With Child LifeAdvance, you may also have access to additional benefits: Illness Assist Benefit Provides you with a one time lump sum benefit of 10% of the critical illness benefit up to $25,000 Critical illness benefit is not reduced Benefit provided if the insured child receives a written diagnosis for one of the following: Ductal Breast Cancer, Early Prostate Cancer or Superficial Malignant Melanoma or if the insured child undergoes Coronary Angioplasty Surgery Advance Provides you with an advance of 10% of the critical illness benefit up to $15,000, if the insured child is diagnosed with a critical illness insured condition as defined in the policy, and requires surgery as a result of this condition. Conversion option upon policy expiration coverage for now, coverage for life The policy expires on the policy anniversary nearest the insured child s 25 th birthday. Two months prior to when the child is 25, the owner may apply to convert all or a portion of the coverage without underwriting to a critical illness insurance policy available for conversion. Child LifeAdvance optional benefit riders You also have the option to add a return of premium rider to the policy, providing you with a benefit if no claim is made for one of the critical illness insured conditions. Return of Premium at Expiry Rider Returns up to 100% of eligible premium to you on expiry of the policy at age 25 up to a maximum of $250,000. Return of Premium at Death Rider Returns 100% of eligible premium to you if the insured child dies up to a maximum of $250,000. Note on ownership: Child LifeAdvance critical illness insurance policies must be owned by an adult with an insurable interest in the child. For example, parents, grandparents, and legal guardians would qualify as owners.
