Design tool for modeling workflows A specialized designer tool based on BPMN 2.0 notation is part of the BPM engine. This easy-to-use modeling tool allows you to graphically chart your workflows. The visual modeling helps define roles, responsibilities, tasks of different players as well as processes, functions and interactions between different systems. You get a precise representation of your end-to-end workflow making it much easier to identify and correct gaps or inefficiencies. The BPM engine allows you to associate business rules to any of the processes to guarantee that essential steps are not overlooked or ignored. Assignments, prioritizations, notifications, requirements for metadata entry or sequenced tasks can all be modeled to ensure proper execution. Tools for business Dalet Galaxy gives you real-time access to essential data. Audit trails improve accountability with easily traceable action paths for all content. Visibility from the operational to business layer simplifies reporting; helps to identify and build Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Data can also be exported for more complex analyses for ongoing Business Activity Monitory (BAM). The Dalet Professional Services team can help your organization implement and optimize your media asset management project. Contextual To Do lists Streamline production by prioritizing and assigning tasks with contextual To Do lists. When a user accepts the task, the necessary tools to complete the task (metadata form, QC check, recorders, editing tools, etc) automatically appear on the user s screen. Menu prompts ensure that required operations are completed before advancing to the next stage or task.

Tools to store and share assets The multimedia Content Catalog manages media, essence files and metadata across the organization, storing and tracking contextual sets of associated multimedia of all kinds along with metadata, including time-coded locators. The catalog provides ultimate flexibility to satisfy the needs of every type of media organization and make assets available across the entire enterprise using Dalet tools or existing/new 3rd party business/broadcast systems. Flexible data model Unlimited contextual metadata fields, configurable by type of content and users store a wide variety of information including broadcast rights, associated pictures, web links, and any relevant data. Specific metadata fields can be configured to support your specific distribution needs. To help the gathering process, fields can be connected to glossaries for accurate input of structured metadata. Advanced search tools Once ingested, content is immediately indexed and searchable. Powerful search capabilities including keyword search, templated search profiles, and discovery types of search allow users to easily find content, whether the media is online, near-online or offline. Tools to integrate the ecosystem Dalet Galaxy provides the foundation for media and workflow management in all production environments, including news, sports and entertainment programming. Dalet has many purpose-built tools to address unique aspects of these workflows; in addition, customers can easily incorporate other tools and systems into the workflow. Built on open standards with SOA-compliant Web Services APIs and several data exchange protocols, Dalet Galaxy integrates multiple, complex systems into a unified entity that produces streamlined should read workflows and increased productivity. Needless repetition of similar tasks is eliminated. Relevant data can be shared to maximum benefit. Real-time metadata can link to financial systems for improved business monitoring and optimal revenue potential. Connections to third party systems can rely on the built-in Dalet Web Services APIs, broadcast protocols (MOS, BXF, etc.), standard file-based exchanges or third party communication protocols. Typical integrations can be made with the following systems: J Traffic and business systems such as ERPs or enterprise workflow engines J IT systems such as Web portals and intranet (using widget technology) J Multichannel automation systems J Production systems and craft editors J MAM, newsroom and archive systems J CMS, CDNs and publishing systems J Media and metadata services (QC, speech to text, transcode farms, etc.) J HSM systems, storage systems, video servers, video routers and more

Tools to do the job Mix and match Dalet has incorporated an impressive number of time saving, easy-to-use tools into our Galaxy platform. These components are tailored to meet the most typical operational needs of large media organizations. Dalet tools for ingest, logging, editing, playout and distribution are designed to meet the most rigorous tasks. Content producers with multiplatform digital operations can realize productivity gains by integrating any of these modules toolsets into their workflows. Of course, large organizations often have a range of production and publishing tools already in place. Thanks to Dalet s open architecture and Web Services APIs, these elements can usually be incorporated into the same Dalet Galaxy framework. Operators can continue using their familiar tools while the organization benefits from the centralized metadata and media management as well as workflow collaboration. Dalet One Cut Dalet One Cut is a professional, real-time, multitrack video and audio editing system. Designed to accommodate a wide range of editing skills, One Cut can be configured in template fashion to match the complexity of different tasks and the proficiency of the users. The graphical user interface is ergonomically designed, straightforward and easy to learn. Clips can be storied in the Dalet Clip Bin where they can be stored, assembled and storyboarded. Dalet Xtend Dalet Xtend facilitates the exchange of video, shotlists, EDLs and their metadata between Dalet and non-linear editing systems such as Avid, Adobe Premiere and Apple Final Cut Pro. Many pre-production tasks, such as search, browse and pre-editing can be done with Dalet desktop tools; EDLs are then sent to the craft editor for finishing. Placeholders in the Dalet rundowns and content catalog are created for the final product. Metadata is maintained when importing/exporting projects from/to Dalet content catalog. Dalet Xtend is another example of how Dalet s open integration techniques streamline workflows and manage content across multiple systems. Specialized tools for Program Prep, Sports, News and Radio In addition to providing the enterprise MAM platform across all the different systems, Dalet Galaxy also drives and enables the media production workflow vertically for a wide range of scenarios, including specialized areas where unique toolsets are required. For instance, Dalet has packaged together a number of expert toolsets in their segment-specific solutions. These built-in tools dramatically improve productivity in complex workflows. Dalet News Suite offers a complete newsroom computer system along with desktop tools for video and multimedia news production; Sports Factory incorporates instant replay, sportsspecific logging and highlight creation tools; Media Life is ideal for program-prep and archiving with tools for QC, versioning, caption integration, subtitling and more. And of course, thanks to our open technology framework, any of these solutions can be integrated with other industry-standard tools.

Enterprise Readiness Distributed architecture and scalability Dalet Galaxy is built on a unique distributed architecture with multiple layers, each dedicated to a level of functionality and service. All layers use standard protocols and mechanisms for data synchronization, data exchange and external device control. Because it is completely distributed, the Dalet Galaxy architecture offers affordable software clustering over any number of servers. By simply adding more server CPUs, one can grow the system to support hundreds of concurrent users. By physically distributing application servers over several hosts across a server farm, it also provides high reliability, with no single point of failure. Open IT infrastructure The Dalet Galaxy architecture relies exclusively on open IT standards and IT infrastructure avoiding any proprietary equipment. This makes it easy to integrate in the IT environment and facilitate its overall maintenance. Therefore, the choice of components such as application servers, network, online and nearline storage belongs to our customers. In addition, Dalet architects specialized both in IT and broadcast infrastructures participate in the sizing of the overall solution. At the end, all of this helps optimize the overall TCO. Strong security management Dalet Galaxy offers a comprehensive management of user rights, protecting your assets and their value. All the assets, modules, tools, resources and operations in Dalet are subject to access rights. The system tracks each user operations in the Audit Trail database, making it easy to track who has accessed and performed operations on a given asset. The Dalet system is designed to support a log-on anywhere model. It controls for each media access rights for metadata, access right for essence files (proxy, HD,...), access rights for resources (ex: Crash Recorder, video editing Timeline, OnAir etc.), access rights for operations (media preview, export media, etc.) as well as access rights for categories and assets. Integrated administration tools Dalet Galaxy comes with a centralized administration module and a comprehensive dashboard. The Dalet Administration module allows administrators to configure every aspect of the systems. Administrators can centrally manage the following: J Design new workflows, modify existing workflows including user workflow and back office automation J Create new metadata fields, update existing metadata forms and create new ones J Manage user rights and permissions J Configure workspaces, fonts, colors, counters, views, etc. J Manage and configure connections with third party systems The Dalet Dashboard offers an incredibly powerful set of comprehensive tools to ensure system performance and update business activities. Dashboard gives administrators the capability to monitor, analyze and manage the Dalet Enterprise system, 3rd party integrations, as well as all operational and business processes of the Dalet workflow. The Dashboard interface shows system infrastructure and operations as a whole and in component parts - allowing administrators to tweak performance, optimize servers and storage, adjust load balances and eliminate workflow bottlenecks. Alerts and proactive intervention decrease the cost of maintenance andwreduce downtime. The administration tools make it easy for the administrators to fine tune every aspect of the system. www.dalet.com Dalet is a registered trademark of Dalet S.A.
