2 Agriculture Skill Council of India Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) incorporated on 4th January 2013 as a Section 25 Company under the companies act of Ministry of Corporate Affairs works towards capacity building by bridging gaps and upgrading skills of farmers, farm & wage workers, self employed and extension workers engaged in organised / unorganised Agriculture and Allied industries. Vision Creating a sustainable industry aligned eco system for robust skill & entrepreneurship development in Agriculture & Allied sector LMIS NOS Determining skills/competency standards and qualifications and development of National Occupational Standards (NOS) Preparation and maintenance of skill inventory to facilitate individual choices Development of sector specific skill development plans Standardisation of affiliation and accreditation process Affiliation, accreditation, assessment and certification of Vocational Institutes/ Programmes Plan and execute Training of Trainers (ToT) Promotion of academics of excellence Establishment of a well-structured, sector specific Labour Market Information System (LMIS) to assist planning and delivery of training Adoption of global best practices Objectives Affiliation & Accreditation Assessment & Certification Assessment of needs and demands of the sector Identify Skill gaps, job role availability, Occupational Standards of the workforce and map the information Assist in targeted training delivery Describe the best practices by bringing together skills, knowledge and values An imperative for holistic development Develop and align NOSs to various job roles of the stakeholders Evaluation of training partner's proposal and award affiliation Develop training curriculum based on Specific NOS Assist Training Partners to deliver quality training Develop Standard Operating Procedure for conduct of assessment Develop Assessment criteria and question banks Certification of candidates post successful completion of training

5 PROCESS Affiliation Training Partners (TPs) get affiliated to ASCI to offer courses aligned to QP-NOS. Training Training programs conducted by affiliated Training Partners (TPs). Assessment Assessment Agency conduct assessment ASCI reviews assessment results. Certification ASCI Generates certificate for successful trainees as per the guidelines and format approved and notified by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

Download Assessment Protocol with Application form. Submit to ASCI with all Enclosures Submit Application for NOS based course Due dilligence by ASCI ASCI submits the report to affiliated Committee for Approval Once approved, SSC issues Affiliation certificate to TP and AB

7 Agriculture and Allied Sectors Dairy, Fishery, Poultry, and other Animal Husbandry activities not only provides employment for majority of people to supplement their income from agriculture but are also growing at fast pace to meet changing consumption pattern. Most agricultural workers are engaged in dairy farming, poultry farming, pig farming and fishery etc., as a side business to supplement their income. Qualification packs (QPs) for these sectors have been developed with an increased outcome based training. This is a major thrust area for ASCI. Dairy is an essential component of rural areas of the country. Fisheries supplements livelihood income, besides ensuring food and nutritional support for the family. Dairy farming and cattle rearing are other prominent Agri-Allied activities.
