Reporting Relationship Self Service Guide Reporting Relationship Self Service through My Sac State enables university employees (faculty and staff) to view the name, department and position title for the supervisor they currently report to. This information can be accessed through the View Reporting Relationship link on the Employee Personal Information channel in My Sac State. In this guide you will learn how to access and navigate Reporting Relationship information. Access Reporting Relationship Page In order to view Reporting Relationship information you will need to: 1. Go to the My Sac State home page (http://my.csus.edu). 2. Log In to My Sac State by entering your Saclink Username and Password.
3. Once logged in to My Sac State, locate the Employee Center channel (i.e., box/section) on your Home tab and click on the Employee Center link. 2 4. The Employee Center page will open in a new tab or window (depending upon your browser settings). Select the View Reporting Relationship option from within the Employee Center. Navigate Reporting Relationship The Reporting Relationship page will display on your screen. On this page you will see two columns of information at the top. The column on the left displays your employee information while the column on the right displays information about your current supervisor. Employee Information: Name: Displays your First and Last Name. Department: Displays the department you currently work in.
3 Position Title: Displays your current position title. Supervisor Information: Reports To: Displays the name of your current supervisor. Department: Displays the department your supervisor works in. Position Title: Displays your supervisor s position title. 5. If there are employees that report to you, the information will be listed under Direct Reports for Employee Name as seen on the image above. The Direct Reports information will include: Employees Name: Last, First Employee ID: 9 digit number Rcd#: Employee Record Number Job Title: Employee s current job title Department: Current Department
4 View Employee s Direct Reports Button : This button displays only for those employees who have direct report. When you click on this button you are taken to the Direct Reports page for the Selected employee as shown in the image below. Click the Return to View Reporting Relationship link to go back to your main Reporting Relationship page. 6. Use the Download to Excel button to download the list of employees to excel if needed. 7. If you have a large list of Direct Report employees that span more than one page, you can use the navigation buttons to move through the information more easily. No Reports Scenario 8. If no one reports to you currently, the Reporting Relationship page will indicate No one reports to Name of Employee below your employee and supervisor information as displayed in the image below.
5 Reports to Vacant Position Scenario 9. If an employee currently reports to a vacant position, he/she will see the word Vacant next to the Reports To field on the Reporting Relationship page as shown in the following image. Reports to More than One Supervisor Scenario If an employee currently reports to more than one supervisor (e.g. an employee works in two part time positions and therefore reports to two supervisors), then the Reporting Relationship page will display the supervisor information for the employee s primary job. This will be indicated by an asterisk next to the employee s name in the Name Field and by the description of You may be reporting to more than one supervisor. The Reports To supervisor above is from your primary job information below the employee and supervisor information as shown in the image below.
6 10. After you are done reviewing the information be sure to logout of My Sac State by clicking on the Logout button 11. If you find that any of the information displayed in the Reporting Relationship page is incorrect, you will need to contact your current supervisor.
