2 Enjoying a good bottle of wine has become a very important part of our meal, especially when we are laid back and not hurried. A couple of years back we asked a friend of ours a well-known wine guru which he thought was the very best wine in the world. Expecting the name of some grand old chateau, he answered with a question, Which is your favourite wine?. We replied mentioning our favourite wine at the time, to which he answered Well there you are. Simple as that. Wine is simple. Like everything else in life, it is a matter of personal choice which can be enhanced by being adventurous and trying out new ones. It is often the connoisseurs and sommeliers who complicate things and sometimes scare us away. We have brought together a selection of some 150 wines to begin with, ranging widely in style, colour, origin and price. Many of these you will know. Several others not. Whilst we hope that you find your very best wine in the world in our list, we encourage you to try new ones and compare, and in time you will hopefully have many very best wines. Apart from browsing through the list, we invite you to go over to our glass cave at the back end of the restaurant, where you can browse through our selection, even taste our wines of the week, seeking help from our wine waiter until you find a bottle to suit your taste and match your food at the right price.
