INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT Actively Managed Portfolio Service Bespoke

Walker Crips We take pride in being one of the oldest independently owned companies in the City of London. Our predecessors first bought and sold shares through the London Stock Exchange in 1914 and we can trace our roots back to the early 18th Century. Founded on traditional values of honesty, fairness and integrity, we have managed to maintain these ideals by remaining impartial, flexible and transparent, and most of all by being fully committed to the clients that we serve.

Bespoke portfolios At Walker Crips we have been providing private clients with successful wealth and investment strategies for over a century. Our priority has always been to leverage our knowledge and expertise to produce positive returns for our clients. By investing in our bespoke portfolio service you can now take advantage of our skills and experience to focus on generating and preserving growth for your investment effectively and efficiently. This is a discretionary service, allowing you to concentrate on your other priorities by entrusting us with responsibility for the day-to-day management of your investment portfolio. Meet and liaise with your own Investment Manager to build your personal investment strategy A portfolio that is personalised to accommodate your specific requirements Proven investment process focused on positive performance Your portfolio will be monitored daily and adjusted with a complete understanding of your preferences and objectives Access to your dedicated Investment Manager with on-going portfolio reviews Online portfolio performance with prices updated daily Clean management fee with no hidden charges or extras 1

Constructing your portfolio Your investments represent your past hard work, your present decisions and your future comfort and security, so we will respect those key factors in our commitment to growing and preserving your wealth. We do not feel that this can be done passively by letting your investments languish. So when we say actively managed, we mean it. Rather than follow a prescribed investment style or trend, we concentrate on how to blend your investments to maximise performance. To create the best potential for strong performance we focus on identifying the assets that, relative to their risk, can provide you with healthy real returns. Our team of expert investment professionals, the Investment Senate, use their wide ranging experience, skills and acumen to research and analyse the prevailing global macro-economic issues and the themes and opportunities that those situations present. The Investment Senate works to identify the asset classes, countries and sectors where the most potential exists. Those assets that represent real value and a strong potential for growth and capital preservation are selected through quantitative analysis, external research and specialist internal review. Targeting performance The day-to-day management of your portfolio is the responsibility of your personal Investment Manager who will focus on mitigating risk and seeking return opportunities. Your Investment Manager will respond rapidly and appropriately to fresh data, research, analysis and other external influences in order to ensure your portfolio remains within your agreed return objectives, requirements and risk profile. We do not restrict ourselves to rebalancing your portfolio at fixed times and can react to global issues, news and market conditions instantly. However, opportunities and tactical asset allocation are reviewed every day and the overall strategy is reviewed by the Investment Senate on a weekly basis. Select your portfolio In consultation with you, your bespoke portfolio will be built around your financial objectives, your risk profile, your asset preferences and any other personal requirements. With your mandate agreed, your investment manager will have a comprehensive understanding of your preferences and objectives, and will monitor markets daily to keep your portfolio adjusted for its best potential. Your investment manager will be on hand to report to you on your portfolio performance. Your mandate can be altered to reflect your changing requirements and objectives throughout the life of your investment. You should assess your options in consultation with your professional adviser. Are you looking to generate an income or would you prefer to achieve growth? Your professional adviser will discuss your investment time frame and your financial objectives. What is your attitude to risk? Your professional adviser will discuss your attitude to risk with you to help create a portfolio specifically constructed for your needs. How would you like to invest? Your professional adviser will discuss the most tax efficient investment vehicle for your requirements (eg. ISAs, SIPPs, SSASs, Offshore Bonds or Trusts). In consultation with you and your professional adviser, we will discuss which underlying assets would be most appropriate to reach your financial objectives and meet your own limitations, restrictions or criteria for investment selection (eg. Shares, Bonds or Collectives). In consultation with you and your professional adviser, we will establish a mutually agreeable benchmark to measure performance (eg. Cash, Indices, APCIMS). 4

Flexible Your Investment Manager can move quickly to take advantage of markets and their movements to actively manage your portfolio performance. Transparent Our clean management fee means that there are no commissions or hidden charges. You always know that any decisions we make are in the interests of your portfolio and its performance. On-line access and regular commentary means you can track your investments and keep up to date with your portfolio. Regular meetings with your investment manager to discuss your portfolio performance Impartial Independent from any other financial institution we are free to choose the most appropriate assets for your portfolio. As we have no bias, your interests are at the heart of our decision making process. As our revenue is directly linked to your portfolio you know that our only objective is the performance of your investment. 5

Security of your money We hold all client money in accordance with the FCA client money rules. In effect, we pool your money with that of other clients. This pool of client money is then held separately from the Firm s money and is deposited with a number of leading banks. We do this to increase your security by further spreading the risk should a bank come under pressure or near default. We regularly review the creditworthiness of these banks to ensure that only those with a high credit rating are used. However, should one of these banks become insolvent then, in conjunction with your other deposits or bank accounts, you will be treated as an individual depositor and will be covered under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. This Scheme entitles you to compensation of up to 85,000, subject to any other deposits you may hold personally with that bank. Your money is ring-fenced from Walker Crips Group s assets and cannot be accessed by the creditors should the Group become insolvent. 6

Security of your investments We use Nominee companies to hold your investments. These companies do not trade, but are formed by a bank, or other fiduciary organisation, to hold and administer investments as a custodian on your behalf. The Nominee company oversees the holdings, minimises paperwork and speeds up transactions, while sustaining your beneficial ownership. Your assets that are registered in one of these Nominees are held in trust and are not regarded as belonging to Walker Crips Group. Therefore, in the unlikely event that Walker Crips Group should default, your assets are ring-fenced and cannot be used to settle any of Walker Crips Group s liabilities. In the very unlikely event of a shortfall in your assets held in our Nominees then the FSCS has a maximum compensation limit of 50,000 per person, per authorised firm. If you require any additional information or reassurance on our controls for safeguarding your money and your investments, please call us on 020 3100 8100. For further information on the Financial Services Compensation Scheme visit www.fscs.org.uk You can also visit www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk for an independent service, set up by government to help people in the UK make the most of their money. 7

How to invest To invest in the Actively Managed Portfolio Service you will need to complete the application form, with a risk profile questionnaire, and forward that to us with documents to verify your identity and address. However, we suggest that you contact a professional adviser who will be able to assist you with the completion of the forms, provide you with financial advice as to whether this service is suitable for you, clarify your investment objectives and select the most appropriate vehicle for your investment. The application form is available at www.wcgplc.co.uk/investmentmanagement and it details the identity documents you will also need to supply. If you have any queries about this investment, please consult your professional adviser or contact Walker Crips Investment Management. Call 020 3100 8100, email amps@wcgplc.co.uk or visit www.wcgplc.co.uk 8
