Logging into the system When your new reseller account is approved you will be emailed your username and password. Ensure this information is kept safe. Using your favourite internet browser, enter and proceed to the following address: http://www.secureapi.com.au/reseller Enter in your username and password as below: Syra Reseller Guide 3
Add Reseller Credit In order to place orders for products and services through your reseller console you will need to have a sufficient balance of account credit. Credit can be added by clicking Add Credit on the left hand side of the reseller console. Select the amount of credit you wish to add, enter in the payment details and click Add Credit as below: Click Update Reseller Account to apply changes. Syra Reseller Guide 4
Complete Account Setup Before getting started, there are a few account matters that should be completed. You will need to enter your bank details (for processing the withdrawal of account credit) and set the tax rate which your clients will be charged. After logging in you will see on the left hand side, under the Administration header, the Account Details button. Click this button and on the following page click Update Bank Details. This will allow you to edit the Bank Details and the Tax Rate & Name. Click Update Reseller Account to apply changes. Syra Reseller Guide 5
Setting up product pricing By default all pricing is set with little or no profit margin. You will need to follow the steps below to alter the pricing at which your clients can purchase products and services. To begin, click Set Product Pricing on the left hand side of your reseller console. The first page that loads will list the pricing. Enter the pricing which you want to set for your clients; the listed pricing is per year. Once you are satisfied with the domain name pricing, click Set New Price. You will then need to alter the pricing for the other product types. This is done by selecting the product type from the Select Product drop down at the top of the screen. Syra Reseller Guide 6
Setting up your Reseller Storefront By default, the reseller storefront is white labeled; it has no branding at all. An example can be found at http://resellername.secureapi.com.au. You have the option of leaving the storefront white labeled or customising the storefront to suit the theme of your businesses branding. You also have the option of addressing the storefront as a subdomain of the reseller system (e.g resellername.secureapi.com.au) or linking the storefront with your own domain name (resellerdomain.com). You can change how your storefront is setup by clicking Reseller Setup in the Reseller Console. Click Update Setup as below: Select the setup you wish to use and enter your domain name/subdomain into the appropriate field and click Update. OR You will also need to set the Log Out Redirect Page. This is the address which your clients will be forwarded to when logging out of their Member Console. Syra Reseller Guide 7
Setting up your Reseller Storefront (continued) When choosing the Domain Name setup option for your Reseller Storefront you will need to enter the A record with the hosting provider linked to the domain name of choice. The A record must be set to 203.170.87.147. Changes made to the storefront will not be seen until this is actioned. You can easily set up your reseller console using the DNS Hosting product available for purchase through your reseller control panel under New Hosting DNS Hosting Once the A record change takes effect, it will link with the reseller storefront and your clients will be able to visit resellerdomain.com to purchase your products and services. Please note that only your chosen storefront address can be configured using an A record, any additional domains or subdomains you wish to point at your storefront must use a redirect to this address. Customising your Reseller Storefront Once the storefront has been set up, the next step is to customise it to suit your branding. Click Reseller Setup in your Reseller Console and look for the Theme Management header. You are able to edit the Website CSS, Header and Footer. Website CSS allows you to alter your storefronts colours, fonts, backgrounds, margins and more. Website Header and Website Footer allow you to alter the HTML of the respective sections including the use of customised images, logos and information. Click the section you wish to edit, make adjustments and click Update to save. You can also Preview and Set Back to default your reseller storefront. Customising your Reseller Emails The reseller system is built to automatically manage your client email notifications. These include Order Confirmations, Status Updates, Renewal/Expiry Notices, Username/Password notifications and reminders, Invoicing and much more. The Reseller Emails can also be customised to suit your businesses branding. To make alterations to your email templates click Reseller Setup in the Reseller Console. Under the Email Management header click. Select the type of notification from the Notifications drop down box and then select the email you wish to edit by clicking Modify. You can edit the From Address, Subject and Content as below: Once you have finished editing the template you can test it by clicking Preview Notification or using the Send Test function below: If you are satisfied with your changes you can click Update to save them. Withdrawing accrued account credit Once your new domain & hosting portal is set up you will begin to make some profit and your account credit will quickly accrue. When you decide you want to withdraw some of those funds all you need to do is email resellers@syrahost.com with your Reseller Name/ID and the amount you wish to withdraw. The information will be forwarded to our accounts team who process all transactions at the end of each calendar month. A minimum of $100 AUD is required for a domestic deposit and $500 AUD for an international bank transfer. Requests are lodged with our accounts department on the first business day of each month, you are required to place yours a minimum of one business day prior to then. Syra Reseller Guide 11
Troubleshooting How do I move my Domains into my reseller account from my syra Reseller System retail account? To complete this you will need to do the following: 1. Create a member account by clicking Register New Member on the left of your control panel, follow the prompts. 2. Log into the new member account. 3. Choose the Add Domain option from the left hand side. 4. Enter the domain you want to move across to the new account. 5. Enter the password from the old member account. 6. Repeat for each domain. How do I move my Hosting packages into my reseller account from my syra Reseller System retail account? We are unable to move hosting accounts between the two systems, as they are separate for hosting packages. If you want them setup under the reseller account you will need to wait until the hosting is ready to expire and then buy a new hosting under the reseller account. Once done alert us and we will make the modifications on our end so as that you won't lose any data from your hosting. My Renewal prices are incorrect how do I fix this? By default domains and products renew at the price they were purchased. If you have changed this pricing you can reset it back to default via the reseller portal. In order to be able to do this, follow these simple steps: 1. Select the View Domains item under the Domains area on the left hand side. 2. Find and select the domain that has the incorrect pricing. 3. Under the Domain Details section there will be an Update Details link, select the link. 4. Under the Customer Price drop down box select the option Set to Default. 5. Click Update. Your pricing has now been reset and renewals will be processed at current set pricing. What is an EPP error and how do I fix it? An EPP error means we were unable to write a change to a registry, this occurs on attempting to register, transfer or renew a domain. It can be for a variety of reasons. As a reseller you won t be able to fix this, however we maintain a list of all current EPP errors and fix them ASAP. It is not necessary for you to report an EPP error unless there are additional complications or it hasn t been resolved within 48 hours between Monday-Friday. What are the default name servers for domains ordered through my reseller account and how can I change them? By default domain name servers are set to ns1/n2.parkme.com.au. This links to a whitelabeled park page that indicates the domain is parked. Syra Reseller Guide 12
To delegate the domain to the reseller hosting packages, the name servers must be set to ns3/ns4.parkme.com.au. If you wish to alter the default name servers for domains ordered through your reseller system follow these steps: 1. Click Reseller Setup from your reseller console. 2. Click Update Name Servers. 3. Enter the name servers you wish to set and click Submit Delegation. How can I transfer a domain name from another registrar? You can start a domain transfer by selecting Transfer Domain from the left hand side of your reseller console. When transferring a.au domain there is no payment required, unless the domain is within 90 days of expiry and you wish to renew at the same time. International domains are automatically renewed by the registry during a transfer. As such, payment is required to process these renewals. Can customers transfer their domain away? A client can transfer their domain names at any time and are not required to make you aware of the request. Transfers can be processed through other registrars using the domain password. A client may request the provision of their domain password at any time; this must be provided to them within 3 business days, in accordance with registry policy. Global domains must be at least 60 days old before they can be transferred. Syra Reseller Guide 13
FAQ Q. What name servers do I use for this hosting package? A. For both our Linux and Windows hosting use the nameservers ns3 and ns4.parkme.com.au. If you are using our hosted Exchange service then use ns1 and ns2.ultraexchange.com.au. For DNS hosting use ns1 and ns2.dnspackage.com. Q. Do you have an API I can use to integrate into my management system? A. Yes we do, you can find the documentation at: http://www.secureapi.com.au/reseller/docs/resellerapiguide.zip Q. Are you able to assist me in designing my own storefront? A. Unfortunately the only storefront we support is our own. Any custom designs cannot be supported by us. Q. Why is this domain stuck at Transfer Pending status? A. Domain transfers (with some exceptions, notably.uk) won t initiate until you have confirmed the transfer. When you successfully apply to transfer a domain an email is sent to the registrant contact email address to confirm the transfer. If this address is not active or not accessible then it can be confirmed by finding the notification in your notification list in both your reseller account and member accounts by clicking View Notifications and looking for the transfer confirmation notice, it can also be resent from here to an address of your choosing. Once the transfer has been confirmed the domain s status will change to Transfer In and finally it will change to Registered, Renewal Due or Expired depending on the registration period left on the domain. At this stage an email notification confirming the transfer is complete will be sent. In addition to this, once viewing the notification here you can resend it to an address of your choosing using the tool below the body of the notification. Q. I need to transfer a.co.uk domain, how can I do this? A. First apply for the transfer from your reseller control panel by clicking Transfer domain on the left hand side, follow the prompts. Once you ve placed the request ask the current registrar to change the domain s IPS tag to CRAZYDOMAINS-AU. Once this has been completed please let us know that we can finalise the transfer for you by notifying us at resellers@syrahost.com Q. Why can t I register a.au domain for more than 2 years? A. This is auda (Australian Domain Authority policy), AusRegistry, where all.au domains are registered will only allow 2 year registrations. Syra Reseller Guide 14
Q. I m trying to register a domain or product and when it asks me for username and it won t accept my reseller username, why is this? A. Purchases must be attached to a member account rather than a reseller account. You cannot make any purchases directly into your reseller account. Click Register New Member on the left hand side of your control panel and create yourself a member account. You can then use this username while registering domains/hosting for yourself. Q. I need to edit the php.ini file but I can t find it, can you do this for me? A. We control the server s default php.ini file, which sets PHP configurations for all accounts. You can override this for your hosting account by creating your own php.ini file in the home directory, i.e. the top-level folder on FTP. If you have issues with your custom php.ini file please email resellers@syrahost.com and we can assist. Q. My customer can t send via the SMTP service you provide, what s wrong and what can I do? A. Presuming it has been correctly configured then it is likely due to their ISP blocking access to the server. Unfortunately in this instance the only solution is to use the ISPs outgoing mail server. Q. How can I add/remove products from sale through my account? A. Note before: Please ensure you have a copy of any custom code you have added to your HTML header. If you log into your reseller control panel, click Reseller Setup on the left and then click Update Products. From here you may select which products you wish to make available to clients. After you have made your selection you will have to set your storefront s header back to default for the necessary code to be added for the menus. You can do this from the Reseller Setup page by clicking Update Header, then Set Back to Default and finally clicking Update. Q. Where can I find the transfer key/auth code for a domain? A. Use the search tool on the left of your reseller control panel to search for the domain, click on the domain in the results. Once viewing the details of the domain there is a link for Domain Password, this allows you to send it to the registrant contact, if this is not the intended address you ll have to modify the registrant contact on this page. Q. When will I receive my bank deposit for a Pay Credit request? A. Our accounts department process credit deposits at the start of each new month, it may take us up to 7 days to process all requests after the end of the previous month. You should also factor in interbank processing delays of up to 12 days. Syra Reseller Guide 16
