Webinar 24th February Openstack Cloud Disaster Recovery Use case: Are you prepared when it strikes Date: Tuesday 24th of February 2015 Time: 4 PM GMT, 11AM EDT, 8AM PDT Openstack Clouds are being deployed every day in different organisations and at multiple datacentres. The buzz is over now it s time to deal with operational issues relating to building and running an Openstack Cloud. Providing DR for a workload is a complex task involving infrastructure, software and an understanding of the workload. To enable recovery following a disaster, the administrator needs to execute a complex set of provisioning operations that will mimic the day-to-day setup in a different environment. In this webinar you'll learn: - How to scale an openstack cloud. - How to build high availability into all of the components of a Cloud. - How to recover from a disaster. - How to reduce downtime cost. 2

Use cases DR_SITE MyCloud 1 COPY COPY VM from A to B Replication VSA Cloud Backup 1 COPY 1 COPY Public Cloud AWS 7
Copy a VM What does this mean It means COPYING a POINT IN TIME (Snapshot) of your VM A to B The POINT IN TIME copy must be COHERENT! This means when I restart the image it will be functional. 8
Steps in copying a VM Step 1: VM in a COHERENT state Micro Pause, Flush to disk Step 2: SnapShot the VM (Volume) Step 3: Copy the Snapshot to DR site Step 4: Restore Copy to VM volume Step 5: Restart VM on DR site 9

STEP1 Create the SWIFT Sorage 11
STEP2 CloudBerry Test 12
STEP3 Launching A VM (boot from Volume) 13
STEP4 BackUp to SWIFT 14
STEP5 Check BackUp in SWIFT browser 15
STEP6 Create Volume in DR site 16
STEP7 Restore Object Backup TO VM volume 17
STEP8 Test the Restored Volume 18
