Steps to transforming radiology operations Collaboration is the key to any successful implementation, and GE Healthcare is ready to assist with deep expertise at every step in the process. Stakeholder alignment on objectives and expectations from beginning to end ensures successful achievement of desired results. Establish goals In this phase, radiology department leaders measure baseline performance and identify improvement areas, with defined targets based on internal and external benchmarks (built into the Analytics Real-time Dashboard). Technology adoption This phase includes installation and configuration of the application hardware and software, mapping of data sources and workflow systems, and the development of key performance indicators that will measure the productivity improvements. Training of staff members on the use and benefits of the system also takes place during this phase. Change management A cross-functional team is deployed to identify workflow changes, and staff members who will be accountable. This phase can be managed internally or with the aid of change management consultants, depending on the organization s needs. Monitoring continuous improvement KPIs are monitored for sustainable improvements in productivity and efficiency, and new areas for focus are identified. 8

Transforming radiology with actionable insights The Analytics Real-time Dashboard gives radiology departments visibility into their workflows to identify new opportunities for improving efficiency, productivity, and delivering enhanced patient care. Reducing patient wait times, increasing department throughput, enhancing patient care it s all possible with GE Centricity technology. 10
We have it color-coded, so that the patient indicators turn a different color when they get close to that turnaround time not being met. If they ve been waiting 30 minutes, they turn yellow. If they ve been waiting 45 minutes, they turn red. So at any given time, our staff can see at a glance when each procedure was ordered and how long it s taking for the exam to be done, and act accordingly.
