8.0 for LINUX UNIX What s New Document Expand 2.1 Learn more at www.swsoft.com/plesk/expand Published: December 2006 Revised: December 2006

Key Themes This new release of SWsoft Plesk Expand provides our users with increased levels of flexibility and integration. Not only do administrators have the ability to move clients and domains between servers easily but automated tasks can be scheduled for these moves. As part of SWsoft s OPEN FUSION initiative, the software is highly integrated with the latest versions of Plesk, HSPcomplete and Virtuozzo making this latest version the most comprehensive to date. This new release adds support for domain aliases with the centralized DNS solution offering a focal point to manage multiple accounts on separate systems. Improvements to the Centralized Mail management feature and support for a single centralized trouble ticketing system are designed to increase the response and manageability of a multi-system management console. Highlights include: Client/Domain Migration Wizard Updated Domain Aliases Management Centralized Trouble Ticketing Support Broader OS Support Improved Virtuozzo Integration Top Features 1. Client/Domain Migration Wizard Service providers can move a Plesk Client or Plesk Domain account from one Plesk for Unix/Linux server to another with an easy to use migration wizard. Plesk Expand will automatically schedule the migration and will take care of migrating domain configuration as well as user files and all other data associated with this domain or client. 2. Domain Aliases Now, service providers can use Plesk Domain Aliases with Central DNS solution and manage Plesk Domain Aliases from a single point. 3. Centralized Trouble Ticketing Support Expand administrators can centrally manage trouble tickets for all their customers and Plesk servers using powerful helpdesk solutions such as Kayako Support Suite or Cerberus HelpDesk. 4. Broader OS Support Plesk Expand now supports the following OSes: Red Hat Fedora Core 4 (SELinux mode is also supported) CentOS 4 Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 5. VZ Templates Plesk Expand has VZ template distribution for fast and easy installation in Virtuozzo nodes. 2

More New Features 1. Single Startup Script Service providers can easily control Plesk Expand, Apache and MySQL services with new single start-up script (/etc/init.d/expand), which is able to start all required services automatically. 2. VZCC Plesk servers installed in a Virtuozzo environment now have access to the VZCC web control panel from Plesk Expand. A single click lets users instantly access the Virtuozzo Virtual Environment (VE) and manage the server s resources. 3. Full Support of Plesk 8.1 Plesk 8.1 is fully supported in this release and its limits and permissions can be managed using Expand. 4. Installation on Plesk 8.1 for Unix/Linux Systems Plesk Expand can be easily installed on servers running Plesk 8.1 for Linux/Unix. 5. HSPcomplete Integration The Plesk Expand Central Mail solution is now available for Plesk servers running under HSPcomplete 3.3 management. Now, Expand and HSPcomplete can share Plesk servers. 6. Centralized Mail Improvements Easier visual controls over Centralized Mail solution make this version of the software easier to manage. The new Limits Exceeded status appears if an account owner has overused resources on a Central Mail server and a new Pending status appears if an account is synchronized with Central Mail server or not. 7. DNS Controller in SELinux Central DNS will now work in a SELinux environment. 8. Single Login for Custom Port A single login is available for Plesk servers using unistandard (not 8443) port now. 9. Unix-timestamp SOA Serial The Centralized DNS function now has an option of using Unixtimestamp SOA serial on remote DNS servers. 10. Statistics Cleaning Centralized Mail statistics are cleaned periodically preventing the database from growing disproportionately.
