Mineral waterproof coating PCI Dichtschlämme 305 for basement walls, swimming pools and potable water tanks With official test certificate. FIELDS OF For indoor and outdoor use. For walls and floors. For the production of cement-based waterproofing in structural and civil engineering constructions, in new and old buildings. Waterproofing as a horizontal barrier around the base area. As an intermediate waterproofing under bituminous thick coatings. To waterproof exterior basement walls, wet locations, swimming pools, retaining walls, water reservoirs etc. to be applied to the side which is exposed to water. Subsequent internal waterproofing against ingress of water from the outside. PCI Dichtschlämme is plastic and workable, pores and cavities are easily and rapidly closed. FEATURES AND BENEFITS Waterproof and frost resistant, multi-purpose use indoors and out. Ready pre-mixed, to be mixed with water only. Plastic and workable, easy and smooth application. In accordance with the DVGW work sheet W347 and W270 (suitable for the application in potable water areas). Can be applied by brush or trowel. Secure adhesion, no primer or bonding agent required.

PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATE Suitable substrates are structurally sound concrete, at least strength class C 12/15 according to DIN EN 206-1, render of mortar group P III according to DIN V 18 550, masonry made of sand-lime bricks, joints filled with cement mortar. Hollow concrete blocks should be rendered before coating in accordance with mortar class P III of DIN V 18550. The substrate must be sound, practically even and fine-pored in the surface. It must be free from gaping cracks and ridges, dust, tar, pitch, water-repellent additives, forming oil, old paint or other bond-inhibiting residues. Smooth surfaces should be roughened with firm blasting agents (sandblasting). Fill voids and honeycombs on walls and floors with PCI Polycret 5, PCI Polycret 20 or with PCI Dichtschlämme (depending on the required layer thickness). Break edges and form covings with a minimum radius of 4 cm using PCI Repafix or a mixture of PCI Dichtschlämme and sand (grade 0 to 4 mm), mixing ratio 1:2. PROCEDURE PCI Dichtschlämme must be applied at least in two layers fully covering the substrate! The coating must have the required minimum thickness over its entire area to cope with exposure to water to be expected (see Technical Data/ Application). Application by brush Place 25 kg of PCI Dichtschlämme in a clean container and mix with approx. 5.9 litres of water to a lump-free consistency. Application by trowel or spray gun Place 25 kg of PCI Dichtschlämme in a clean container and mix with approx. 4.9 litres of water to a lump-free consistency. Use a suitable paddle (e.g. available from Collomix) attached to a high-speed electric drill. Thoroughly prewet the prepared substrate. During the application of the waterproof coating PCI Dichtschlämme the substrate must be damp, but not wet. Avoid puddles forming. Apply first coat by brush until the entire surface is saturated. Make sure that corners and rounded edges are fully covered. The coating must be applied in at least two layers fully covering the entire surface. When the layer thickness exceeds 4 mm the application of 3 layers is necessary. Apply second and third coat up to a maximum thickness of 5 mm, application either by brush or trowel as long as the previous coat is still damp but has not cured yet. PCI Dichtschlämme can be sprayed in multiple layers with regular mortar pumps (e.g. Putzmeister S 5, Wagner Plastcoat PC 25, PFT 2 NV) up to a total layer thickness of maximum 5 mm.
PROCEDURE To achieve a smooth surface the applied PCI Dichtschlämme which has already begun to set can be reworked with a moist flat bristle brush or float. Keep the fresh coating moist for at least 24 hours and protect it from direct sunlight, draught, rain and temperatures below +5 C for. PROTECTION OF THE COATING Do not backfill excavation before the coating has sufficiently cured (after approx. 5 days). Protect coating from being damaged by subsequent works, e.g. by a protective screed, insulating boards, foil or other surface coatings. Use mixed-grained and round-grained filling with a grain size < 32 mm. Install in layers and compact. Horizontal areas can be covered with screeds on an isolation layer or tiles in combination with PCI tile adhesives after. PLEASE NOTE The Guidelines for the planning and execution of waterproofing structural elements with mineral waterpoof coatings should be followed. Do not apply PCI Dichtschlämme at substrate temperatures below +5 C and above +25 C. Keep the fresh coating damp for at least 24 hours and protect it from extreme heat, direct sunlight, strong wind and rain for. It is expected that PCI Dichtschlämme will be damaged by water containing free, lime-aggressive carbon dioxide and/or by concrete-attacking water according to DIN 4030. Never add water or fresh slurry to reconstitute a PCI Dichtschlämme mix which has already begun to set. The addition of admixtures is not allowed. Do not backfill excavations with rubble, coarse stones or debris due to the risk of damaging the coating. PCI Seccoral or PCI Pecimor should be applied for crackbridging waterproofing. Suitable tools are available from Collomix GmbH, Horchstraße 2, 85080 Gaimersheim/Germany, www.collomix.de. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed by mechanical means. Shelf life: min. 12 months when stored in dry conditions, no permanent storage over +30 C.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PCI Dichtschlämme contains cement. Contact with moisture or gauging water sets off an alkaline reaction which may cause skin irritation and/or caustic burns to mucous membranes (e.g. eyes). Risk of serious damage to eyes, therefore avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. In case of contact with eyes immediately rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor. In case of contact with skin change contaminated clothing immediately and wash affected area with plenty of soap and water. Wear appropriate protective gloves (e.g. cotton gloves soaked in nitrile) and safety goggles/face protection during the application. If ingested seek prompt medical attention and show packaging or this product data sheet. Keep out of reach of children. Low in chromates.
