Multi-Tier Line Discount Calculation SO-1312 Overview This Extended Solution to the Sales Order module allows entry of up to five line discounts. The second, third, fourth, and fifth discounts will be calculated as net discounts based on the result of the prior discount s calculated results. The Allow Discount Rate by Detail Line option must be checked in Sales Order Setup in order for this Extended Solution to work. Installation Before installing this Extended Solution, please verify that the version level(s) printed on the CD label are the same as the version level(s) of the MAS 90 MAS 200 module(s) you are using. For further information, please see the Upgrades and Compatibility section below. Check your Shipping Manifest for a complete list of Extended Solutions shipped. Installing Your Extended Solutions under Windows From a CD If you have the autorun function turned on for your PC, the installation program will start up automatically. If not, find the autorun.exe file on your CD-ROM drive and double-click it to start the installation program. Follow the on-screen instructions. Extended Solutions Control Center Installing any Extended Solution will add an Extended Solutions Control Center to the MAS 90 MAS 200 Library Master Utilities menu. When you open the Control Center, the following options will be available: Extended Solutions Manuals Remove Extended Solutions Unlock Extended Solutions Merge Installation Files Extended Solutions Setup options Custom Office If you customize your MAS 90 MAS 200, then you must run the Update Utility every time you install this Extended Solution. Setup Upon completion of software installation, you will need to access Extended Solutions Setup from the Sales Order Setup menu. Select this part number and the Setup screen for this Extended Solution will appear (Figure 1). Check the Enable Extended Solution box to activate this Extended Solution. The manual for this Extended Solution can be viewed by Page 1

Figure 1 Answer the following prompts: 2ND TIER DISCOUNT TITLE/PERCENTAGE: Enter the title and percentage for the 2nd Tier 3RD TIER DISCOUNT TITLE/PERCENTAGE: Enter the title and percentage for the 3rd Tier 4TH TIER DISCOUNT TITLE/PERCENTAGE: Enter the title and percentage for the 4th Tier 5TH TIER DISCOUNT TITLE/PERCENTAGE: Enter the title and percentage for the 5th Tier The default percentages set here are not specific to a customer; they are company-wide. Operation Sales Order and S/O Invoice Entry A Disc button has been added to Sales Order Entry and Sales Order Invoice Data Entry. It is available for Inventory, Special, and Misc. Items (Figure 2). Click the button to access the Line Discount entry window (Figure 3). Figure 2 Figure 3 Page 3

The standard Discount % field in the data entry grid will be hidden. A check box will display next go each new discount. The default response will be blank for each discount. If you check the box, you will see the default discount percentage associated with the discount, which you may override. Once you click Accept, the discounts will be calculated and the line extension refreshed. Each discount is based on the prior discounted calculation s result. For example: if the Unit Price on a line was $10.00 and the standard line discount was 2%, the discount would be.20 and the applied result would be $9.80. If the second tier discount was 3%, the discount would be (9.80*.03) or.29 and the applied result would be $9.51. If the third tier discount was 4%, the discount would be (9.51*.04) or.38 and the applied result would be $9.13. As with standard line discount, these discounts will not affect the Unit Price, only the extension. You can override a tier s discount amount and that tier s percentage will be will backcalculate the discount rate and then recalculate the discount amount. The result may not equal the discount amount you entered, due to rounding. Other than their tiered calculation, these discounts will function as the single line discount would. Sales Journal Update For items that have Retain Sales History checked in Item Maintenance, discount amounts (not rates) will update to a new Warehouse Item Sales History Tier Discount Amount File. It stores the five discount amounts for each of the thirteen periods by Item /Warehouse/Year. Records in this file will be purged during I/M Period End Processing. A/R Invoice History Inquiry / Sales Order Quote History Inquiry A Discounts button has been added to the Additional Fields dialogue in the Lines tab (Figure 4). Click the button to view line discounts (Figure 5). Page 4
