18 Technical Side 1. From the Veeam console, a command to the SAN is initiated through the StoreVirtual API 2. The SAN issues a SmartClone of the requested snapshot 3. The snapshot is promoted to a read-only volume 4. and presented to the VMware Hypervisor 5. Veeam initiates a recovery operation through vsphere VADP (data protection API) 6. When the recovery has succeeded, Veeam initiates a clean-up process to the hypervisor and the SAN.! Recovery Time of MINUTES instead of HOURS!
