STELLAR PCS GmbH is a firstclass teleport service provider specialized in connecting America to the Middle East, Africa and Asia. STELLAR is the operator of various distribution platforms (IP Data and digital TV - DTH and DTC) for third parties such as IP resellers, satellite operators, TV stations, content owners, government organisations, Telecom companies and others. The permanent IP backbone throughput is some hundreds of MBits distributed over three different peering providers. STELLAR has access to about 80 satell ites and operates over 28 transponders, provid ing a wide range of, i.e. Data transmissions, TV and Radio Broadcasting, Technical, and Bandwidth access. Our expertise is to operate bi-directional IP and digital TV platforms. STELLAR also manages its own international fibre network. STELLAR is the owner of a 30,000 m 2 Teleport property including the Tele port building of 1,300 m 2. The property is elevat ed with excellent view angle also for low elevating satellites and has south-east direction. The facilities are located in a remote and secure hightechnology park in the suburbs of Cologne in Germany, with excellent access to the local infrastructure. Our history Our Christian Steffen is the CEO and founder of STELLAR DBS GmbH, which has received the Teleport of the Year Award for Excellence from World Teleport Association. STELLAR PCS was established in 1998 as a system and solution house for satellite communication. A growing demand from international customers for additional telecom encouraged STELLAR to build up an international Teleport facility which was established in 2001. At the end of 2001 STELLAR launched the first digital TV platform on the HotBird satellite system and the first Transatlantic fibre circuit to New York and further to Los Angeles was set up to service US customers. During the years STELLAR has developed its to meet new technologies including IP transit and bi-directional satellite based IP platform. This high skilled development gave STELLAR the World Teleport Award for Excellence from World Teleport Association. Since then the antenna park of STELLAR Teleport has grown constantly, now consisting of 60 antennas in 2011. This continuous development, together with the passion for technology and concern about close customer relations and human resources have made STELLAR the successful company it is today. STELLAR offers integrated end-to-end communications solutions to the world market. STELLAR fully understands all details of so called Triple Play applications; Broadband internet, Voice over Internet Protocol and Digital TV. From the teleport location in Cologne-Huerth up to 80 different geo-stationary satellites are reached with orbital positions between 58o West and 75o East. STELLAR operates about half of all the visible satellites with a wide range of. The Earth station antenna systems are constantly growing. At present there are around 60 antennas, whereof 28 antennas between 3.8 and 15.2 m in diameter. With these STELLAR operates about 28 satellite transponders. The theoretical coverage is from 100o West (East Half of North America) to about 130o East (West half of Australia).
