-4- Medical Insurance Your Medical Plan Options The College offers two types of medical plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield: an HMO and PPO plan. All full time benefit eligible staff and faculty members are eligible to enroll in the College s health insurance plan upon date of hire. Coverage is available to employees and their dependents, including domestic partners. HMO Blue New England Enhanced Value In the HMO plan, members will be required to select a Primary Care Physician (PCP) and receive all care from participating providers (in-network). The Blue Cross HMO network covers the entire New England region. Most specialist services will require a referral from a PCP. There is no coverage for services received from a non-participating provider (out-of-network). You will be covered for Emergency treatment regardless of whether care is provided by a participating provider or non-participating provider. For this option, you will pay more out of pocket and higher premiums.
