2 Intelligent Document Platform What is an eform Forms are used in processes, where unstructured data has to be transformed into structured data which is used as input for further processing. eforms are the electronic and interactive version of a form, supporting the user to complete the form and automating the data capturing process 2 Intelligent Document Platform Forms versus eforms Interactivity Data Input Data Capturing Data Quality Version management Process Costs Forms Forms are typically paper based, providing a static, non-interactive front end to the user Forms are static and have to be completed using a typewriter or in handwriting Data capturing, transfer to internal systems and data retrieval is manual Vulnerable to end-user data input or internal data capturing errors Outdated forms submitted by a customer have to be rejected and reedited by the customer High Process costs due to manual processing eforms eforms retain the look and feel of traditional paper forms, providing an interactive user front end Data input is supported by implemented business logic and interactive queries to core applications Data is automatically captured and transferred to internal systems and document management systems Improved data quality by interactive data input and automatic data capturing eforms can automatically check for new versions of an eform and download the eform update Process automation reduces process costs 3
