Support Policy Documents for EBS Customers Oracle Software Technical Support Policy Oracle Lifetime Support Policy: Oracle Applications Oracle E- Business Suite Error Correction Support Policy Generic Oracle Support Terms EBS Support Timelines How EBS Patches Are Produced 20
Concerns About Prior Error Correction Support Policy Note 1195034.1 Version 3: February 2011 This led to One-off patches built for suite-wide EBS RUP minimum baselines. New patches required suite-wide EBS 12.1.3 RUP. Is EBS 12.1.1 desupported? Is EBS 12.1.2 desupported? Exception requests for those releases 21
Release Update Packs Aren t Base Releases Base releases get updates Base releases are 12.0, 12.1 Updates include: Release Update Packs Critical Patch Updates One-off patches 22
Relaxing Prerequisites for EBS 12.1 Patches Note 1195034.1 Version 3: February 2011 Version 4: March 2013 One-off patches built for suite-wide EBS RUP minimum baselines. New patches required suite-wide EBS 12.1.3 RUP. One-off patches built for EBS 12.1 base release. New patches require 12.1.3 Family Packs. 23
Faster, Simpler Patches Assuming 12.1.3 Family Packs as minimum prerequisites means: Patches will be simpler and smaller Patches can be produced more quickly for the vast majority of customers who have already applied the 12.1.3 family packs Patches will be tested by Oracle in environments that are likely to closely match the customer environment Customers can more easily obtain existing patches What if I haven t applied the minimum prerequisites? You are not desupported Oracle will recommend that you apply the minimum prerequisites to consume a one-off patch In cases of urgent business need, Oracle will evaluate the feasibility of creating one-off patches without the established minimum prerequisites. 24
You are likely closer to 12.1.3 than you realize Many patches created after 12.1.3 include files from 12.1.3 Use Patch Wizard to compare your current system to 12.1.3 Family Pack contents Product areas that you ve patched will likely be unaffected by applying 12.1.3 Family Packs 25
