1. Getting Started 1.1. Software & Other Pre-requisites The following pre-requisites must be met for optimum performance of the Clinical Audit Tool (CAT). Please ensure all pre-requisites are met before proceeding with the installation process: Your practice MUST be on MedTech32 Version 19.9 or above. If you ARE NOT on MedTech32 Version 19.9 or above, you cannot install CAT. Before installing the Clinical Audit Tool, please ensure that Medtech 32 has the latest MIMS updates installed. Before installing the Clinical Audit Tool, please run the Pre-install Check utility to determine if your machine environment meets the necessary pre-requisites to install and run CAT. Your practice MUST have MedTech32 in the Intranet (Local Network). Once CAT is integrated with Medtech32, CAT can be used through Citrix and Terminal Servers as well. Ensure that your machine has Internet Information Services (IIS) version 5.1 or higher installed before you install the Clinical Audit Tool. The Clinical Audit Tool requires.net Framework 2.0 or above installed on your machine/server. Whilst installing the Clinical Audit Tool the installer will check if the.net Framework 2.0 or above pre exists on your machine, and if not, it will prompt you to install it before proceeding further with the CAT installation. The Clinical Audit Tool requires the Data Direct ODBC Driver to be installed on your machine/server. Whilst installing the Clinical Audit Tool the installer will check if the Data Direct ODBC Driver pre exists on your machine, and if not, the installer will provide the option to install the Data Direct ODBC Driver. The Clinical Audit Tool is a browser based tool and it has been tested with Internet Explorer 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 beta and Firefox 3.0. Best performance was noted with Internet Explorer and it is therefore recommended that users run the Clinical Audit Tool with Internet Explorer. The Clinical Audit Tool uses Fusion Charts for its Graphing capability. Adobe Flash Player version 8 and above is required for this purpose. While running the Clinical Audit Tool for the first time on your machine there will be an automatic prompt which will guide you to the Adobe website to download the Flash Player. To check if your machine environment meets the pre-requisites for installation, click the Run the compatibility check now button. A Pre-install Check window will be opened displaying the pre-requisite settings on your particular machine. If your machine environment does not meet the pre-requisite requirements, the Pre-install Check utility will highlight which pre-requisites need to be updated. Selecting the Save and Close button will close the window and create an RTF file of your pre-installation settings. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 6 of 28

If your machine environment meets the pre-requisites, clicking the Next button will Display the Select Installation Folder, Browse to the correct drive where the Clinical Audit Tool will be install and click Next. Clicking the next button will start the installation process. The Installer will still check for the.net Framework 2.0 on the machine which is a prerequisite for CAT installation, and if uninstalled, it will inform you to install the framework first before you proceed further. Clicking the OK button will abort the CAT installation. If the.net Framework 2.0 is already installed, there will not be any screen prompting you to install it. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 7 of 28

After checking for the.net Framework 2.0 or above, the IBProvider Drivers will be installed. Please click Next for the install to start. If the IBProvider driver is already installed in your computer, there will not be any screen prompting you to install it. The License Agreement screen will be displayed. After the installation of the IBProvider driver is completed click the Finish button. After clicking the Finish Button, the installer will automatically detect the presence of Internet Information Service (IIS) version 5.1 or above in your system. If your machine does not have IIS version 5.1 or above installed, which is a pre-requisite for the CAT installation, then clicking the Finish button after the ODBC installation will display the IIS not found screen. Before proceeding further with the CAT installation, please install IIS version 5.1 or above. Refer to the Installing IIS in Windows section for installing IIS on your machine. Clicking the OK button will abort the CAT installation. On Windows 7 machines, IIS can be installed in parts, so it is possible that a pre-existing installation would have installed the partial components of the IIS. For this situation, the CAT installer will automatically detect if partial components have been installed and will display a prompt accordingly and abort the CAT installation. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 11 of 28

If IIS v5.1 or above already exists, the installer will install the remaining parts of CAT. The Installation will automatically select the database for the Clinical Audit Tool to be connected to, based on the Registry of the MedTech32 installation, and during the installation process a prompt will be shown giving the details of the database path and the machine name where the Clinical Audit Tool has been installed. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 12 of 28

If you are registered with HealthStat, you can import the screening terms that are specific for HealthStat queries into the Screening Mapper in CAT by selecting the tick box Yes, Import HealthStat screening Terms. Before the installation process is complete you can select if you would like to run the CAT Data Extraction Utility during the installation process, this utility will extract the data required for analysis from the MT32 database and will populate the CAT database. After selecting the check box click the OK button to run the extraction utility now during the installation process, if you don t select the check box and click the Ok button the CAT installation will be completed and then you can use the Windows scheduler to schedule the running of the extraction utility or this can be run manually (Please refer to section 1.5 & 1.6) Copyright Medtech Limited Page 13 of 28

When the installer has completed, the following screen will be displayed. Click the Finish button to complete the CAT installation. The user will then be prompted to restart their machine to complete the installation. Ensure that the computer is restarted before proceeding further. But if you have selected to run the data extraction utility during the installation process itself then you would have to wait till the extraction is done to restart your machine. The installation process will save the Clinical Audit Tool in a specific deployment folder titled MedtechCAT. The CAT installer will give this folder full access permission for ASP.NET automatically and this will be done for all systems be it XP, Vista or Windows server. Once CAT has been installed, log into Medtech32. To launch CAT, go to the CAT menu and select Launch Clinical Audit Tool as shown below. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 14 of 28
