The GMF product development is closely aligned with the performance requirements of the automotive industry and based on constant and close contact with representatives of this industry. The link between Atotech development teams and OEM and Tier 1 decision-makers is guaranteed by an internal OEM-Tier 1 team of experts which is active in all major automotive regions. This team is dedicated to obtain information on current and future requirements of OEMs and Tier 1s, which are passed on to Atotech s development teams in order to be incorporated into our automotive technology roadmap. An assortment of precious metal processes, electrophoretic lacquers and rotogravure chemistry complements the product line. Plating on Plastics Atotech is recognized for its leading innovative technology in plating on plastics, offering comprehensive packages of conventional and direct plating processes. Copper and Alloy Processes Whether the applications are grounding rods, plated automotive wheels, automotive decorative interior and exterior trim plastics, rotogravure for printing cylinders or nickel-free bright white finishes for parts in contact with skin Atotech offers a complete range of dye-based and dye-free acid copper systems as well as rotogravure, pyrophosphate, immersion, cyanide and non-cyanide alkaline coppers.

General Metal Finishing Nickel and Alloy Processes Atotech offers the widest range of electrolytic nickel plating processes from satin, semi-bright and bright nickel to microporous, micro-cracked and high sulfur nickel for both rack and barrel applications. Complementary production technology such as maintenance and recycling systems for satin, semi-bright, bright and MPS nickel electrolytes complete the product range. 12 13 Corrosion Protection Coatings Highest Corrosion Protection with Electrolytic Zinc and Zinc Alloys Processes and Zinc Flake Technology In the area of corrosion protection coatings, Atotech is supplying both electrolytic zinc and zinc alloys plating processes as well as zinc flake technology. Atotech s product range includes all types of zinc plating additives and the most comprehensive range of zinc nickel processes in the market. A wide choice of high performance Cr(VI)-free conversion coatings and sealers is available. The zinc flake systems of Atotech provide a wide range of base coats and top coats in silver and black color as well as various lubricants. Zinc Electroplating Processes The extensive range of Atotech s zinc electroplating technologies comprises the latest development in chloride acid and cyanide-free alkaline zinc processes. Atotech s chloride acid zinc electrolytes provide effective leveling to achieve brilliant, high-gloss zinc coatings, resembling decorative chromium. Zinc Alloys Electroplating Processes Atotech s zinc alloys electroplating chemistries meet the highest corrosion protection standards and provide improved coating performance. Atotech s patented membrane anodes for alkaline zinc nickel electrolytes increase process throughput and improve coating quality while reducing the environmental footprint.

General Metal Finishing Post-treatment Atotech s unique sealers provide best corrosion protection due to reactive compounds and are highly suitable for each zinc and zinc alloy deposit. Among others, Atotech offers sealers with integrated lubricants, which are especially developed for the fastener industry to adjust the coefficient of friction within very narrow working windows. Black pigmented sealers, intensifying the black appearance, complement the product range. For unsealed surfaces, Atotech provides Cr(III)-based post-dips to be applied after passivation, meeting the industries corrosion protection requirements. Atotech offers Cr(VI)-free, Cr-free and Co-free passivates for zinc/zinc alloys plating, Cr(VI)-free low VOC zinc flake technology and CN-free alkaline zinc. H 3 BO 3 and NH + - free acid zinc/acid zinc nickel for high throughput 4 and best corrosion protection are also available. Zinc Flake Technology With a comprehensive zinc flake process range including silver and black base coats as well as organic and inorganic top coats, Atotech provides a perfect complement to its product portfolio of electroplated corrosion resistant coatings. The zinc flake technology is largely embraced by the fastener industry and used for a variety of other applications due to its special features. 14 15 Functional Chrome Coatings Advanced Hard Chrome Technology The basic hard chromium plating process was commercialized almost a century ago by United Chromium, a predecessor of Atotech. Continuous inventive advances have led to today s superior performance of Atotech s hard chrome processes. Functional Chrome Plating Atotech s hard chrome processes offer high efficiency and robustness producing coatings with extreme wear resistance, high corrosion protection levels and low coefficient of friction. The hard chrome plating range is completed by advanced non-pfos mist suppressants. Atotech also offers liquid chromium replenishment products for hard chrome plating. Atotech s DynaChrome system for chrome plating rods combines green processing equipment technology with a state-of-the-art process for high productivity and high quality. Atotech was the first to develop a low foaming, permanent, non-pfos mist suppressant. Also available is a trivalent chromium control system enabling the use of Pt/Ti anodes to make hard chrome plating completely lead-free.

General Metal Finishing Electroless Nickel Coatings The Beneficial Solution for Truly Functional Coatings Ideal wear performance, uniform thickness distribution as well as high corrosion resistance and high surface hardness all these coating properties are achieved with electroless nickel technology. The EDEN System The EDEN (Electrodialysis for Electroless Nickel) system is combining process chemistry and equipment. EDEN allows the concentrations of all ingredients to be kept within a defined range and guarantees virtually constant process parameters over a potentially unlimited bath life.

16 17 Functional Electronic Coatings Surface Technologies for Electrical and Electronic Industries Atotech s Functional Electronic Coatings provide processes for IC outer lead plating, high-speed silver spot plating, adhesion promoters for leadframe applications, cost-effective gold plating for connectors, 3D-MID manufacturing and high GAM LED silver plating. Atotech offers Pb-free tin electrolytes, Cl - -free Pd/Ni coating for connectors, CN-free alkaline copper and silver processes for leadframes and connector applications, as well as chromate-free silver passivates, Co and Ni-free hard gold and BTA-free protective post-treatments. IC/Leadframe Processes The functional electronic coatings product line offers chemistry and production know-how for four areas of the IC/leadframe manufacturing sequence.
