IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ ALL OF THESE WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS PRIOR TO USING YOUR SPA. PLEASE, be a responsible spa owner. When installing and using this spa, always adhere to basic safety precautions. Be sure to list emergency telephone numbers at the telephone nearest the spa, including physician, hospital, ambulance, police, and the fire department. Be certain to explain safety precautions to all new or occasional users of your spa. Remember, they may not be aware of the possible risks associated with the spa water temperature. WARNING - To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product unless they are closely supervised at all times. 2. A wire connector is provided on this unit to connect a minimum 8 AWG (8.4 mm) solid copper conductor between this unit and any metal equipment, metal enclosures of electrical equipment, metal water pipe, or conduit within 5 feet (1.5 m) of the unit. 3. For cord connected/convertible units. DANGER - Risk of Injury - a) Replace damaged cord immediately. b) Do not bury cord. c) Connect to a grounded, grounding type receptacle only. 4. DANGER - Risk of Accidental Drowning - Extreme caution must be exercised to prevent unauthorized access by children. To avoid accidents, ensure that children cannot use this spa unless they are supervised at all times. 5. DANGER - Risk of Injury - The suction fittings in this area are sized to match the specific water flow created by the pump. Should the need arise to replace the suction fittings or the pump, be sure the flow rates are compatible. Never operate spa if the suction fittings are broken or missing. Never replace a suction fitting with one rated less than the flow rate marked on the original suction fitting 6. DANGER - Risk of Electrical Shock - Install at least 5 feet (1.5 m) from all metal surfaces. As an alternative, a spa may be within 5 feet of metal surfaces if each metal surface is permanently connected by a minimum 8 AWG (8.4 mm) solid copper conductor to the wire connector on the terminal box that is provided for this purpose.

Lower water temperatures are recommended for young children and when spa use exceeds 10 minutes. b) Since excessive water temperatures have a high potential for causing fetal damage during the early months of pregnancy, pregnant or possibly pregnant women should limit spa water temperatures to 38ºC (100ºF). c) Before entering a spa, the user should measure the water temperature with an accurate thermometer since the tolerance of water temperatureregulating devices varies. d) The use of alcohol, drugs, or medication before or during spa use may lead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning. e) Obese persons and persons with a history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetes should consult a physician before using a spa. f) Persons using medication should consult a physician before using a spa since some medication may induce drowsiness while other medication may affect heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Marking for equipment assemblies WARNING REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTROCUTION 1. Install at least 5 feet from water using nonmettalic plumbing. 2. Do not install under spa skirt or within an enclosure that would restrict ventilation. 3. If blower is included, install at least 1 foot above maximum water level. REDUCE THE RISK OF CHILD DROWING 1. Supervise children at all times. 2. Attach spa cover after each use. 3. Install a suction guard with marked flow rate no less than GPM to avoid hair and body entrapment. REDUCE THE RISK OF OVERHEATING 1. Check with a doctor before use if pregnant, diabetic, in poor health, or under medical care. 2. Exit immediately if uncomfortabe, dizzy or sleepy. Spa heat can cause hyperthermia and unconsciousness. 3. Spa heat in conjuction with alcohol, drugs, or medication can cause unconsciousness. WHEN PREGNANT, soaking in hot water for long periods can harm your fetus. Measure water temperature before entering. 1. Do not enter spa if water is hotter than 100 o F (38 o C). 2. Do not stay in spa for longer than 10 minutes. AUDIO COMPONENT WARNINGS Spas equipped with the Audio system should follow these guidelines for safety: 1. CAUTION - Risk of Electrical Shock - Do not leave compartment door open. 2. CAUTION - Risk of Electrical Shock - Replace components only with identical components. 3. Do not operate the audio controls while inside the spa. 4. WARNING - Prevent Electrocution - Do not connect any auxiliary components (for example cable, additional speakers, headphones, additional audio/video components, etc.) to the system. 5. These units are not provided with an outdoor antennae; when provided, it should be installed in accordance with Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70. 6. Do not service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other risk of injury. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 7. When the power supply connections or power supply cord(s) are damaged: if water is entering the audio/video compartment or any electrical equipment compartment area; if the protective shields or barriers are showing signs of deterioration; or if there are signs of other potential damage to the unit, turn off the unit and refer serviceing to qualified service personnel. 8. This unit should be subjected to periodic routine maintenance (for example, once every 3 months) to make sure that the unit is operating properly. KEEP THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IN A CONVENIENT AND READILY ACCESSIBLE LOCATION!!
START UP Please read each step of the Start-up section prior to doing the step. SELECTING A LOCATION In preparation for installing your new spa, you should ensure that your chosen location meets some minimum guidelines: 1) Place your outdoor spa on a surface that is large enough for the entire - spa to fit. Consider the space needed to easily access equipment compart - ments and circuit breakers. Remember, all electronics must be kept dry. 2) The spa must be on a solid, level foundation. Recommended: 6 inches of reinforced cement slab that has cured for at least 72 hours. Your warranty will be voided if the swim spa is not properly installed. Structural damage due to an improper foundation is not covered under warranty. 3) To avoid potential water damage to the skirt and frame, your swim spa should be placed on a site where it will not be in the way of water sprinklers. 4) OUTDOOR SPA: Consider building codes, electrical and plumbing codes, desired proximity to house, wind and sun exposure, location of trees (falling leaves, shade), dressing area, landscaping and lighting when selecting a location. 5) INDOOR SPA: Floor surface must have traction to prevent slipping when wet. A floor drain is optimum. As room humidity will increase because of the spa, provide ample ventilation to prevent dry rot, mildew and mold. Use materials that will withstand humidity. There may be a need for cross-ventilation fans and/or dehumidifiers. The spa chemicals may corrode some household metals. Provide ample room if servicing should be needed. Strong foundational support is vital, particularly if a second-story site is selected. 6) Ensure the equipment compartment is in a location where it will not be damaged by water drainage. Cover the equipment compartment with a heavy screen if rodents are a problem. Damage due to rodents is not covered under warranty. 7) Have the spa deck installed by a knowledgeable contractor to ensure proper support.
START UP INSPECTION You will want to inspect your spa, prior to filling it up with water. Look for and remove any debris in the hot tub and in the filte. Verify that pump plugs are installed on the pumps and the pump unions are tight. FILLING THE SPA WITH WATER NOTE: Do Not fill your spa with hot water straight out of your water heater or tap. This water may be as hot as 180ºF and will cause damage to the surface and plumbing of the spa. This will void your warranty. Level the pool before filling. 1) Prepare to fill the tub by removing all debris 2) Remove the filters from your spa. 3) Place your garden hose in the center of the filter 4) Fill the tub from the circulation pump line until water level is above the foot-well. NOTE: This will purge all the air out of the circulation pump. An air lock can cause damage to the circulation pump and is not covered under warranty. 5) Once the water level is filled over the foot-well, you can pull the hose out of the filter line and continue filling the spa from the filter we 6) The spa should be filled until water level is at least 40mm above skimmer NOTE: Do Not Overfill Your spa. 7) With the front panel off, verify there are no leaks at the pump union. NOTE: Pump unions can become loose during shipping. Verify that there are no leaks during filling of the pool. 8) Reinstall the circulation pump screen and all filters. TURNING THE POWER ON Turn the power to the spa on at the main circuit breaker. Verify that your spa has no error codes. Verify that there is good water circulation in the spa. The pumps will come on in cycles, for 1 minute each cycle.
START UP VERIFYING WATER CIRCULATION 1) Open all the jets. 2) Press the Pump 1 key to turn the pumps on or off. 3) Make sure each seat has water flo. Note: On certain spa there is a diverter valve. Verify where the diverter valve is located. TESTING THE GFCI BREAKER NOTE: The electrical service panel for your spa should be equipped with a GFCI breaker. To avoid the risk of electrical shock, perform the following safety test before each use of your spa. 1) Make sure the power is turned on at the electrical service panel. 2) Turn on the GFCI breaker. If the breaker stays on, it is functioning properly. NOTE: The spa system will automatically trip the GFCI 24 hours after power up. This is a safety feature and can not be disabled. DANGER: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK If the GFCI breaker fails to operate as described, there is a possibility of an electrical shock if the spa is used. Shut off the power at the main electrical service panel until the source of the problem has been identified and corrected by a licensed electrician or qualified pool technician NOTE: When power is turned on, your spa is automatically pro - grammed to start circulating water through the circulation pump. Each pump and/or blower will come on consecutively for approximately 1 minute to automatically purge the system. Adjust your temperature by pressing the up button on your touch pad until the desired temperature is displayed. This setting will allow your pool to heat to the set temperature. CAUTION: If water is not noticeably coming from your pool jets during the automatic purge, turn on the high speed pump. If water is still not coming from the jets, the pump needs to be manually primed, following the steps below.
START UP PRIMING THE PUMP 1) Turn off power at electrical service panel. 2) Locate and loosen one of the pump plugs on each pump by turning it counterclockwise one half of one turn. 3) Allow air to escape from fittings. When a steady stream of water flows from the pump plug, close it by turning it clockwise until tight. 4) Turn on power at electrical service panel. 5) Check once more to make sure that water is flowing from the jets during auto purge. If so, continue. If no water is coming from your spa jets, please call your dealer for further assistance. WATER PREPARATION NOTE: Before putting your new spa into operation, understand that preparing your new water is an important part of maintenance. Failure to properly prepare your water can result in substantially decreasing the life of the components and may void your warranty in severe cases. START UP CHECKING LIST Remove spa cabinet side panel to access equipment bay 1. Check Barrel Unions are tight Barrels unions are the connections between the pumps and heater and the plumbing of the spa. If they become loose, this can cause water loss. It is important to check the tightness of these unions periodically, and especially when spa is first delivered. The unions are designed to be retightened by hand. Rotate the locking nut clockwise to tighten. NOTE: If you see water escaping from beneath your spa, the barrel unions should be the first thing you check. LEAKS FROM BARREL UNIONS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE SPA S WARRANTY.
START UP START UP CHECKING LIST 2. Check Ball valves are open Ball valves enable the water flow to be closed to allow removal of spa equipment for servicing without the need to empty the spa water. The Ball must be OPEN and allow water flow. 3. Check drain valve is closed and firmly tightened 4. Check all jets are open Water flow to most jets can be turned on or off by rotating the jet face clockwise (on) or anti-clockwise (off) Check to ensure all jets are open before fillingwith water. 5. Fill water to correct level in spa The spa should be filled until the water level is at least 40mm above the skimmer. Don t over 50mm. NOTE: Always remember to remove the filters and fill spa through filter pipes
UPPER BODY WORKOUTS FOR SWIM SPA Aqua Bike Based on the classic land-based stationary bicycle, the Aqua Bike takes aerobic and fitness training to the water. The Aqua Bike features five levels of resistance, light-weight stainless steel design, adjustable saddle seat and handlebars. The Aqua Bike enables both aerobic and muscle conditioning in a stress-free aquatic environment. Aqua Bike Rowing System Rowing System The Rowing System installs in three steps: 1) Install base plate 2) Install Rowers Screw each rower into base plate on each side of the rowing seat. 3) Install Tensor Cords Warning:If not properly installed, the tension on the cords during exercise could cause them to release and become a safety hazard.
TREADMILL WITH SUPER SWIM 1 2 Install Super Swim Pole Attach the two poles together by matching up the brass attachments and twisting until tightened. Place bottom of the pole into the attachment on the lip of the pool, above the rowing seat. Adjust nylon rope to desired length. Install Waist Band Pull the stainless steel clip along the waist band to adjust belt s diameter. Strap waist belt attachment to your waist by buckling the smaller clip into the larger, angled clip. Treadmill Run in place, utilizing water resistance. ADVANCED SWIMMING WITH SUPER SWIM 2 Install Waist Band Strap waist belt attachment to your waist by clipping the smaller clip into the larger angled clip. Swimming with Added Resistance Practice advanced swimming techniques and swim at a faster rate with the waist attachment.! Children should not use the aquatic fitness system
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA DRAINING YOUR SPA Your spa needs to be drained, cleaned, waxed and refilled about every six months. More frequent water changes may be necessary if bather load is heavy. A hose bib has been provided to assist you in draining your spa. 1) Turn off the power to your spa. If you fail to turn the power off, vital components could be damaged. Do not leave an empty spa exposed for long periods of time in hot, sunny weather. Locate drain spout. 2) Pull tab and then a slight clockwise turn. Note: Drain spout is fully extended at approximately 50mm. Use pliers if needed. 3) Remove drain cap. NOTE: The drain spout will not drain when fully extended. 4) Attach a standard garden hose. Push the drain spout in halfway to actuate the drain. 5) Once the spa is fully drained, pull the drain spout out all the way, remove hose, replace the drain cap and push drain in all the way, CAUTION: The chemical content and temperature of the water will cause damage to certain vegetation. We do not recommend that you drain your spa onto plants or lawns. If you choose to do this, please remove your spa cover and allow pool to cool for a mini - mum of 24 hours with the spa turned off. PILLOW CARE Remove and clean the pillows with soapy water and a soft cloth when needed. Use a vinyl conditioner once a month. Remove pillows when doing chemical shock treatment.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA JET CARE We recommend that you clean your jets when you drain your pool. However, if you do need to clean your jets in between this can be accomplished with a full pool. 1) To remove the jet inserts turn the jet counterclockwise to the off position until it stops. Continue to turn the jet past the stop point to loosen it from the pool. The insert will now pull out. 2) Soak jet inserts in a mixture of 1 part vinegar to two parts warm water for 2-3 hours. Periodically rotate the spinner nozzle to break up residue in the jets. 4) Rinse the jet inserts under warm water. 5) To reinstall the jets insert jet into jet body and turn clockwise until fully seated then tug to make sure it is seated properly. You can then continue to turn clockwise until it stops. NOTE: A jet with stainless steel escutcheons can be slippery. You can use a soft cloth or jar-opening pad to assist in removing and installing the jet.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA REMOVING, INSTALLING AND CLEANING FILTERS These are the steps needed to successfully replace your filters You should replace your disposable spa filters and clean your non-disposable filters every months. 1) Turn off all power to your spa 2) Turn the filter counterclockwise and remove it from the filter ll. 3) Dispose of the used filte. 4) Place the new filter into position and turn clockwise to fasten. DO NOT over-tighten. 5) Follow the directions 1) and 2) for the pleated filter cartridge. You then rinse the filter with a garden hose and soak the filter in a mixture of one pint of filter cleaner with 2.5 gallons of water for at least 12 hours. The filter must be completely submerged. You then follow the directions 4 to replace the filte WARNING: Power to your spa must be turned off prior to remov - ing your filters. The suction at the filter is extremely strong and can cause injury if there is no filter. NEVER run your spa without the filters properly installed. Injury to person and damage to the equipment can occur. Any damage to equipment due to this circumstance will not be covered under warranty. WINTERIZING YOUR SPA It is not recommended that you drain your spa completely during freezing conditions. We recommend that you leave your spa full of water with the power on to keep the tub from freezing. WARNING: Damage to your spa caused by freezing is NOT covered under warranty.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA REPLACING THE LIGHT BULB 1) Turn off the power at the main electrical service panel. 2) Remove front access panel. 3) Locate and remove the reflector by turning it counterclockwise until free from wall fitting 4) Remove the bulb from the holder. 5) Replace with new bulb. Your dealer has these bulbs in stock. 6) Replace the reflector by screwing it clockwise back onto the wall fi - ting. 7) Replace the front panel. 8) Turn power on at the main electrical service panel. CABINET CARE Your spa comes standard with material sythetic wood. This cabinet requires no maintenance. PUMP MAINTENANCE The pumps in your spa are high performance motors that require regular checking. It is a requirement of your spa s warranty to check the pumps every four (4) months for signs of leaking or corrosion. Any sign of leaking or calcium build up at the bottom of the pump between the plastic wet end and metal part of the motor indicates that the seals of your pumps are worn and need replacing. It is recommended that you contact your local spa dealer to arrange a service of your pump before the motor develops further problems. Pump seal corrosion and wear is generally caused by incorrect ph and alkalinity levels within the spa, or heavy use /excessive dosage of sanitisers such as Chlorine or Bromine. In order to avoid problems, please follow the water chemistry instructions provided to you by your dealer.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA BARREL UNION MAINTANCE Barrels unions are the connections between the pumps and heater and the plumbing of the spa. They are used to enable easy removal of the spa equipment in the event of servicing. However over time with vibration from pumps and water flow, and ageing of o-ring seals, it is possible for the unions to work loose. If they become loose, this can cause water loss. It is important to check the tightness of these unions periodically. The unions are designed to be retightened by hand. Rotate the locking nut clockwise to tighten. NOTE: If you see water escaping from beneath your spa, the barrel unions should be the first thing you check. LEAKS FROM BARREL UNIONS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE SPA S WARRANTY. CLEANING YOUR SPA INTERIOR It is important to clean the interior of your spa every time it is drained to help preserve the sheen of your spa s surface. However, it is important that you do not use any abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals. Your authorized dealer will be able to supply you with the proper solution for your spa. After cleaning, make sure all residues are removed prior to filli g the spa. This will help prevent sudsing and improper chemical balance. COVER CARE Cleaning of your spa cover is an important part of routine maintenance. Dirt acts as an abrasive to the vinyl topcoat, and can also cause wear to folds, seams, and stitching. Mildew growing on damp, dirty vinyl will begin to actually root in the fabric, accelerating failure. Follow this simple routine for cleaning, prior to application of vinyl protectant: 1) Rinse with cool water using a garden hose. 2) Spray with a gentle, non-foaming cleaner and wipe clean. Never use laundry detergent, abrasives, alcohols, dish soaps or harsh cleaners. These can actually remove some of the topcoat and cause premature vinyl failure. 3) For stubborn dirt, use a non-abrasive sponge. 4) Rinse again thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Your vinyl cover is affected by the UV in sunlight. Periodic treatment with a liquid protectant will extend the life of your spa cover. The wrong kind of protectant can be more harmful then no protectant at all. Keep any product away from your spa that is labeled flammable, that contains any type of oil, or that leaves a waxy coating on your cover. Never stand or sit on the cover and never drag it over abrasive surfaces. Lift cover only by the handles provided.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF WATER Tap water that is safe to drink is not always safe for a spa. Normal tap water is usually filled with minerals and microcontaminants that are not visible to the naked eye. Properly testing and treating your spa water is essential for the health of the spa as well as the people using it. Proper chemical maintenance will help control and prevent the following: Bacteria, algae, and fungi, which can spread disease and infection to humans Staining and scale build-up on the spa shell, equipment, and piping Clogged filters CAUTION: Important Instructions. Always: Follow chemical manufacturers instructions Use an accurate test kit to perform all chemical tests Never mix chemicals Add chemicals directly to the spa, evenly spreading the chemicals over the surface of the water or use an appropriate feeding or metering device Run the filter pump on high speed for at least 15 minutes after applying chemicals Check chemical levels often Note that names of spa chemicals will vary from one manufacturer to another Contact your authorised Spa dealer with questions
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF WATER Overview of Water Chemistry Water Quality Maintenance Maintaining the quality of the spa water within specified limits will enhance your enjoyment of the spa and prolong the life of its equipment. It is a fairly simple task, but it requires regular maintaining because the water chemistry involved is a balance of several factors. There is no simple formula and there is no avoiding it. A careless attitude regarding water maintenance will result in poor and potentially unhealthy conditions for bathing and possible damage to your spa. For specific guidance on maintaining water quality, consult your authorized Spa dealer who can recommend appropriate chemical products for sanitising and maintaining your spa. Sanitisation Sanitisers kill bacteria and viruses and keep the water clean. A low sanitiser level will allow bacteria and viruses to grow quickly in the spa water. To raise the sanitiser level, simply add an approved sanitiser. A high sanitiser level can cause discomfort to eyes, lungs and skin. To lower the sanitiser level, simply wait ± the sanitiser level will naturally drop over time. Effective and safe sanitisers include Granular Chlorine (Dichlor-type only), Hydrogen Peroxide and Granular Bromine. NOTE: Increased use of the spa (or in the number of users of the spa) will result in the need to increase the amount of sanitiser required to maintain the recommended sanitiser level. NOTE: Ozone purification is recommended only as a supplement to the above sanitisers. Ozone Purifiers greatly enhance the quality of the spa water when used in conjunction with an industry standard spa chemical maintenance program. CAUTION: Never use ozone as a single-source sanitiser, water clarifier, stain & scale inhibitor or foam inhibitor. WARNING: Trichlor Chlorine tablets should never be used in a portable spa. Dissolve rate, potency and the extreme low ph of this chemical can cause severe damage to the spa surface and components. Use of Trichlor Chlorine tablets will void the warranty.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF WATER WARNING: Bromine and Dichlor tablets are also not recommended as an acceptable sanitiser in a Spa unless in an appropriate feeding or metering device. Inconsistency in its application and excessive Bromine or Chlorine in the spa can cause surface damage and component failure. Use of either of these sanitiser tablets in any automatic floating-type tablet feeder will require more frequent monitoring and testing. Misuse of Bromine or Dichlor tablets will void the warranty. WARNING: Products containing Baguanide (Baqua) are also not recommended for use in your spa. These products are known to deteriorate light lenses, pump seals and other spa components. Misuse of Baquanide products will void the warranty. WARNING: Never leave an open spa unattended, especially if there are children present. PH Control Proper ph balance is extremely important in providing water that is comfortable to the user, and preventing damage to the spa and equipment. The measure of acidity and basicity in the water is called ph. The ph scale ranges from 0-14. Levels of ph less than 7.0 are acidic while ph levels greater than 7.0 are basic. The proper ph range for a spa is 7.4-7.6. High ph levels (greater than 7.6) can cause scale build-up on the spa and its equipment, cloudy water, a prematurely dirty filter, and less effective sanitation. To correct high ph levels, add a ph decreaser. Low ph levels (less than 7.4): can cause discomfort to the spa users, rapid dissipation of sanitiser, and corrosion to the spa equipment. To increase ph levels, add a ph increaser. NOTE: Never use Muriatic or Hydrochloric acid to adjust ph as it can damage the spa shell and surrounding components. Total Alkalinity (TA) TA is the quantitative measurement of alkaline components (carbonates and bicarbonates) present in water, which if properly adjusted, act as a buffer against rapid ph changes. Proper total alkalinity levels are important to ensure optimal chemical balance in spas. Low TA can cause the ph to be unstable causing the water to
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF WATER be corrosive or scale forming to the spa and its equipment. To correct low TA, add a Total Alkalinity Increaser. High TA can cause scale build-up, cloudy water, as well as other ph problems. If the spa water has high TA, contact your authorised Spa dealer for assistance. Calcium Hardness (CH) CH is the measure of dissolved calcium in the water. Low CH (soft water) can stain the spa surface as well as cause corrosion to the spa and its equipment. To correct low CH, add a CH Increaser. High CH (hard water) can cause cloudy water as well as rough scale build-up on the spa surface and equipment. If the spa water has high CH, it is preferable to either dilute the water s hardness by blending the water with water from a water softener, or by the addition of a special water softening chemical (contact your authorised Spa dealer). IMPORTANT: Never fill the entire spa with soft water unless an appropriate mineral supplement is immediately added (contact your authorised Spa dealer). Stain and Scale Control Stain and scale problems are common in hot water environments. To help prevent and control staining and scaling, add a Stain and Scale Inhibitor. Foam Control Spa water that is polluted with body oils and lotions, combined with high water temperatures, can cause excessive surface foaming. For a temporary fix, add a Foam Remover. The best way to control foam is to Super Sanitise the water; this will destroy the soap agents that normal levels of sanitiser will not. Cloudy Water Prevention and Control There are two basic reasons that spa water becomes cloudy. Non-filterable liquid waste (e.g. perspiration) have contaminated the water. To remove these substances, Super Sanitise the water. Or, non-filterable micro-particulate waste (e.g. dust) has contaminated the water. To remove these substances use a Water Clarifier.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA GENERAL OPERATING TIPS The following operating and maintenance instructions are very important and must be followed carefully. With proper care and maintenance your spa will provide you with years of satisfaction with minimum effort 1. The filtration pump should be operated for a minimum of four (4) hours per day for cleaning. Information on adjusting filter duration can be found in the control panel s instruction manual. 2. The length of time required to heat your spa to the desired water temperature will vary, depending on the air temperature, season, and wind velocity. Therefore, this is something each owner must adjust to their desired liking. We highly recommend using the hard cover to minimize heat loss and to protect your spa when not in use. 3. The replaceable filter cartridges are trouble free and easy to clean. A routine cleaning is the best practice. Cartridges should be removed and hosed down weekly using a water hose with pressure nozzle. Make sure all pumps are turned OFF before removing the cartridge(s) for cleaning. In addition, at least once a month the cartridges should be removed and soaked in a filter cartridge cleaning solution for a minimum 30 minutes (or as directed by the cleaning solution s instructions). After soaking, the cartridges should be thoroughly rinsed using a water hose with pressure nozzle. The frequency of soaking required varies with amount of spa use. The more the spa is used the more often the filters should be cleaned. 4. Keep the spa water level at least 50mm above the skimmer at all times. Never allow the water level to drop below the bottom of the skimmer opening. If the water level is too low, the skimmer will allow air into the water lines of the pump, causing it to lose its prime (water -flow). Running the pump without water flow will damage the pump seal assembly and could result in further equipment damage, which will not be covered by the product warranty.
MAINTAINING YOUR SPA GENERAL OPERATING TIPS 5.It is your responsibility to regularly check and maintain the chemical water balance of the spa pool to ensure it remains within reasonable ph (acid/ alkaline) limits (7.4-7.6 ph). Unbalanced water chemistry greatly accelerates corrosion and may lead to early product or component failure. Product or component failures caused as a result of poor water chemistry maintenance will NOT be covered by the product warranty. 6. Your spa may be equipped with an ozone or uv sanitiser to assist with water sanitization and filtration, however your spa water will still require regular treatment with some form of chemical spa sanitiser. Consult your local spa dealer for advice on regular water testing and treatment procedures. 7. You should empty and clean your spa at least every 3-4 months. Performing a pipe and jet degrease before draining is recommended. Drain the spa water and use a liquid cleanser free of abrasives to clean your spa. Fill with regular tap water and chemically treat the water before use, for a clean and healthy spa. 8.CAUTION: Cover must be kept on spa at all times spa shell is empty, direct exposure to sunlight can damage plastic parts and interior surface, jets, or any other interior components. Damage resulting from the above will not be covered under warranty.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR SPA Filter Cartridges Most Spas are equipped with two or three filter cartridges (depending on pump configuration). NOTE: Filter cartridges may require replacement or cleaning more frequently depending on length and frequency of regular spa use. ZEN SPAS FILTER ZSPAS FILTER Removing filters To remove filters simply unscrew the cartridge in an anti-clockwise direction and pull out from spa. Reinstalling filters When reinstalling filter first hold the cartridge underwater until the air stops bubbling (at this point most air has been removed from the cartridge). Then screw the cartridge back into place in a clockwise direction. NOTE: DO NOT screw the cartridge back into place excessively tight. Only screw the cartridge until it no longer spins freely. The suction from the pumps will pull the cartridges in further once operated. If the cartridge is screwed in place excessively tight before pump operation, the cartridge may be difficult to remove or could even cause the filter thread connection to twist or break the next time the cartridge is removed and breakage is not covered by warranty.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR SPA Air Controls Each seat in your spa will have an air control. This regulates the amount of air that flows through the jet with the water. The more air, the more powerful the jet s stream. You can adjust the pressure in the entire seat by adjusting this air control clockwise or anti-clockwise. Aromatherapy Canister If your spa is equipped with an air blower an aromatherapy canister may also be fitted. The canister can be easily identified due to its coloured cap. Scented blocks can be placed in the canister which creates a fragrance to rise up from the air bubbles when the air blower is operated. Water Diverters Your spa may be fitted with one or more water flow diverters. These diverters control the flow of water from each jet pump between various zones of the spa. You can have full pressure in one zone and no pressure in another zone by turning the diverter handle all the way to the left or right, or part pressure in each zone by setting the diverter handle to the middle position. NOTE: It is important NOT to push these diverter handles past the natural stop point as breakage is not covered by the spa s warranty.

The hot tub equipment and all electrical plugs, outlets and lights within 1.5m (5ft) of the unit must be G.F.C.I protected. Consult your electrician or local electrical authority for further details. 6. A green colored terminal or a terminal marked G, GR, Ground, or Grounding is located inside the supply terminal box or compartment. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this terminal must be connected to the grounding means provided in the electric supply service panel with a continuous copper wire equivalent in size to the circuit conductors supplying the equipment. 7. At least two lugs marked BONDING LUGS are provided on the external surface or on the inside of the supply terminal box or compartment. To reduce the risk of electric shock, connect the local common bonding grid in the area of the hot tub to these terminals with an insulated or bare copper conductor not smaller than No.6 AWG (Canada/Europe). 8. All field installed metal components such as rails, ladders, drains or other similar hardware within 3 m (10 ft) of the hot tub shall be bonded to the equipment grounding bus with copper conductors not smaller than No.6 AWG.
