3 Actual Situation - For all big companies in Germany online recruiting is the main recruiting channel. - The mass of applications cannot be handled nor compared without structured online application forms - It is a disadvantage for candidates if they have to re-enter all their CV data again when they apply for jobs at different companies. - Most of the big companies are members of the JobStairs consortium. 3

4 The Solution - Find a way of how to exchange basic CV data between the different online recruiting systems of different companies. - First idea was to establish a direct way to exchange data between the systems! This was cancelled due to too many technical and administrative problems - Second idea was to define a standard format for exporting and importing basic CV data! Technical challenge in this case manageable! Only agreement about semantic is needed - The project should be organized as non for profit and open to everybody to join how covers the standard. - The standard should help making online applications easier not replace existing systems. 4

5 The process - There was a workgroup defined out of the JobStairs companies! Deutsche Lufthansa, Siemens, Infineon, Robert Bosch, Audi (members of jobstairs: - HR-XML s Candidate specification was chosen as export/import format. - Only contact information, educational history, employee history and language skills are used for exchange! All other information should be entered individually by the applicant according to the companies requirements 5

6 The process overview 1. Candidate enters her/his CV into the online application form of a company for the first time. 2. After finishing she/he has the possibility to export parts of her/his application. 3. If she/he is applying at a different company she/he has the possibility to import this CV data and parts of the online application form. 4. The candidate can concentrate on job and company specific information and text. 5. If candidates likes he/she can save it s data on external German CV Website 6

7 Progress so far - The group agreed on several codes and the overall structure! Hr-xml SEP 2.4 candidate! NACE up to level 3 for industry codes! The vocabulary from the eurydice catalogue for schools and educational institutions.! 0 to 4 levels for language skills! 0 for none until 4 for native speaker - Documentation/examples are written - Talks with potential partners are in progress (XING, Monster...) 7

8 Next steps - Setup website as one possible starting point and external place to save CV externally (eportfolio) (now) - Make pilot implementation (done) - Start implementation in Companies (continous) - Start website with blog (continous) - Find more partners/sponsors (continues) - Talks with European Union initiatives (June)! 9 Implementierung - Auf der Staging Umgebung von JobStairs ist ein erster Prototyp implementiert. - Nach Anpassungen im Back-Office für die Matching-Engine soll der Prototyp Mitte Mai in Produktion gehen. 9
