EQUIPPED FOR INCREASED SAFETY. Introduced from March 2014, all new MINIs are fitted with the tyre pressure control system (RDC). This system means you can always keep an eye on the pressure in your tyres. You benefit from increased safety. The correct tyre pressure reduces the risk of tyre damage, thereby increasing safety. You benefit from reduced fuel consumption. Tyres at the correct pressure generate less rolling resistance. This impacts positively on fuel consumption. You benefit from a longer service life. The correct tyre pressure helps to prevent irregular wear and tear, thereby extending the tyre s service life. What s in your tyre is up to you. Even in cars with a tyre pressure control system the tyre pressure should be checked every two weeks. All-round safety for more driving fun. How RDC works. An RDC sensor is installed in the tyre valve of all four wheels. This monitors the pressure of each individual tyre. At a critical pressure (20% below TARGET or below the defined minimum pressure of less than 1.7 bar), you are alerted via the Control Display inside the car, enabling you to take the necessary action. What does this mean as far as you are concerned? As the driver of a new car with tyre pressure control system, you must make sure that any winter tyres you buy are fitted with an RDC sensor.
