5 Use a keypad to program your alarm system from one convenient location. Arm and disarm the system, or program alarm responses like door lockdowns, sirens and law enforcement notification. The display indicates the source of an alarm. 1 2 Digital video recorders can capture both high-quality video and ATM transaction data on an internal hard drive. These network-ready products let you access images from virtually anywhere, and you can perform instant searches by date, time, transaction number and other ATM receipt text. Control who comes and goes in secure areas by managing access to doors, gates and elevators with an electronic proximity card reader. Some models require a user to key in a PIN number as well, for a second layer of security. 6 An electronic key box is an ideal place to store keys or access cards for emergency personnel. During emergencies, a firefighter or police officer uses a PIN-activated electronic key to open the box and access the keys or cards. Magnetic contacts sense when doors are open. Many models can detect attempts to pry off the contact or defeat it through use of a magnetic field. Some models are UL listed for use on safes and vaults. Discreet cameras provide sharp video images without announcing their presence. Anyone trying to assess your security system will pass right by them without noticing because they look like exit signs, smoke detectors, clocks and other common objects. 5 Cash- or card-processing center, interior Placed in a cash register drawer, the bill trap provides a discreet way to trigger an alarm. When all the money is removed from a drawer, the bill trap s switch closes and notifies the system without the robber or thief knowing. Pan-tilt-zoom dome cameras can cover large areas because of their 0º pan range. An operator can also control camera position using a joystick keypad or computer. Domes equipped with special day-night cameras are ideal for 24-hour surveillance. If anyone tampers with an ATM or tries to break into a vault, a seismic vibration detector will sense it. Advanced circuitry enables the detector to differentiate between real attacks and vibrations caused by service access or normal operation.
