Seite 1 von 5 Product Description: Introduction Platform and Hardware Support IP Office Control Unit Support IP Office Release 8.0 is supported on the IP500 and IP500 V2 control units only. IP Office Editions & Licensing IP Office Basic Edition Mu-Law and A-Law SD cards in Release 7.0 enable two modes of operation Quick Mode and Standard Mode. For IP Office Release 8.0, these have been re-branded to IP Office Basic Edition (PARTNER Mode and Norstar Mode) and IP Office Basic Edition respectively. When the IP500 V2 is first started, it boots-up in Basic Edition, which offers a simplified management and out of the box operations, two intercom buttons, basic system functionality, voice mailboxes on all telephones, system programming support using the Telephone User Interface (TUI), etc. Basic Edition makes starting and using the system quick and easy. Starting with Release 8.0, users who need full IP Office functionality need to apply the new Essential edition license before using manager to change from Basic Edition to Essential Edition. Once the system reboots, it re-starts in Essential Edition which is the way it looked and felt in Release 7.0. Other licensing changes in Release 8.0 are: Essential Edition license introduction Essential Edition License is a pre-requisite for the Preferred Edition License Preferred Edition is now a pre-requisite for Teleworker, Mobile Worker, and Office Worker and Power User licenses.. Upgrade from any prior release to R8.0 is chargeable New Trial Licenses o Preferred Edition Trial License o Advanced Edition Trial License o Office Worker Trial License o Teleworker Trial License o Power User Trial License o Mobile Worker Trial License o Customer Service Agent Trial License o Customer Service Supervisor Trial License New Upgrade License o Mobile User to Power User Upgrade License o Office Worker to Power User Upgrade License New Hardware Components Avaya IP Office C110 Unified Communications Module (IP500 V2 only) This module can be inserted into any of the 4 slots in the IP500 V2 chassis and provides on-board support for the following applications: o Preferred Edition support for all system users o User Productivity Package Support o Mobility Server support DECT R4 solution replacement modules For customers that have or need a wireless solution, Release 8.0 has a number of updates for the IP Office DECT R4. The new IP DECT Gateway allows connecting digital base stations to the DECT R4 solution with the intent to leverage existing 4-wire cabling. In addition, Avaya is introducing new versions of the IP Base Stations (IPBS) and the Avaya In-building Wireless Server (AIWS). Enhanced Offer for Small Systems with 20 Users or Less Basic Edition The three versions of IP Office that are specifically targeted at this segment, are now branded as follows: IP Office Basic Edition Partner Mode. IP Office Basic Edition Norstar Mode

IP Office Basic Edition These offers are specifically designed to address the Sub-20 user market: Server-free operations voice mail embedded in unit, eliminating the need for external servers. Set it and Forget it system requires virtually no hands-on support. Out of the box operations automatically starts up in a basic telephone system mode. No programming required. Easy system management system can be programmed using Telephone User Interface (TUI) or with IP Office Web Manager commands or the Simplified Manager GUI software for more detailed administration. Investment protection users can start with the Basic Edition of operation, and switch to Essential Edition later (by adding the Essential Edition License) without replacing hardware (excluding PARTNER ETR modules / ETR telephones). Enhancements all three Basic Editions include: IP Office Web Manager IP Office Web Manager is a new browser based management tool designed to simplify the installation and maintenance process by providing an intuitive and user-friendly management tool that runs on most standard browsers. The new IP Office Web Manager eliminates the need to have windows operating system as it can run on any device that supports standard browsers. Upgrading to IP Office Essential Edition from Basic Edition requires a new License (IP Office Essential Edition License). Mobile twinning is no longer supported in IP Office Basic Edition (Supported for all users is included with IP Office Essential Edition) (Call Forward to the mobile device continues to be supported in Basic Edition) The analog trunk disconnect support option that was previously only available in Norstar Mode is now available in all Basic Editions IP Office Basic Edition and Essential Edition voicemail enhancements (see below) Phones Enhancements With IP Office Release 8.0, the following features for phones are introduced or enhanced. High Quality Audio improvement via G.722 support Software version 4.3 for 1100 Series/1200 Series SIP terminal Enhancements New and enhanced version of the IP Office Video Softphone. Improved 96x1 Desk phone upgrade mechanism Support for Avaya 1010 and 1040 Video Conferencing devices Core PBX Features SIP trunking Service Providers continue to broaden their SIP trunk offerings and SME customers are increasingly evaluating and adopting SIP trunks. IP Office R8.0 responds to these market trends, with several new SIP trunk capabilities, designed to simplify and address a wider set of implementation scenarios including: Standard SIP support across all IP Office modes and editions Early Media and Support for PRACK T.38 Fax Fallback Enhanced CLIR Display Directory Name on In-Bound SIP calls Coaching/Silent Intrusion/Whisper page This feature is available in Essential, Edition and enables users on a call to intrude and listen depending on the configuration of the end users, i.e. whether Coaching Intrusion or Whisper Page is used. Intrusion can be done for internal calls or with external calls Basic Edition and Essential Edition Voicemail Enhancements In R8.0, the IP Office Basic Edition and Essential Edition voicemail will support the following new capabilities: Intuity Audix Commands are supported in addition to the currently supported TUI commands. In the Intuity Audix mode, the system shall utilize the same Intuity Audix commands that are currently used on Voicemail Pro, PARTNER Voice Messaging and PARTNER Messaging. Contact Center and Customer Call Reporter IP Office Release 8.0 introduces new features to increase the efficiency of a call center by offering Coaching Intrusion capabilities and by providing several enhanced reporting capabilities to allow the supervisor to create the real time and historical reports that best suit the business. Seite 5 von 5 90-Day Entitlement Period Beginning with IP Office Release 6.0 and continuing with IP Office Release 8.0 and the IPO500 V2 hardware, the system may be upgraded to the latest release of IP Office software (in this case Release 8.0) during the entitlement period; within 90 days after the system was first powered up by the customer. The customer has an entitlement period of 90 days from their initial use of the system to install the version of software they wish to run. Should another release of IP Office become available within 90 days of a system first being used, the customer may move to that release without purchasing an upgrade license. Example: if a customer first powered up the IP Office with Release 7.0, they are entitled to Release 8.0 within the 90 day period without charge for a Release 8.0 upgrade license.
