As a prepaid currency card. Cash Passport is all about putting you in control of your holiday money and making it easier to budget for your trip away. All charges are clear upfront so you ll know exactly what each transaction will cost. If you ve pre-loaded your travel money onto any of our foreign currency Cash Passport cards and use the card in the country of that currency, i.e. a US$ card in the USA, you ve locked in the exchange rate (if you rely an ordinary bank or credit card for cash withdrawals or payments abroad the exchange rates will fluctuate throughout your trip). Fees for Purchasing, Reloading and Cashing Out Cash Passport Cards At Travelex in Brookvale and Wollongong there are no fees when you open, reload or cash out a Cash Passport Card in a foreign currency. If the card you require is in Australian Dollars there is a initial fee of the higher of $15 or 1% (eg $25 on a $2,500 load). The fee for reloads is 1% of the value loaded. There is also a $10 fee to cash out a card in Australian Dollars. Fees When Using Cash Passport Cards Foreign Currency Cards There are no fees to use the Debit card to make purchases in shops. There is a fee of approximately $3.75 Australian Dollars to use the card to withdraw cash at an ATM. The rate is locked in at time of purchase and / or reload. The exchange rate will be worked out on the day that the transaction occurs.
