Call to order The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:00pm. II. Roll call/introductions The attendees did self-introductions. The Chair routed an attendance sheet. III. Approval of minutes from Annual Assembly (pp. 5-8) The Chair presented the minutes from Annual Assembly (7/10/2014). Coby Condrey motioned to approve the minutes; Melissa Johnson seconded; the motion passed unanimously. IV. Update from Planning Committee Group discussion about the future of the Reference and Information Services Round Table. With dwindling membership and dwindling interest in the RISRT, is it time to sunset this round table? Reference is becoming something else: instruction and outreach. 1

Carol Tenopir reference guru and Chancellor s Professor at SLIS University of Tennessee (Coby) Dr. Tenopir has published over 200 journal articles, is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, and for 28 years wrote the "Online Databases" column for Library Journal. She is the recipient of the 2009 Award of Merit from the American Society for Information Science & Technology (ASIST), the 2002 ASIST Research Award, and the 1993 ASIST Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award. In addition, Dr. Tenopir received the 2010 Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Illinois GSLIS, the 2000 ALISE Award for Teaching Excellence, and the 2004 International Information Industry Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Tenopir holds a PhD degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. 2

Update from Texas Reference Source Award Committee Jeffrey Levy a) Recipients need to tie back to the award b) The winners have a two-year limitation so the same entities don t always win c) Christy will market the award with other committees d) Use Tumbler to promote Texas Reference Source Award VII. Annual Conference Stipend Winner Catherine Urban, Amarillo Public Library The 2015 RIRST Annual Conference Stipend winner is Catherine Urban of the Amarillo Public Library (APL). Catherine is an administrative assistant at APL and a facilitator for their Benefit Bank which provides one portal access to multiple government agencies. The Benefit Bank was designed for low income patrons but is popular with all APL patrons. Catherine Urban, Amarillo Public Library 2015 RIRST Conference Stipend Winner Catherine has two master s degrees: an MLIS from the University of North Texas and a MA in Philology from the University of Arizona, Tuscon. 3
