CMS 2.0 Installation Note: Remember that the administrator must be logged in to install for security reasons. Required Software: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 CD Microsoft Operating System CD: 2000/2003 Server Microsoft IIS 5.1 or higher with FTP Server Installed Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Distributable Insight Video Net CMS 2.0 CD Create Default Directories The CMS 2.0 uses four directories for data storage. These directories can be set up to exist anywhere on the network accessible to the CMS 2.0 services. By default the CMS 2.0 directory paths are as follows: Create the Following Directories: C:\Videos\Temp\ C:\Videos\Archives\ C:\Videos\LT\ C:\Videos\Offline To enable network access to these directories they will have to be shared and the full UNC path set up in the Manage Directories Section of the CMS 2.0 GUI. The Manage Directories Section is also where the default directory paths can be changed. Create Upload User Account The CMS 2.0 requires an upload user account to be used for upload management. This is the account the logs in when video files are uploaded through FTP from an Arbitrator client. Create the Following User Username: InsightFTPUser Password: insightadmin Note: This is the defaul username and password. Insight Video Net suggests t that the username and password be alphanumeric for added security.
Installing Microsoft IIS FTP Server The Toughbook Arbitrator uses FTP to upload video files and meta-data files. Microsoft IIS FTP Server is used to facilitate this file transfer along with the CMS 2.0 Beacon. Steps to Install IIS: 1. Navigate to Control Panel. 2. Launch Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel. 3. Launch Add/Remove Windows Components from Add/Remove Programs. 4. Highlight Internet Information Services and Click on Details. 5. Verify that FTP is checked. 6. Apply the changes and Install. 7. In some cases you will be prompted to insert your operating system CD or browse to the location of the I386 directory. 8. When installation is complete restart the FTP service or Reboot the Operating System. Configuring the FTP Server The CMS 2.0 uses the FTP server to place the uploaded video files to a temporary directory for parsing by the CMS 2.0 Parser. Steps to Configure FTP 1. Navigate to Control Panel. 2. Launch Administrative Tools. 3. Launch Internet Information Services. 4. In the Tree Control select the Default FTP Site and Open Properties. 5. Select the Home Directory Tab: a. Set the FTP Site Directory Local Path to the Temp directory path that was created under Create Default Directories section in this manual. C:\Videos\Temp\. b. Check the READ, WRITE, and LOG VISITS boxes. c. Click Apply. 6. Restart the FTP Site. 7. Close Internet Information Services.
Installing the.net Framework The CMS 2.0 requires the.net Framework 1.1. The.NET framework 1.1 can be obtained from the Microsoft Website. We have also included it on the CD. Steps to install the.net Framework 1.1: 1. Launch the DOTNETFX.EXE. 2. Follow the prompts to install the.net Framework 1.1. 3. Reboot the Operating System.
Installing Microsoft SQL Server The CMS 2.0 requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Full Text Search. Steps to install Microsoft SQL Server 2000: 1. At the first installation screen, select Install Database Server 2. Once this is done, the system will begin loading the initial installation. The next screen will be a Welcome Screen confirming the installation. Select the Next button to continue forward. 3. The following screen is a where the settings of the computer name ate listed. Leave the default option Local Computer, selected and proceed to the next step. 4. At the Installation Selection the option Create a new instance of SQL Server should be selected. 5. The Name and Company should be left as they are displayed in the following screen as well. At this point a there will be a Licensing Agreement to complete. 6. At the Installation Definition window select Server and Client Tools, then click next. 7. Make sure default is selected in the upper corner of the window of the following Installation panel. 8. At the Set-up window select a Custom Installation, and add the Full Text Search feature in the menu to the right. Once that box is checked, move on to the next step. 9. At the Services Accounts option, make sure the following options are selected. In the top of the window the Use the same account should be selected as well as the Use the Local System Account in the service settings box on the lower right side of the window. If properly selected the Username and Password boxes will gray out. 10. In the Authentication Window, you need to make sure that Mixed Mode is enabled. 11. Once this done you can simply pass the following windows by clicking the Next button. These options are default set and require no user intervention. The installation will begin as soon as the window has been finished. 12. After the installation is finished, reboot the system. Once this has been completed the SQL installation will be complete.
Installing the CMS 2.0 Server The CMS 2.0 Server consists of two services, a database and a client GUI. Steps to install the CMS 2.0 Server 1. Launch the Setup.exe from the CMS 2.0 Server folder. 2. Accept the default folder path and everyone should be selected. 3. The installation process will show a progress bar. 4. After the progress has completed a database installation window will appear. a. Select Local. b. Select Windows Authentication. c. Make a Database. d. Click Run. e. A Database Script will execute. 5. Reboot the System 6. Three Shortcuts will have been added to the desktop a. CLAPP Licensing Application Shortcut b. CMS 2.0 Shortcut to the GUI. c. File Migration Utility Shortcut to the File Migration Utility. 7. Installation is complete.
Installing the CMS 2.0 Beacon The Beacon is an executable that initiates the upload process from Arbitrator units. Steps to Install the Beacon 1. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\Insight Video-Net\Insight Parser\ Directory. 2. Launch the beaconregeditor application. 3. This will make the necessary registry entries and set up the Beacon executable as a windows service. 4. Accept both registry entries. 5. Configure the Beacon a. Launch the beaconconf.exe i. Set the Query Subnet to the first three octets of the network interface IP address that will be connected to the wireless upload access point. ii. Set the Bind Address to the IP address of the network interface that will be connected to the wireless access point. iii. Keep the default for the Broadcast Interval. iv. Click Apply Changes. v. Click Close. b. Configure the Beacon Service Properties i. Navigate to Control Panel. ii. Open Administrative Tools. iii. Open Services. iv. Navigate to the Insight Beacon. 1. Select Properties. 2. In the Login Tab make sure the interact with desktop check box is checked. 3. Make sure the startup is set to automatic. 4. Close properties. v. Restart the Service.
Licensing the CMS 2.0 The CMS 2.0 must be licensed for the software to run. If the software is in violation the GUI will run but the system will not process any files or information. Steps to License the CMS 2.0 1. Open the CLAPP shortcut on the desktop. 2. A validation string will be generated. 3. Copy the validation string by clicking copy to clipboard. 4. Paste this information in an email and mail it to support@insightvideonet.com. Make sure you detail your company name and installation site in the email as well. 5. Insight Video Net will then reply with a license key. 6. Copy and paste this license key into the license key field and click on submit new license. 7. Close the licenser. 8. Open Control Panel 9. Open Administrative Tools 10. Open Services. 11. Restart or Start the Insight Parser service. 12. If the service starts successfully then the license is valid. If the service does not start then contact support@insightvideonet.com or Insight Video Net technical support at 1-909-373-1800. The event viewer application log will display the error if the service does not start. 13. Configure the Insight Parser service to automatic. 14. Licensing is complete.
Installing the CMS 2.0 Client The CMS 2.0 client is the graphic user interface to the CMS 2.0 server. The CMS 2.0 client by default is installed on the same machine as the CMS 2.0 server. The CMS 2.0 client install is for machines remote to the CMS 2.0 server. Steps to install the CMS 2.0 client: 1. Open the CMS 2.0 Client folder. 2. Launch the Setup.exe 3. Accept the default folder and make sure everyone is selected. 4. The progress bar will complete. 5. A configuration menu will appear: a. 6. Enter the IP of the CMS 2.0 Server machine. 7. Click on Update. 8. The CMS 2.0 Client is installed.
