SHAREPOINT CI AUTOMATES INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITIES FROM DATA COLLECTION, TO ANALYSIS, TO ACTION For winning companies, competitive intelligence is a catalyst for effective decision-making. It is part of their value chain to take available data and convert it into strategic decisions that produce results. All companies, whether large or small, need to have competitive intelligence activity. SharePoint CI delivers a powerhouse combination of capabilities. Simple to install and operational in days, the SharePoint CI suite is the first platform to combine the key intelligence areas of knowledge management, content management and research, to deliver an unprecedented powerhouse combination of capabilities to any CI operation. Key Benefits Simple to install and operational in days Automatically delivers custom content by audience type Easily created custom taxonomies that track issues and related themes Real-time results, alerts emails, pop-ups and scrolls Monitors key information sources automatically Fully integrated solution automates intelligence activities from data collection to analysis to action Actionable web-based intelligence 24/7 on your desktop CI DASHBOARD The CI Dashboard uses the CI Object Model, an out-of-the-box product that allows you to manage the basic building blocks of CI: companies, people, and resources. The portal is implemented to meet your needs, with the support of a dedicated Implementation Team. Your involvement in the project can vary from hands-on during the development period, to just receiving training post-project, on how to maintain it. With the CI Object Model, your CI Dashboard can answer the most important questions posed to the CI department: Talent recruitment: produce a list of candidates from our competitors Product research: should we develop a product in a given industry? Industry trends: who is moving in the same direction we are? Configurable - Templates are completely configurable using a UI that allows users to modify the underlying SQL database structure. Even if users have no experience with relational databases, the kmbuilder module will allow users to change the order of fields on data entry forms, match a particular workflow, create new fields to capture any piece of data, and change the behavior of fields (e.g. mandatory, repeatable). Designed for non-it staff to administer their own CI portals and databases, kmbuilder is the module that allows your database to grow and change without having to rely on the vendor or IT staff. Users will always find the perfect place to store that critical piece of data for their business.

Key user features: Aggregator merges internal and external content Save searches for users or groups Provide direct links to specific pages in the CI Portal Email alerts and distribution list management My favorite lists User supplied research or information Web data entry forms Upload documents, PDFs, and other digital files Integrated security / single sign-on to authenticate users automatically Searchable database DATA AGGREGATOR The suite s data aggregator merges internal content and external content sources as the first step towards building a total analytic picture. SHAREPOINT CI interfaces to gather content from any major industry standard DMS such as Hummingbird, Autonomy Interwoven and Net Documents. It then integrates external content from RSS feeds, Blogs, Email and other available content feeds along with website content from client-chosen federated search and website scraping vendors. Collaboration systems facilitate a further enrichment of intelligence data DATA ENRICHMENT The information handling capabilities of SydneyPLUS CI enriches data with its tool set of dynamic filters, custom data templates, cataloging capabilities, and a simplified data relationship-building process based on built-in classification, tagging and custom taxonomies. The result is a meta data foundation that lets subsequent analysis reveal hidden relationships in data. DATA ANALYSIS SharePoint CI is adaptable, providing both manual and automatic analysis capabilities. With its pre-built filters and file data-parsing capabilities, it can group and present data for analysis using client-specific custom categories such as industry, product and competitor. Collaboration systems facilitate a further enrichment of intelligence for optimized strategic decision making.

DID YOU KNOW! This application opens up a path to other SydneyPLUS SharePoint and.net solutions, such as: LawPort Information Manager Deal Tracker Experts Management System CI PUBLISHER The system s intelligence publication capabilities deliver critical information in a wide array of custom formats. Intelligence can be delivered through custom in-house SharePoint portals, to custom-designed Intelligence Dashboards that are unique to a client, industry or company. Content can be published via RSS, email, alerts, statistical and analytical Excel and PDF reports, custom-designed reports designed using Crystal Reports, and XML outputs that feed directly into in-house Document Management Systems. Context-sensitive components can display content that is targeted to a user or group based on their profile; the portal can show the most relevant content without the user having to perform a search or browse for the content. Publishing Wizard supports collaboration and captures knowledge. It allows your content management team, which may include department heads and staff, to submit their content, classify, and distribute it throughout the CI portal. DMS Integration is supported for all major vendors, allowing your users to not only rely on external information, but to augment their CI operations with internal documents and reports, and see an even more complete picture. The CI Dashboard is as much about looking outwards as it is inwards; gathering all available information to help gain the most complete competitive environment picture possible. Digital Media Interface (DMI) allows you to manage not only text content, but also any relevant electronic files such as PDFs, documents, images, videos or URLs. If you do not already have a DMS system in place, it can provide comparable functionality - storage of any files in the database with metadata, full-text searching of documents, version control, and record-level security. TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS CI ADMINISTRATOR Built-in administrative capabilities monitor CI information delivery processes (such as research requests) and deliver to CI managers, the statistical and financial reports needed to make data-driven CI program decisions. Real-time usage statistics inform the CI administrator of how well the CI portal is meeting the needs of users with anonymous usage statistics or user and group tracking. The system can track the searches and links that are being accessed through the CI portal for any electronic files such as documents, PDFs and PowerPoints. Report Writer allows the administrator to create reports using a selection of fields that go directly to a PDF, Excel CSV or tab-comma delimited format. Other features of Report Writer include a default dynamic report that always prints the data displayed on the screen, no matter how an end user personalizes it, and a user-generated ad hoc report that allows the end user to pick other data they want to print, that is not displayed on the screen.

Link Checker allows administrators to periodically check all URLs stored in a CI portal to ensure that they are functional. The Link Checker can be scheduled to run automatically and notify administrators by email, of any issues and even make recommendations with automatic diagnoses and specific HTTP response status codes. Never again, will users have to deal with the disappointment of broken links. Multi-lingual support allows you to automatically translate the entire UI into any language. Users can select their language of preference to see the entire CI portal presented in that language. The system supports Unicode for data entry, search, and display. RSS generator allows users to save any search, such as an RSS feed, so they can share the CI research throughout an intranet or extranet. The system can create custom RSS feeds for specific users, and deliver updates directly to their personalized pages. Global security settings allow you to use LDAP, AD, Novell, or a standard security model to authenticate users and apply permissions to groups and/or users. A multi-level hierarchical security model allows users to apply security at a specific level and have it cascade down, making it easy to allow or deny access at the table or field level. Built-in sandbox environment allows the CI administrator to change the look and feel of the portal or even add or remove functionality, without impacting end users until the changes are saved. You can preview your changes to the portal, and test it out before pushing the changes to the users. The Image Module, which will dynamically create thumbnail images, is critical in handling digital content. It provides more graphics on your CI portal and allows you to display harvested images in an easy-to-access format. Interested?
