Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary offers a variety of scholarships to new and returning students. To qualify for scholarships, new and transfer students must first apply and be accepted for admission. All scholarships require that a student be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours undergraduates or at least 9 hours seminary). Application deadlines are March 1 (early consideration) and April 1 for students entering in the fall semester and November 15 for new and transfer students entering in the spring semester. All new and renewal applicants must complete the FAFSA before scholarships are awarded each year. In order to make the scholarship program at Calvary a success, all scholarship recipients will be required to perform 5 hours of service for the spring Alumni Phone-a-thon. Additionally, students are required to serve as needed at the annual President s Dinner (or other similar events) each fall semester. These requirements must be met each year that the student receives the scholarship. Students only attending in the fall semester will fulfill their requirements for the Phone-a-thon in the fall. A limited number of scholarships are available and decisions on scholarships are made by the Student Aid Committee, whose deliberations and decisions are not public information. Applicants will be notified of their award status by the Financial Aid office. Students must reapply for all scholarships each academic year in order to be considered for re-award. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP (TIER 1) (First-time & new transfer students only) Amount: Up to $1000 per semester. Selection Criteria: First-time students: Minimum ACT composite score of 28 (or SAT combined score of 1200) and a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.7. Transfer students: Less than 24 college credit hours: Minimum ACT composite score of 28 (or SAT combined score of 1200) and a minimum post-secondary cumulative GPA of 3.7. More than 24 college credit hours; Minimum post-secondary cumulative GPA of 3.8. All Recipients must carry no less that 14 credit hours each semester. A limited number of scholar ships will be awarded each year to those with the highest ACT/SAT scores. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.50 CGPA and carry no less than 14 credit hours each semester. The student must reapply annually. Other: This scholarship may only be received for a maximum of eight semesters. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP (TIER 2) (First-time & new transfer students only) Amount: Up to $700 per semester. Selection Criteria: First-time students: Minimum ACT composite score of 23 (or SAT combined score of 1000) and a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.5. Updated 10/14/2011 1

Transfer students: Less than 24 college credit hours: Minimum ACT composite score of 23 (or SAT combined score of 1200) and a minimum post-secondary cumulative GPA of 3.5. More than 24 college credit hours; Minimum post-secondary cumulative GPA of 3.6. All Recipients must carry no less that 14 credit hours each semester. A limited number of scholar ships will be awarded each year to those with the highest ACT/SAT scores. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.50 CGPA and carry no less than 14 credit hours each semester. The student must reapply annually. Other: This scholarship may only be received for a maximum of eight semesters. ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP (College) Up to $250 per semester. Selection Criteria: The student must be the son/daughter of an Alumnus (an Alumnus is not necessarily a graduate of Calvary). Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA and nothing officially noted that negatively ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP (Seminary) Up to $250 per semester. Selection Criteria: The student must have a baccalaureate degree from Calvary Bible College.. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.5 CGPA and nothing officially noted that negatively AWANA SCHOLARSHIP (first & second year students only) Up to $500 a semester for up to four semesters. Selection Criteria: Entering freshmen and transfer students in their first two years of their degree program who have received the Citation Award in the Awana program. Verification from Awana Headquarters must be received before scholarships are awarded. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain a 3.0 CGPA. The student must reapply annually. BIBLE IMPACT MINISTRIES SCHOLARSHIP (freshmen only) Up to $350 per semester for up to two semesters. Selection Criteria: The student must be certified by BIM as having participated in the BIM National Program for a period of five years prior to attending CBC, including memorization of 200 Bible verses, completion of four years of work in the Emmaus Correspondence Course School, and attendance at BIM National Camps. Renewal Criteria: Non-renewable. CHRISTIAN MINISTRY SCHOLARSHIP (all students) Up to $400 per semester. Selection Criteria: The student must have completed eight to ten weeks in a full-time Christian Ministry, such as a summer camp worker, missionary, or club leader immediately prior to semester for which application is being made. Applicant s ministry supervisor (pastor, deacon, teacher, etc.) must recommend the applicant by using the Christian Ministry Scholarship Reference Form. (Reference form is due by the start date of the semester for which the applicant is applying or after the ministry has been completed, whichever comes first.) 2

CHRISTIAN WORKERS SCHOLARSHIP (Dependent Students) Up to $750 per semester. Selection Criteria: The student must be an unmarried, dependent student of a primary wage-earner who serves in full-time Christian work. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA and have nothing officially noted that negatively CHRISTIAN WORKERS SCHOLARSHIP (Independent Students) Up to $750 per semester. Selection Criteria: The student must be the primary wage-earner of the family and involved in full-time Christian work. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA and have nothing officially noted that negatively DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS (returning students only) Up to $1000 per semester. Area of Study: Applicant s major area of study. (If double-major, may only apply in one area.) Selection Criteria: Continuing student with demonstrated financial need, who exercises diligence in studies, seeks to maintain high standards in conduct, and exemplifies Christ-like character in daily life and ministry. Must submit a three-page application paper (see Scholarship Application requirements). Completed Departmental Scholarship Recommendation Form from a Calvary Department Chairperson or Academic Advisor must be mailed in directly to the Financial Aid Office by the scholarship deadline. Awards are limited based on the overall size of each department. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA (3.5 for seminary) and have nothing officially noted that negatively impacts the applicant s Christian character. The student must reapply annually. FAMILY TUITION SCHOLARSHIP (all students) Up to $200 per semester, per student. Selection Criteria: The student must be the member of a family where two or more immediate family members are currently enrolled. Each student must apply. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA (3.5 for seminary) and have nothing officially noted that negatively impacts their Christian character. The student must reapply annually. IFCA YOUTH CONVENTION COMPETITION SCHOLARSHIP (first-year students only) Up to $500 per semester for up to four semesters. Selection Criteria: Entering first-year students who have been the recipient of a Superior award in an IFCA competition. Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA. The student must reapply annually. 3

MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS (returning students only) Up to $200 (unless otherwise indicated) for fall semester only. Maximum of two scholarships per applicant. Area of Study: See individual requirements. Selection Criteria: For continuing students only. Requirements vary (see below). Renewal Criteria: The student must maintain at least a 3.0 CGPA (3.5 seminary). The student must submit a new application each year. Bevier Pastoral Studies Memorial Scholarship The applicant must be a Junior or Senior who has a burden and call to the pastoral ministry of a fundamental Bible-believing church or mission. Must be recommended by the Pastoral Studies Department Head. Award up to $350 per semester. Chan Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is a graduate or undergraduate international student, preferably Chinese or Oriental, pursuing a Christian service career. Howes Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student who has demonstrated academic achievement (CGPA over 3.50) and who has financial need, but is doing all that can be done to meet his/her college expenses. Further paperwork is required. Recipient is eligible to receive up to $1000. Izora Crews Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student who has a burden and a call to the foreign mission field or is the child of missionaries on a foreign field, and has a potential for service in a Christian vocation. Krestan Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student majoring in Education who has demonstrated academic achievement. Martin Burnham Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is a junior or senior majoring in Missions, having a call to enter a missions ministry. Recipient is eligible to receive up to $500 per semester. McCarrell Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student preparing for the pastoral ministry, having a burden for and call to the pastoral ministry of an independent, fundamental, Bible-believing church or mission, and demonstrating an ability to be used by God in the pastoral ministry. Morse Church Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is a junior or senior employed by the College for the type of work and rate of pay the Business Manager deems him/her qualified to perform. Saiday Abraham Mulbah Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student, either going to Liberia as a missionary, desiring to reach the nationals with the intent of discipling and training them to become church leaders, OR majoring in Christian Education, wanting to reach the boys and girls in the public school systems within his/her community. Recipients must have a servant s heart and a burden to witness to the lost with the gospel of Jesus. Robert B. Tuttle & Sheldon Zenger Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is a junior or senior pursuing a major in pastoral studies, missions, Christian education, or Christian school education and has potential for service in a Christian vocation. Toy Tadlock Memorial Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student who has a burden and call to minister to young people, with a vision to strengthen the home, and has a potential for service in a Christian vocation. Women s Auxiliary Scholarship: The applicant is an undergraduate student who has financial need, a positive attitude toward the College, and an aptitude for Christian service. Recipient is eligible to receive up to $250. 4
