could set reply to SendMIME Support <support@sendmime.com> -t This option requires a parameter of the SMTP address(es) to send the message to. Use a comma to separate multiple recipients. All RFC822 valid SMTP addresses are acceptable however if the address contains spaces the entire address should be enclosed in double quotes. i.e. to send using a friendly name you could set t to SendMIME Support <support@sendmime.com> -tl This option requires a parameter of the path to a local text file containing list of SMTP TO recipients. The text file should be formatted with one SMTP address per line or optionally with an SMTP address followed by a friendly name per line. i.e.: support@sendmime.com SendMIME Support info@sendmime.com SendMIME Information feedback@sendmime.com SendMIME Feedback This example list would send to all SMTP addresses and display the friendly name in the SMTP TO header. -c This option requires a parameter of the SMTP address(es) to carbon copy the message to. All RFC822 valid SMTP addresses are acceptable however if the address contains spaces the entire address should be enclosed in double quotes. -bl This option requires a parameter of the path to a local text file containing list of SMTP BCC recipients. The text file should be formatted with one SMTP address per line or optionally with an SMTP address followed by a friendly name per line. i.e.: support@sendmime.com SendMIME Support info@sendmime.com SendMIME Information feedback@sendmime.com SendMIME Feedback This example list would send to all SMTP addresses but no addresses would be displayed as BCC recipients are not disclosed. -s This option requires a parameter of the subject text for your message. If your subject text contains more than one word the string must be enclosed in quotes. -m This option requires a parameter of the message text for your message. If your message contains more than one word the string must be enclosed in quotes. -a This option requires a parameter of the fully qualified path to a local file to attach to the message. Commas should separate multiple file attachments and the entire parameter should be enclosed in quotes. i.e. C:\Temp\file1.txt,C:\Temp\file2.txt. -al This option requires a parameter of a path to a local text file containing a list of files to attach to the message.
