Set Yourself Up for a Great Career Valencia is one of the premier public institutions in the nation to offer the Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. With additional education at the bachelor s level and professional experience, you will have the opportunity to enhance your job skills and have more exciting career options available to you in this field. Our program offers three distinct concentrations with a wide choice of courses in a variety of different modalities based on your area of interest and career goals. Choose from three concentrations: Computer Systems Electrical/Electronic Systems Lasers and Photonics If you have an A.S. degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, an A.A. degree with engineering coursework, or an associate degree articulated to Valencia s BSECET program, you are qualified for direct admission into this program. Other transfer programs must be formally evaluated by the BSECET department. Further Educational Opportunities With a completed B.S. degree, additional doors to advanced academic programs are opened. These include graduate degree programs in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology. Admission Requirements This is a 2 + 2 program, meaning you must first complete an associate degree before you can transfer into the bachelor s program. Transferring with an A.S. Degree Must complete an A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology, including: 42 credit hours of discipline-specific courses 18 credit hours of general education Transferring with an A.A. ELECTRICAL and COMPUTER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY Electrical/Electronic Systems Concentration Computer Systems Concentration Lasers and Photonics Concentration The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Bachelor s degree offers graduates of an A.S. degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, an A.A. Articulated Pre-Major in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, an A.A. Pre-Major in Engineering, or an articulated specialization in Audio Engineering Technology within the Sound and Music A.S. degree the opportunity to expand their knowledge in advanced modalities and administration. The Electrical and Computer Engineering professions are challenging and growing professions with career opportunities in areas such as electrical engineering or computer engineering. With professional experience and additional education at the baccalaureate level, opportunities for management and education career options are enhanced. Completion of an A.A. degree from a regionally accredited institution with the following course work: MAC X253 or MAC X311 MAC X254 or MAC X312 PHY X053 or PHY X048C/X048L PHY X054 or PHY X049C/X049L Completion of an A.A. or A.S. degree articulated to B.S.E.C.E.T. degree. NOTE: Other Associates or higher degrees must be formally evaluated by the B.S.E.C.E.T. Department for admission.
