FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND COMMERCE Program Mission Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Intake 2013-2017 The mission of the Bachelor of Arts in Marketing program is to educate students in the core fundamentals of marketing and prepare them for the jobs that are in high demand in the field. This program challenges students to analyze marketing situations, problem solve complex scenarios, and generate creative solutions in order to provide value in a rapidly changing market place. The marketplace is constantly changing - consumer preferences are shifting and technology is enabling advances in marketing communications and distribution methods. A successful marketing manager in this dynamic environment will need quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and decision-making skills to diagnose problems, identify opportunities, and create effective strategies. Graduates are also able to communicate their analyses and solutions effectively in writing and orally. Program Learning Outcomes Students graduating from our program will be able to: 1. Students are able to identify and analyze marketing problems or opportunities facing an organization 2. Students will demonstrate through hands-on application the key duties and responsibilities that come with managing the marketing process and creating value for the organization and all stakeholders. 3. Students will demonstrate their mastery of multi-channel communication including oral, written and audio/visual. 4. Students will demonstrate a thorough understanding of behavioral theories as they apply to consumers and be able to apply these theories to real-world, hands-on situations. 1
5. Students will be able to integrate customer relationship concepts and theory into planning and recommendations for business. 6. Students demonstrate an ability to apply marketing research methods through their course work as well as in hands-on projects. 7. Students will be able to analyze and integrate evolving technology tools and apply them to marketing problems. 8. Students will be able to develop the quantitative and analytical skills in marketing problem solving. Requirements for Graduation Students must also satisfy the following requirements: Careers Not facing prosecution 142 credits 2.0 GPA National Defense Certificate and a Physical Education Certificate TOEIC 550 or equivalent in validity Bachelor of Arts in Marketing graduates can pursue a marketing career in any business or organization that needs to market its goods and services, including goods manufacturers and service providers such as banks, non-profits, healthcare, hospitality, and legal firms. Marketing graduates also have opportunities to work for agencies that provide marketing services, such as marketing research, branding, social media content, digital marketing, and marketing consulting.
