Fast-Track Onboarding for OEMs SmartEquip Efficiency Technologies for Manufacturers

Introducing a quick-start path for OEMs to join the SmartEquip Network. SmartEquip is pleased to announce a new fast-track onboarding service for manufacturers seeking to join the SmartEquip Network. Called SmartEquip Fast-Track Onboarding, this service is available to OEMs who wish to make parts, pricing, shipping, and other aftermarket transactional information available electronically, and in real time, to fleet owners using SmartEquip e-fleetpro and e-procurement technology. It also enables these users to place electronic parts orders quickly and accurately with their suppliers. Standard onboarding services provide e-mail and FAX-based parts-ordering capabilities, and OEMs have the option to use additional service extensions as well, providing B2B/EDI-based and deep-integrated order capabilities. Overview A growing number of fleet owners, including rental companies, contractors, and dealer-managed fleets, are using SmartEquip technology to streamline the procurement of parts and services from manufacturers and their dealers, as well as to manage the maintenance, repair, and operational management of their equipment fleets. For example, several of the 10 largest North American rental companies are users of this technology, and OEM participants on the SmartEquip Network include global suppliers such as JLG, Multiquip, Sullair, and Wacker Neuson. If the manufacturer fulfills parts orders via a dealer-based distribution system, the system can be configured to meet these requirements. Regardless of the mode of distribution and aftermarket support, the tremendous benefit of SmartEquip Fast-Track Onboarding is that OEMs can be up and running on the SmartEquip Network within a few days, thus offering tremendous aftermarket benefits to their end users, and saving much of the cost of transactions. 2 3

Giving your customers better service while lowering your cost of support. expand Expandability: SmartEquip Fast-Track Onboarding is highly modular and expandable and gives manufacturers the ability to grow their level of services according to their own needs as well as the needs of their customers. Therefore, while OEMs are able to join the SmartEquip Network virtually on the spot, they can also pursue a host of expansion options over the weeks and months that follow. These expansions cover (1) the level of integration with their existing order-taking processes or systems; (2) the richness of maintenance, repair, service, warranty, and operations information being made available to their customers; and (3) the ability to extend these offerings to an OEM-branded, web-based service offering, either as part of the OEM s present website, or as a stand-alone solution that is wholesale hosted and managed integrate by SmartEquip. SMARTER ordering SmartEquip eliminates customer order errors by up to 90%. inform Parts and Pricing Data: From Day One, OEMs can make available parts and pricing information, customized to the relevant discount and price levels for each individual user. These capabilities can be expanded to show the data structured by equipment model, type, and even serial number; they can be attached to interactive parts catalogs, allowing service technicians and parts managers to identify the required parts down to the serial number; and they can be structured to show supersession, obsolescence, suggested quantities, and a whole series of additional interactive, intelligent features to improve the services to the end user, while decreasing the number of misorders, as well as the cost of aftermarket support. And here, too, services can be added in a modular manner, once again allowing manufacturers an initial enable quick start onboarding, followed by subsequent expansion of support. Integration: From Day One, OEMs with SmartEquip s Fast-Track are able to receive electronically generated parts orders from their customers via email or fax. Manufacturers expecting a higher volume of parts orders may choose to join SmartEquip s B2B/EDI exchange, allowing them to receive orders directly within their own electronic order-taking systems. A number of our industry-leading manufacturers (such as JLG, Multiquip, and Wacker Neuson) have taken their customer responsiveness even further by installing SmartEquip s integration adapters, allowing their customers to see real-time inventory availability, shipping status, warranty status, and a host of other data from within their ERP systems. Regardless of the extent of integration they ultimately desire, SmartEquip Fast-Track Onboarding allows them to launch quickly and effectively in a matter of days. While SmartEquip Fast-Track Onboarding allows OEMs quickly to join SmartEquip s Fleet Support Network and thus interface with the software applications run by rental companies, contractors, dealers, and other fleet owners SmartEquip also offers a webbased extension that allows manufacturers to offer aftermarket support via their own websites, which can be hosted by them or by SmartEquip on their behalf. 4 5

OEMs will pay a one-time processing and data conversion fee of $2,499, and on a monthly basis will be charged only when orders are transacted through The SmartEquip Network. Under this pricing scheme, the first 500 orders per month will be charged at $5.83 per transaction. Per-transaction costs decrease with each additional volume band, down to $1.67 per order for orders between 4,584-5,000 per month. Please note that SmartEquip gives manufacturers the option to switch to an annual volume commitment plan which will tie costs to fixed transactionvolume bands. For OEMs with a consistently high transaction volume, this annual fee approach will offer significant savings on a per-order basis.
