Roles and Responsibility The Roles and Responsibility section includes a description of the personnel designed with specific programming responsibilities for gifted education in Davie County. This section outlines the roles and responsibilities for each position and identifies the level of training toward licensure required for each. Director of Instruction AIG Program K- 12 1. Ensures compliance with state and local regulations, policies, and procedures 2. Oversees budget and materials selection 3. Coordinates staff development 4. Provides consultative services for staff and community 5. Evaluates effectiveness and appropriateness of local gifted program 6. Serves as a resource to teachers and AIG specialists on curriculum planning 7. Assists school staff in the development and implementation of differentiated instructional practices 8. Serves as chair of the District AIG Oversight Committee Curriculum Instructional Specialist Licensure and/or Administration Licensure
Gifted Team (Includes counselor, AIG specialist, two or more teachers, and an administrator) School-based Committee 1. Conducts student screening procedures 2. Identifies students requiring 3. Maintains GST records for screening, referral, and placement Guidance Counselor K-12 Counseling Licensure Staff development in characteristics and needs of gifted School Psychologist K-12 1. Provides assessment/evaluation expertise, interpretation, and services 2. Assists GST in recommendation process for grade skipping 3. Assists with plans for academic and emotional needs of gifted as requested School Psychologist Licensure
Principal School Site administration program 1. Oversees gifted services in his/her school 2. Serves or designates administrator to serve on Gifted s Team 3.
