7 Money goes mobile Infosys Products 60% of India is unbanked and relies on cash transactions. With mobile wallets, we ve made it possible to bank the unbanked. A leading telecom provider wanted technology that could power a mobile wallet service for cashless payments in India. Our team saw the opportunity for a scalable, cloud-based m-commerce platform. Today, this platform supports millions of customers across 800 locations and powers 3,500 transactions every second transferring money when and where it s most needed. Building next-gen aircrafts Infosys Engineering 50% of the cost of flying is from engine fuel burn. We ve ensured the fuel savings for each plane is the eco-equivalent of 7,000 cars off our roads all year! One of the world s most famous aircraft manufacturers wanted to design lightweight wings and fuselage to make their commercial planes more fuel-efficient. Our team sensed the possibility to create a prototype fuselage with advanced composite materials. The result: a fuselage that has 80% lesser parts than a typical metallic fuselage, and our client s airplanes burning 25% less fuel today. Saving lives with technology Infosys Services There are 50,000 bushfires in Australia every year, impacting the lives of thousands of people. These people are now safer. A leading telecom company needed to build a national emergency warning system for use across Australia. Our team delivered a life-altering concept literally. Before the next bushfire season a few weeks away, they had designed a solution. As a result, over 7.7 million alerts have been sent, saving lives and homes from natural and community disasters throughout Australia.
