The goal of maximizing productivity of different Horticultural crops can only be achieved through adoption of scientifically evolved technology by the farmers. This is possible by effective transfer of technology from Lab to Land. 1.2. People participation is the main criteria for success of any innovative plan/ scheme. In order to achieve the target of 100% people participation, farmers training, awareness of real stakeholders is very much essential in the present context where NHM is being in operation since last 7 years in the state of Orissa and NMMP is also running since last 3 years besides NMMI and MGNREGS which has been launched since last year. Hence, major steps need to be taken up to highlight the facilities / financial assistance provided under it for the benefit of different classes of people so that a tremendous response / participation can be achieved. Farmers/ entrepreneurs/ stakeholders / unemployed youth can be benefited personally thereby indirectly can contribute for increase in production / productivity of different horticultural crops in the state, so that self-sufficiency will be achieved within the period of operation of different schemes like NHM / Micro Irrigation / NMMP / ISOPOM / CDB programmes / State Plan Schemes / RKVY/ MGNREGS etc. in the state.
