1 JOHN HUBBELL S CAREER John Hubbell has had two overlapping careers for most of his working life, one of sport and one of business. First John Hubbell has participated in sport as an Olympic, International, national, regional and recreational level competitor, professional and amateur coach and sports administrator. His participation in sport started in 1958 and has lasted to the present. Secondly, John started his own business in 1972, and has been self-employed in entrepreneurial ventures up until In 1997, John Hubbell retired and sold his business in support of his wife s advancement of her career with a move to England. In England, he gravitated back to coaching and then as a third career, he now has entered the field of education, through teaching, then the study of teaching and provision through academics and now to a consulting business in education. Education Consulting In England, John entered the teaching profession, John has been teaching since He gravitated to the Social Emotional Behavioural Difficult student in the mainstream at school that he first taught. He was successful at this and decided to fully immerse him self in SEBD teaching. He did this by moving from mainstream to a SEBD special needs school from there he has been involved in active learning programs, and Pupil Referral Units. He also has undertaken a postgraduate study in the field of SEBD, earning a master in education at Kingston University studying the provision of SEBD. John is presently working on a business to set up private independent 14 to 18 special needs schools for the social emotional behavioural disabled student based on an educational system he has designed, that is based on an eight-year study of the SEBD educational system, and its provision. This investigation took the form of a practical employment experience, a rigorous academic study, and a three-year field study of best practice teaching situations. John also consults in Enterprise and Working Life Educational Curriculum, and gives lectures to students on business and life style related subjects. John has consulted with a venture capital firm in an acquisition of seven special educational needs schools where the capital raised was over 100,000,000. Business He started his business career as an owner-operator of a small manufacturing concern, his experience covered start-up, boom to bust, turn-around and divestiture.
