Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Management Applications will be accepted until January 15. Each Cohort will begin with the Summer Residency.

What is the purpose of the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Management? To prepare scholars and top leaders to generate new knowledge and make significant contributions to the field of education Superintendency, or state or national leadership Presidency, or other college administrative roles

What are the Program Goals? Provide candidates with an advanced curriculum that focuses on relevant and current topics and issues in executive educational leadership; Focus on the core leadership competencies, dispositions, and applied research that executive educational leaders need to be effective in educational settings; Provide opportunities for candidates to focus their dissertation on actual problems in educational organizations, making the dissertation relevant and practical, and thereby encouraging organizational support; Provide candidates with access to a network of successful educational leaders and organizations to support their intellectual, professional, and career development.

What are the courses? I. Common Core (all candidates) Leadership and Management Core Sociopolitical and Cultural Contexts Core Connecting Leadership Theory to Practice Dynamics of Managing Organizational Performance Resource Allocation, Fundraising and Advancement Strategy, Strategic Planning, and Program Evaluation Dynamics of Innovation and Change History if PK-12 or Higher Education Policy, Ethics, and Politics in Education Diversity, Equity, and Cultural Competence Assessment, Evaluation, and Accountability Collaboration and Constituencies

What are the criteria? Program will accept 10 to 12 in each cohort Master s degree required (preferably in education) Experience in field of education is expected Licensure in PK-12 is preferred for that cognate area

Prepare to apply now! Completed Online Graduate Application for Admission, with payment of application fee; Students lacking a master s degree in Education must take the GRE and score 450 or higher or the MAT with a minimum score of 42; Two letters of recommendation; A resume and a prepared statement of career/professional experiences and plans.

Transfer Credits Transcripts from accredited institutions can be evaluated for transfer credit as long as a degree has not been awarded and it is a doctoral program. Transfer credit is assessed after admission by the program coodinator.

GRADUATION Program can be completed in as little as 2 ½ years Hampton University Graduate College degree, no notation of online Participation in commencement ceremonies on the main campus in May
