4 1. SAFETY RULES TNL-100ALII, -120ALII AND -130AII 1.1. General Safety 1. The machine should be operated by the trained personnel. 2. The use of the machine should not be against the instruction of the Operation manual. 3. The area between the operation section of the machine should be equipped with appropriate lighting. 4. The drill for fire and rescue of the fire should be enacted according to the regulations of the law. 5. The floor of the factory shall keep clean, the path shall keep flow, there is no material shall be stacked near the machine to hinder the safety operation. 6. It is advised to wear appropriate safety shoes to protect the feet inside the factory. 7. When doing cutting, fluid bouncing operation, please wear safety goggles to protect your eyes. 8. When working near the moving and rotating parts of the machine, please wear safety goggles to protect your eyes. 9. Be sure to button up the sleeve cuff and leg cuff of the working clothes. 10. The long hair must be tied neat and put under the cap. 11. The necklace, necktie must be taken off or wear inside the working clothes. 12. Do not operate or maintain the machine after drinking or feeling not well; the leader shall prohibit the workers to operate or maintain the machine under such condition. 13. Do not climb the machine, if necessary, please use steady ladder. 14. Do not use hand or body to contact the moving parts of the machine. 15. Do not use rag, wrench or similar items to contact the moving parts of the machine. 16. Do not open the control box, wiring box or other covers without permission. 17. Do not use screwdriver, wrench as the lever or hammer. 18. Do not clean the machine, electric control box or NC device with air compressor. 19. When test run or cutting working pieces, before the drive axle stops, do not pull the safety door and all viewing windows open Handling safety rules 1. Before carrying out the handling operation, the worker shall be trained to get familiar with such operation. 2. Before carrying out the handling operation, please be sure: The weight of the handling item and the position of the gravity. Which kind of sling and ring shall be used? The sling shall be perpendicular to the ground or have angles? The degree of the angle will affect its capacity to handle work pieces. If there is enough working space? Will the sling damage the appearance of the machine? Are special tools required? 3. Do not use the improper handling tools because of economic reason to save time and money. 4. 5 use it. 5. The lower the lift the better the handling ability. 6. Before lifting away, make sure the sling is at even strength and not sliding, at the lifting away moment, inspect by eyes its balance, make sure it is correct then lift up to the desired height. 7. If there is pointed angle or sharp edge where the sling passing through, a proper protection shall be taken. 8. The piping and wiring which will hinder the handling shall be torn down before hanging. 9. The items to be lifted must be steady during up and down, do not start or stop suddenly or moving slowly deliberately. 10. The items to be lifted shall not have any loosing parts, tools or cuttings etc. 11. Do not stand under the items to be lifted, or put any part of the body on the items to be lifted Safety rules for use of this machine All metal cutting machine tools have high horse power, sharp cutter, fast moving or rotating pieces, high voltage and automatic functions which are required, otherwise, they will be unable to meet your requirements. But there are potential hazards existed! On the process of the metal cutting, there are always bouncing swarfs, high temperature cutting and working pieces, sharp angles and burrs, etc. to present and form, otherwise, it is impossible to complete the mission but, again, there are potential hazards and this machine is not an exception. In order to have a safe use of this machine, all operators, maintenance personnel, leader and other workers who are likely to expose under such hazards will must follow the safety instructions. People who are involved in use of this machine will have to go through proper training, and must have necessary knowledge and skills, if assistance is required, please contact our factory, agent or service centre. To follow the following safety instructions will minimize the possibility of personal injury resulting from the improper use of this machine. 1. Before starting this machine, make sure all non-operators have been out of the dangerous zone of this machine. 2. To read the operation manual carefully then use according to the safety instruction, if there is any question, please contact our factory. 3. Do not take apart the protective devices such as, face cover, linking device, emergency stop button and ground wire, etc., if there is any inappropriate function, please contact our factory immediately. 4. Do not take apart the warning devices such as, siren, instructions, warning indications, etc., if there are inappropriate functions or indications, please contact our factory. 5. Please execute safety check and maintenance according to the rules of the operation manual. 6. Please make sure you know how to stop the machine before starting this machine. 7. Please make sure the function of each button before starting this machine. 8. Before the drive axle and each feeding axle stop, do not contact the cutters or working pieces. 6 9. Before the drive axle and each feeding axle stop, do not clean swarfs or mount/dismount cutters of the working pieces. 10. Do not use dull or damaged cutters. 11. Before the axle stops, do not pull the safety door and all viewing windows open. 12. After the working pieces are clipped, use the low revolution speed to make sure the balance is good. 13. Do not use low burning point cutting fluid. 14. Before applying program for automatic processing, use dry run to make sure the program is correct. 15. For long working pieces operation, make sure to use top hold down to help clipping. 16. After the working pieces stop, do not release the claw before catch it. 17. Long or heavy working pieces shall be held with two hands, the gravity shall fall between the two hands. 18. The working pieces over 10 KGS shall use handling equipment to help loading and unloading of the working pieces. 19. When using two top hold down devices to clip the head, the head must be torn down, please follow the dismount procedure to proceed with. 20. When proceeding with top hold down process, prohibited to cut from the drive axle to the tail stock, otherwise the top hold down of the tail stock may retreat and cause working pieces to detach or bounce out. 21. Make sure the position and cutting speed between the cutter and the working pieces is correct. 22. Do not try to stop the operation of the machine by hand, wait until it stops completely to proceed with the next step. 23. Do not ling on the control panel with your body to prevent accidental touch. 24. Unless having been trained and permitted, otherwise, do not try to maintain this machine. 25. Please follow the safety rules of other chapters at the same time. When the stick working pieces length is longer than the rotating cylinder, please use slow speed to check the vibration situation, if the vibration is too serious, use bar feeder to support the working pieces, and prohibit any one to get into the working area during the process Electric safety rules 1. This machine uses 220 VAC voltage to send to main power source switch directly or through transformer to change into 220 VAC. Please note: the touch of this voltage will cause death. 2. The rear of this machine shall leave enough room for opening control box door when doing maintenance or making adjustment, there is a PE connecting point inside the control box, please connect it with the outside protective conductor(ground wire) to establish complete protective grounding. 3. Any maintenance or adjustment regarding electric or electronic must be executed by trained and capable Technician. 4. Before opening the control box door, turn off the power source switch. 5. In order to prevent the danger for being sent in electric by mistake, it is best after turning off the power source: to lock the switch at off. to dismount the fuse; or to hang a "prohibit to send electricity label; or to ask another person to watch beside you. 7. No protective linking device shall be dismounted, neither by pass the wiring. 8. Pay attention to all warning indication before operation and read the electric circuit scheme carefully. 9. Use tools of non-insulation material only. 10. Do not use the fuse over the designated specification, neither jump with metal wire. 11. To change any conductor wire must make sure to comply with the original route and colour. 12. Upon completion of operation, windows and covers shall be filled and closed to restore the original condition, do not damage the IP rating. 13. Before delivery of the electricity, be sure there is no one doing other operation on the machine. 14. The electricity delivery system of the company where has no grounding area, please be sure to bury brass stick underground (to make the resistor under 100 ohm), and connect at the PE point inside the control box. 15. 12 2. MACHINERY OUTLINE TNL-100ALII, -120ALII AND -130AII 2.1. Brief introduction of this machine This machine is a delicate product manufactured by Tong Tai, the TOPPER TNL- 100ALII/120ALII/130AII, which is for Metal Lathe* Cutting especially; it may also add special attachments to increase the milling cutting function. Note 1: TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII preset processing objects are, iron, die castings, aluminium, copper, stainless steel, alloy steel etc., metal material, the plastic was once taken into consideration, only that whether it contains poison or not must ask the plastic manufacturers. As for other material of working pieces, if wish to use this machine to process, due to there is an all enclosed cover, basically it is feasible, but still to take safety as priority consideration, and consult our personnel first. This machine is equipped with automatic oil pressure chuck, the major operation method is at the chuck head, the centre of the tail-stock can help chucking, if necessary, the chuck can be dismounted, modify the panel or working on two centres which keep in mind not to do cutting from the drive axle toward the tail-stock as the centre of the tail-stock is supported by oil pressure, when the force of the oil pressure is not equal to the force of the cutting, the working piece may retreat a little bit and change the chucking condition which will affect the precision of the working piece or sometimes facing the danger that the working piece bounce out. This machine uses NC controller to meet the requirements of the customers to install FANUC 0i-TC type, or 0i-Mate type, before using, please read the manual of the controller carefully and get familiar with the program writing method and parameter function; before using program to control the cutting, be sure use dry run to ensure the program is correct. This machine has auto operation type and hand operated type, each type can be further divided for different purpose operation, please do not change the operation type during the process of the cutting. Before using this machine, please be sure to read the operation manual of this machine Noise standard The Noise standard of the TOPPER TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII is under 80 dba, the test condition of the factory is as following: 1. 30 3. PREPARATION BEFORE SET-UP MACHINE 3.1. Requirements of the space The machine size of TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII is (2759.5) mm long, 1830 mm wide, 1725 mm high, a side wharf disposal changes to (3494.5) mm long, 1830 mm wide, 1725 mm high, and if added an wharf collection cart it becomes (3618.5) mm long, 1830 mm wide, 1725 mm high, (please refer to P.2-4-1). While installed with a back wharf accumulator it becomes (2759.5) mm long, 2155 mm wide, 1725 mm high, and to add a accumulator cart will become (2759.5) mm long, 2260 mm wide, 1725 mm high (Please refer to P.2-4-1). Above mentioned sizes are space sizes for machine completing installation, actually, when you plan a factory layout, please take the following factors into consideration: 1. Room for in/out when installed, and for move around on the walkway. 2. The required height for up/down of the lifter or handling of the hoist. 3. When operating, the moving space for operator and working pieces in front of the machine. 4. The room for installation, for model TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII please refer to P , 3-1-3, It is advised to leave at least 1 meter on the surrounding of the machine as safety walkway. 32 3.2. Requirements of the foundation Any machine requires hard and steady foundation, TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII is no exception, good foundation pluses accurate horizontal adjustment are two of the necessary conditions for the machine to take the precision processing capability into fully play. In addition, to choose the site with less vibration and good ventilation and to avoid direct sunshine etc., heat influence to install TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII is very important. Upon decided the site prepared for installation of this machine, please follow the figure on P.40 to work on good foundation engineer, and please pay attention to the follows: 1. The earth at the bottom of the lathe shall have resistance over 5 TONS/M. 2. The grinding stones paved at the bottom of the lathe shall have thickness over 300mm. 3. The cement filled between the grinding stones shall have thickness over 300mm. 4. No brick style concrete shall be used to stack as the cement foundation as it has very bad effects. 34 3.3. Requirements of the environment Principally, this machine shall be installed under the following conditions. However, these conditions may be subject to area or seasons, if the difference is too much, you should consider other control measures: 1. Humidity: +5 C ~ +40 C. 2. Relative humidity: 30% ~ 50%(no steam shall be formed) 3. Atmosphere: no excessive dust, acid air, rotten air or salt. 4. Good ventilation, no direct sunshine and stay away from heat source. 5. Shall be at site that is away from vibration source such as keep away from punching & cutting machine, roads with rushed traffic, etc. 6. Shall be away from electric-magnetic interference source sites such as: electric welding machinery, electric discharge processing machinery, radar station, etc. If there is any problem, please contact our factory, agent or service centre for service. Requirements of power source 1. Power source: 220±10% VAC(Standard); or % VAC(to install a transformer by our company). 2. Frequency: 60±1% Hz (Standard); or % Hz. 3. Wire size: 22 mm 4. The sensitivity of the breaker on testing electric leaking of the power source. 5. Grounding: The control box at the rear of this machine has an External protective conductor connection point labelled with PE, please connect with the PE conductor of the power system; the size of this conductor shall be above 22mm. If there is no PE conductor on the power system, then prepare a brass stick at meter away from the underground, and connect this grounding to the PE terminal of the control box, the resistor of the grounding shall be under 100 ohm. 6. Specification of the fuse: 75A (For Asia) 7. Oil pressure power source: The power of the oil pressure system is supplied by the machine itself, no external connection required. 8. Air compress source: General standard type no need to use air compressor, but if auto gate function added, there is an external compressing air required, the pressure is 5kg/cm 2, the air consumption for each auto gate action is 1.3 litres Requirements of power source 1. Electric vo.ltage:220v±10%vac (Standard) or 380±10%VAC (Transformer). 2. Electric frequency: 60±l% Hz (Standard) or 50±1% Hz. 3. Electric cable: 22 mm. 4. Inspected the leakage of electric sensitive will be 50mA. 5. Conductor inside of cabinet there will a external protective conductor mark PE please connect with electric system PE cable and the cable diameter will be 22mm.If electric system on PE cable, please insert a brass bar on the ground and connect to the cabinet PE point and the resistance will be 100 ohm below. 35 6. Fuse type: 80 A. (CE MARK) 7. Hydraulic source the standard machine do not need import the hydraulic source. 8. Pneumatic source the standard machine do not need the air compressor, if add auto door that there will be needed air compressor and the pressure is 5 Kg/cm 2, one time for auto door need 1.3 litres. 36 4. TRANSPORTATION, STORAGE AND INSTALLATION 4.1. Transportation and storage The Gross Weight of TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII is 4400 kgs, and Net Weight is 3500 kgs. Before the box is opened, or the machine itself after opening the box may use the fork lift to move or the handling equipment of the lifting machine, no matter which means employed, please watch the loading ability and the moving space, especially the height, factory building and if the height of the lifting machine is low may lead to the angle of the sling too much, then take these factors on the following into consideration: 1. The loading ability will decline a great deal. 2. The sling may slide off from the hook. 3. The horizontal force of the sling may damage the machine or its parts. If experiencing above risk, please consider to use lifter with proper loading ability to transport. The label on the box indicating where the sling and handling equipment and the lifter fork position, this is very important information, please refer to it carefully. Please fever to the figure on P.4-1-2,4-1-3,4-1-4 for moving the machine, when moving, please be careful to keep the machine on horizontal and balance position. The case of the TNL-100ALII/120ALII/130AII is of foil pack, if the machine is not damaged on the process of machine transportation, it may be kept for a longer period; if the pack has been opened, please follow the instruction on Chapter 5 to clean and lubricate the machine, if it is going to stop using for a long time, please be careful on handling humidity proof and anti-rust problem. When taking off the box, please start from the cover, then the side plates on the four sides, be careful to pull off the nails at this time to prevent from damage accident happening. 37 4.2. Installation 1. When the machine is moved to the preset cite, please put down slowly to prevent from strong friction with the ground. 2. This machine is supported by 6 horizontal studs totally, please prepare beforehanded, when the machine is getting close to the ground, stop temporarily, and put on the 6 studs and put in the casting iron packing-up block, then put down the machine slowly. Please refer to P.38 for the illustration. 3. Loose the sling and untie after the machine position is confirmed, then the installation is complete. 4. Upon the machine installed, please check the 6 horizontal adjusting studs and the packing-up block, then make the thrust united, the studs shall be at the central position of the packing-up block. 5. To measure the height of the front side plate work to the ground, this height shall be higher than that of the cutting bucket of the wharf disposer (30 mm) The connection of the power source wire 1. The power source voltage of this machine is of 3-phase, 60 Hz, 380 VAC to send to the major power sauce switch, or through the external transformer of the 3-phase, 60 Hz, 380 VAC to change into 3-phase, 60 Hz, 220 VAC, then connect to the major power source switch. Warning: To touch the voltage of this machine may lead to death. 2. The power source wire is connected from the control box of this machine at the rear side. 3. Please take out the desiccant inside the control box and operation box. 4. The connection of the power source wire to the major power switch is as follows: P49 (Fig.2) Warning: The handling procedure at this chapter must be executed by the trained and qualified electric technician who also must comply with the safety regulations to prevent from electric shock. 5. 38 Off position, when completing 5-3 safety check, do not discharge electric, it is best to put a hang lock of the power switch at OFF position as shown on following: 6. Grounding: The control box at the rear of this machine has an External protective conductor terminal labelled with PE, please connect with the PE conductor of the power system; the diameter of this conductor shall be above 22 mm. If there is no PE conductor on the power system, then connect the PE pin with the grounding wire based on the description of P section. 40 5. PREPARATION BEFORE TEST RUN TNL-100ALII, -120ALII AND -130AII 5.1. Cleaning and lubrication 1. This machine has been through anti-rust treatment before sending out from the factory, and to lock up the X, Z axles and tail stock with fixed frame, when the machine is completing installation, please dismount the fixed frame, and then use a rag to dap a little oil to clean the anti-rust oil all over the machine. Warning: Please do not the use air compressor to clean the machine because foreign objects such as dust and miscellaneous will bounce into the connection or the rift of other parts which will damage the surface. 2. When dismount knife rack and the water-proof tape of the chuck and the handling equipment. 3. After cleaning the machine, please add hydraulic oil lubricant and cutting liquid. Warning: Before proceed with the cleaning at this chapter, please confirm the power switch lock up at Off position, anion the process do not discharge the electricity. 4. Please set the lubricant pump output amount at 12-minute interval for 5-second in feeding of oil (the amount has been set before ex-factory, please reconfirm), and use manual feeding oil for several times Horizontal adjustment Horizontal adjustment is very important and may decide the precision of the machine. The horizontal adjustment of the machine is very easy, but will affect the processing precision and the life of the machine. Therefore, please follow the following procedures to adjust the machine. First, use the packing-up block to make a good base,(p.3-2-2) then adjust the bottom bed studs and fix. Next, put the level above the tailstock (please refer to P.5-2-2). Now, move tailstock to the total stroke. (TNL-100 ALII/120 ALII/13 0 All 600 mm/23.6 inch). (Do not interfere the chuck and tail stock). Adjust until the allowance is 0.04 mm/m ( inch/ft). Level precision is 0.02 mm/m ( inch/ft). The surface for laying the level must be cleaned up. Please screw up the basic studs. In order to control the degree of horizontal, please do not use plastic mud to fix the machine. If the working pieces are abnormal and uneven, please use a anchor shape stud to resist against and to fix the machine. 42 5.3. Safety check In order to ensure your safety and the normal operation of the machine, please proceed with safety check of the machine based on the following check and inspection table: A. Check before delivery of electricity 1. Please make sure the power source is 3-phase, 60 Hz, 220 VAC. 2. Please make sure the power source wire diameter is 22 mm, and the phase is correct. 3. Please make sure the external protective conductor (grounding) has been installed. 4. Please make sure the power source supply side has equipped with a leaking breaker which meet the specification requirement, (sensitivity 50 A). 5. Please make sure the fixed rack has been dismounted. 6. Please make sure the chuck has been clipped tight, and there is no any loose and disposition material allowed. 7. Please insert the accessory plug in the chuck in the course of machining non-bar material, in order to prevent coolant and chips from getting backwards into the puller. 8. Please check weekly whether chips have been accumulated behind the cover of the coolant collector at the chuck puller; clean it if necessary. Lack of cleaning may result in damage of the puller. 9. Please make sure the basic screw has been screwed up. 10. Please make sure the cutting bucket plate work has been fixed and the position of the cutting is normal. 11. Please make sure the oil and water pipes did not loose and the cutting water level is normal. 12. Please make sure the face cover and safety gate are intact. 13. Please make sure the lubricant has filled up the pipe. 14. Please make sure the oil pressure sump has adequate oil pressure oil. 15. Please make sure there are no any loose items above the knife rack. 16. Please make sure the limit switch and dog have not moved. 17. Please make sure the driving belt of the drive axle has been installed and have not loosened. 18. Please make sure there is no foreign object surrounding the machine. B. Check after delivery of electricity Attention: before executing this operation, please read Chapter 6 carefully, so as to understand the button pressing function and the opening procedure of the machine. 1. Make sure the oil pressure oil pump and cutting water pump are turning the right direction, the pressure meter indicator is going up, otherwise it should be stop to do immediate inspection, if change of phase is necessary, please refer to P.47, section 4-3 to carry out. 2. 43 3. Make sure the ON, OFF function of the NC power is functional. 4. Make sure each button s function is normal. 5. To turn the sliding table with manual button, make sure the lubricant has been sent. 6. The restore action of the executing point, make sure it is under normal condition. 7. Turn the revolution speed adjusting button of the drive axle to the minimum position; make sure the function of every button on the drive axle unit are normal. 8. To make sure the interlock device of the safety gate is functional and normal. 9. Make sure other buttons function is under normal condition. 10. 44 6. SETTING AND ADJUSTING TNL-100ALII, -120ALII AND -130AII 6.1. Hydraulic Pressure adjustment As for the hydraulic unit to supply the hydraulic chuck and tailstock mounted on the back of machine. The more detail hydraulic drawing please refer page Normally, the hydraulic pump output pressure will be setted on 25 kg/cm The tailstock pressure will be decrease through release valve. If the tailstock no using that the pressure can adjust on 8-10 kg/cm 2. if using that the pressure will be increased. If on cutting, the process way can not be cut from spindle head to tailstock. 3. The spindle chuck force depends on the hydraulic cylinder and through the release valve to adjust the pressure. Normally, it is set on 15 kg/cm 2 but can be adjusted on different workpiece. If the workpiece clamp not properly, it is very dangerous. When the spindle orientation, please make sure to close the door. Attention: Referring Manual a. Chuck Assembly As for the hydraulic chuck, we have mounted on the machine before delivery. We will offer the hydraulic chuck operator manual supplied by maker. Please pay an attention the operator manual before you use the chuck. If you take out the chuck then remount please refer the operator manual. Warning! If the chuck mount on the spindle not properly, it is very dangerous sometime it will cause the workpiece ejection. CRASH, TROUBLE SHOOTING EXPLANATION: Location Pin for Tool Turret: Size and quantity:-dia 10 30L 2 pieces. Function: When there was crash of machine and resulted in positioning miss alignment, please release the secure screws of the turret. Put in these two location pins to adjust the degree of the tool dish. After the alignment is recovered, secured the screws of the turret. 46 6.3. Lubricator setting The automatic lubricator unit mount on the back of machine and it will automatic to add the oil. Please make sure that every hole has the oil, if not please by manual. Please check the lubricator tank, if below the level please add the 6.4. Spindle Belt Adjustment If the belt is too tight that it will reduce the transmission effective, increase friction, reduce the belt lift. If the belt too loose that it will cause the belt slip and reduce the effection. The proper tight and loose for the belt is very important. How to adjust the belt; please refer the process as below: 1. Turn off the power and lock by key on off 2. Take of the plate cover 3. Re lease the motor frame bolt 4. Adjust the motor frame and let the belt proper tight and loose 5. Tight the fix bolt 6. Tight the adjust bolt 7. Check the belt parallel 8. Mount the plate cover 9. Check everything is O.K. then power on Warning: When adjusting the belt please pay an attention to power off. 47 7. MAINTENANCE TNL-100ALII, -120ALII AND -130AII 7.1. General Maintenance 1. Avoiding the sun direct on the machine to effect the accuracy. 2. Installing the machine on dry and air place. 3. Far away the machine on the fork, welding machine. 4. Avoiding the machine splash by filter water and air coolant. 5. Avoiding the lubricating oil from un-appointed brand. 6. Avoiding the clamp work piece by bump. 7. After working please clear the machine and power off Every Day Maintenance 1. After working for everyday, please polish the anti-rusted oil. 2. Starting for everyday, please check every level gauge, if less please add. 3. Lubricating Oil and Hydraulic Oil For keeping the machine accuracy, please keep the oil level. Please checking the oil was appointed by maker. Lubricating Unit The lubricating tank was mounted on the back of machine and automatic to supply the oil every 3-6 C.C./15 minutes to "X" and "Z" slide. If the machine stop running for a long time before starting please supply the oil by manual. When adjust the drain oil, please loose the stop bolt. For keeping the best status, please follow the lubrication task. 49 7.3. Every Week Maintenance 1. The filter on the electric cabinet has to clear every week. If the working surround is very dirty, please reduce the clearing time Every Half Year Maintenance 1. Checking every connector and make sure correctly. 2. When the electric power off, every memory will be stored by battery. If the battery light on that you have to change the new battery. When changing the battery, it has to the power on otherwise the memory will lose Every Year Maintenance 1. The machine level has to check for first three months then every year have to check again. Oil Maintenance a. If the oil contains the water, it has to separate. b. If the hydraulic oil long time to use, it has to change the new oil. c. The pump inlet of filter has to clear. d.
