3 The DS Avvocati Santa Maria Ziccardi law firm is a most respected member of the professional and legal community of Italy; presently of 14 members, the firm is specializing in civil and business law matters, both domestic and international. The Law Firm, in its present structure, was opened on the 1st of January 2000, as the result of the combination of Francesco Santa Maria s Law Firm, opened in 1971 and Piero and Fabio Ziccardi s Law Firm, opened in In 2006, the firm joined DS law firm to follow its outward development with Italian companies. Since 2007, Alessandro Roda Bogetti has settled down in Shanghai to assist the Italian companies operating in China. In India, in compliance with the Indian regulations that presently do not allow the setting up of foreign law firms, DS law firms established a team of lawyers who travel to India on a regular basis. Antonio Santa Maria, being part of this team, is the director of the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Italy. DS law firms have established a specific taskforce that relies on well known Indian law firms with offices in New Delhi, Mumbay, Bangalore and Hyderabad, having in their teams lawyers educated in Anglo-American universities. Piero ZICCARDI Formerly professor of International Law at the University of Milan, member emeritus of the Institute of International Law, author of seven volumes of private and public International Law (including two lectures at the Academy of International Law of La Haye, The Characteristics of the International Legal System on 1958, and Rules of Organization and Rules of Behaviour in International Law on 1976). International and national arbitrator, Lawyer at the Supreme Court since Former consultant in the ECSC and EEC. Languages: Italian, French Fabio Emilio ZICCARDI Professor teaching civil comparative law at the Faculty of Political Sciences, State University of Milan. Author of five volumes and fifty or so other papers and articles on civil law, comparative law, international private law and arbitration law. Arbitrator in national and international proceedings. Professional experience: Domestic and international contract law, particularly relating to tenders and public procurements; competition law; domestic and international litigation, as well as arbitration; inheritance law. Elena SANTA MARIA Graduated with the highest marks in international law at the Milan State University and admitted to the bar association of Milan in 1997; Elena has been working with Santa Maria law firm since She is involved in international contracts and technology transfer agreements. She is experienced in civil laws, corporate laws, litigation, arbitration, and contributed to the realization of the book Liberalization of services of general interests under EU laws, Giappichelli edition, with the chapter The liberalization of postal services.

6 Giuseppe RAFFAELLI Graduated at the University of Milan in 1998, admitted to the Bar Association of Milan in 2001, joined the Santa Maria Law Firm in Giuseppe is specialized in commercial, insurance and bankruptcy law, he provides consultation to domestic and international clients who desire to operate in Italy. Raffaele RISPOLI Graduated at the University of Milan in 1996 with the highest marks, admitted to the Bar Association of Milan as of November 2000, Raffaele joined Santa Maria law firm in Involved in contracts law, corporate law and real estate law, Raffaele gained also a significant experience in litigation proceedings, including arbitrations. 7 Alessandro OSNATO Graduated in Law in the State University of Milan in 1996, admitted to the Milan Bar Association in 2000; after several years of practice in reputed Milan based law firms, he joined DS Santa Maria Ziccardi in early Alessandro is specialized in the law of industrial relations and labor law and assists the clients mainly in those matters. He is heading the department of labor law of the firm. Alessandro attended post graduate studies on labor matters at the LUISS University in Rome. Paolo CARLINI Graduated in law at the Milan University in In 2001 he served as advisor of the Consumers Association where he helped diffusing the knowledge of consumers rights. Before joining DS in 2011, Paolo practised in other prominent firms, he assisted clients in matters related to insurance and labor law. Paolo has extensive experience in industrial relations practice and immigration law, law of carriage and company law, and he cooperates with the labor law department of the firm.
