Through the SMRP Approved Provider Education Program, Industry Partners gain an additional level of acknowledgement for their education and training offerings, while helping practitioners feel confident they are receiving quality training. Program Requirements SMRP Approved Providers are expected to: Provide quality content related to the SMRP s BoK (see Appendix) and/or Asset Management Landscape, Second Edition (see Appendix) Provide clearly stated, measurable learning objectives. Provide qualified, professional and knowledgeable course instructors. Provide a learning environment that is conducive to continuing education (e.g. must include opportunity for Q&A with instructors) Offer continuing education course hours to participants. Provide informative and professional marketing materials, as well as course handouts. Provide professional logistics Program Benefits SMRP Approved Providers receive a number of benefits. SMRP Approved Providers will: Be recognized by maintenance and reliability practitioners and other Industry Providers as having quality physical asset management continuing education courses. 3 Guide Application Supporting Documentation SMRP requires all applicants to submit supporting documentation that describes the proposed educational offering(s). The following documentation is required: 1 Marketing materials 2 Program agenda 3 Instructor Qualifications 4 Learning objectives/evaluation 5 Course environment 6 Certificate (if applicable) Marketing Materials Applicants must submit marketing materials for review. Materials include, but are not limited to, course brochures, flyers, certificates, etc. Drafts of materials will be accepted at the time of application, but must be finalized, submitted and approved by SMRP within 30 days of approval. Program Agenda Program agendas should include a content outline that demonstrates the course(s) applicability to the subjects covered in SMRP s BoK and/or the Asset Management Landscape, Second Edition. Instructor Qualifications SMRP reviews instructor qualifications when considering applications. Applicants should submit the course instructor(s) resume, including credentials. All instructors should be qualified and knowledgeable in physical asset management and maintenance and reliability. Learning Objectives Proposed course(s) should have clear, measurable learning objectives that are advertised to not only SMRP, but to attendees. Course Environment All proposed courses must be conducive to continuing education, meaning that each course must include the opportunity for question and answer sessions and teacher/ student interaction. Certificate Approved Providers are encouraged to provide course attendees with certificates or statements verifying attendance. The following information should be included: attendee name, course title and number of course hours. The certificate or other documentation should reflect that the course has been approved by SMRP. Calculating Course Hours SMRP reviews the number of proposed course hours for each training course to determine the appropriate Approved Provider Tier. One hour of education is equal to 1 course hour. This does not include overlapping lectures, breaks, lunches, dinners, evaluation time, etc. Training that includes a fractional part of an hour less than 45 minutes will not be awarded 1 full course hour (e.g. 3.5 hours of training is awarded 3 course hours; 3.75 hours of training is awarded 4 course hours) Course hours are evaluated based on the number of hours awarded to participants, no matter the number of participants or the frequency of the course. (e.g. An applicant offering a 6 hour course to 60 people, 4 times per year should apply for 6 course hours.) Application Evaluation Process SMRP will evaluate all incoming applications against the Approved Provider Education Program requirements. These include: Course content Learning objectives Instructor qualifications Learning environment Marketing and course materials Course delivery and logistics Applications that do not meet the above criteria will be denied. Detailed information on the above criteria may be found on page 1 of this guide. Commitment to Confidentiality In addition to its primary function of providing association management services for SMRP and other associations, the Kellen Company maintains the confidentiality of highly sensitive corporate data. Confidential information received through the SMRP Approved Provider Education Program will be placed in secured, limited-access Kellen Company files. No individual company data is ever deposited in any Associations files (which are distinctly separate from the files of the Kellen Company) or made available to any Association members. For more than 40 years, the Kellen Company has been collecting sensitive and confidential data from hundreds of companies, including many on the Fortune 500 list. You can be assured that any corporate data provided in confidence to SMRP and the Kellen Company will be kept confidential.

4 Guide Program Fees SMRP Approved Providers are required to pay an annual licensing fee of $1,000. Renewal of the annual license is due by July 1 each year. The program runs on an annual basis from July 1 to June 30. Additionally, fees will be assessed based on the total number of course hours offered from approved courses. Fee Structure Annual License $1,000 Tier 1: 1-60 course hours $500 Tier 2: course hours $600 Tier 3: course hours $700 Tier 4: course hours $800 Tier 5: 151+ course hours $900 Once licensed, Approved Providers may apply for approval of additional training courses. Fees will be assessed accordingly, depending on whether the incremental courses result in the company moving to a higher course hours tier. For example, Company A is approved for three courses awarded 30 course hours in July Company A pays at total of $1,500 (licensing fee and Tier 1 course hours fee). In October, the company applies for and receives approval for five additional courses awarded a total of 40 course hours. Company A will owe SMRP an additional $100 the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2. All fees are valid from July 1 to June 30. Program Valid Dates and Expiration Each approved course is valid for the program year. Approved status expires upon the passing of the program year (e.g. If you apply on July 1, 2015, you will be a designated Approved Provider until June 30, 2016; if you apply on April 15, 2016, you will be a designated Approved Provider until June 30, 2016). Organizations may renew their course approval by submitting a new application with appropriate fees. SMRP Monitoring Process SMRP will monitor Approved Providers on an on-going basis to ensure course value and effectiveness. All Approved Providers must agree to submit to a possible audit of course materials and other program information.
