2 History 1994 Monetel (France) wins the city tender for a new fare collection system in Warsaw City Council accepts appendix to the contract with Monetel. As a result each bus, tram and underground station was equipped with electronic validating machines for WCC and paper ticket with a magnetic strip. Warsaw has gained one of the world s most modern fare collection system.

4 Contactless card MIFARE is the NXP Semiconductors (a spin-off company formed out of Philips Semiconductors)-owned trademark of the reputedly most widely installed contactless smartcard (MIFARE Standard 1k)
5 Contacless card A contactless smart card is in any pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits which can process and store data. This implies that it can receive input which is processed and delivered as an output via radio frequencies. Standard contactless smartcard allows for communications at distances up to 10 cm. Thanks to contactless technology: it is very easy to use such a card, contactless smartcards are more durable than magnetic or chip cards which need physical contact with the reader.

8 Parking application - infrastructure about parking spaces in the city centre parking meters: coins mobile phone WCC the monthly volume of parking fees by WCC: zł WCC s parking application is similar to electronic wallet!
9 Warsaw citizens and tourists are able to code various types of tickets at WCC: 24h, 3-day travelcard, 7-day travelcard, 14-day travelcard, 30-day travelcard, 90-day travelcard, pass for senior citizens.
10 The sale network of ZTM tickets includes the following channels: * Punkt Obsługi Pasażerów ZTM (ZTM Passenger Service Centres) * Post offices * Points of sale and ticket vending machines STREFA network ASEC network * Other selected and marked ticket sale points * Supplementary sale available on vehicles There is also possibility to buy tickets over a mobile phone and Internet.

13 Personalized WCC convenience No need to show identity card during ticket inspection, No need to signature your WCC, A possibility to return and get refund a part of the ticket in case of losing WCC, One carrier can be used up to 10 years!
14 Personalized WCC savings Personalization WCC causes less amount of emitted carriers, Before personalization WPTA emitted more than WCCs (1,2 million zł), In 2009 WPTA emitted about nonpersonalized WCCs, assessment of savings: zł.

16 Applications Integration with Student Card (SC) SCs in Warsaw are hybrids. They are equipped both with touch microchip and contactless MIFARE interface, about pcs. of SC have been emitted till this time, WCC s functions are implemented on SC thanks to agreements between WPTA and several Universities (25).
