2 WELCOME TO MOC SPRINT CAMP 2013! After the last two years MOC Sprint Camps in Sicily and Gargano, we re happy to welcome you to join the Camp again, this time in Castellaneta, province of Taranto, on the footsole of Italy. I am very happy to see so many top-orienteers from many different countries to join the camp again! I hope that we (me, Goggi and the PWT-Italy-crew) are able to offer you high-quality trainings, nice social atmosphere and great Italian spring-weather with delicious Apulian cuisine to get a strong kick-off for the orienteering-season Looking forward to seeing you in Castellaneta! 4 INFORMATION OF THE TRAININGS Monday 11.3 Morning Nova Yardinia Theme Start-training; training the start-situation + the first part of the course as well as the situation with outer stress (other runners starting simultaneously) Map Nova Yardinia (2014) 1:4'000 / 5m Courses 3 x ca. 1500m = 5-8min Terrain A large (1000 x 500m) hotel-area with large and small buildings, fences, walls and different vegetation-details. Start Men: , women Group-starts of 3 people with 30 second-intervals. Re-starts 10 and 20 min after the first start of each runner. Start-lists will be published on March 10 th. Controls SportIdent Notice This is the area where we live in hope that you avoid seeing too much of the area before the training Warming-up outside the hotel-area! How to get there? Start: see the map Tuesday 12.3 Morning Matera North Theme Start-training and rhythm-change; training the start-situation + the first part of the course as well as the situation with quickly changing nature of the area. Big height-differences. Modelevent for MOC Stage 3. Map Matera (2013) 1:3 500 / 5m Courses 2 x 1-1,5km Terrain A combination of semi-modern and historical city-center with a steep slope. Start Women: , men Group-starts of 2 people with 30 second-intervals. Re-starts 15 and 30 min after the first start of each runner. Start-lists will be published on March 10 th. Controls Sportident Notice The area borders to MOC Stage 3 it is strictly forbidden to visit the area south and east of the training area! Warming-up north and west of the area. 5 Wednesday 13.3 Morning Theme Map Courses Terrain Start Controls Monopoli Sprint-qualification Monopoli (2010) 1:4 000 / 5m Men 1,8km; women 1,6km (straight-line). 3 parallel courses on each class. A fairly flat historical center. Between 11 and minute start-interval (start in groups of 3). Start-lists will be published on March 12 th. Sportident Sprint qualification speed = % of maximum 100% control - no mistakes Start-situation with other orienteers around -> full concentration from the first step How to get there? 90km/75min from the hotel see the map on page 6 and beside.
