5 ASBESTOS / PRODUCT Asbestos is widely used in Serbia, while in most developed countries, with the exception of Canada which is a major manufacturer, its use is prohibited. Asbestos in Serbia is rife in the building used for making pipes and roofing, as well as insulation in ships. 5

6 ASBESTOS / PRODUCT Cobest factory was founded in 1935 in Beogadu called YUGOSLAV Asbestos AD, in cooperation with the German company Feodor BURGMANN Asbestos-und Packungswerke DRESDEN. The factory produces seals for general purpose, mass and isolation materials, asbestos cords and tapes and other related insulation materials. Asbestos AD dislocated from Belgrade to Mladenovac in 1946, where the needs of future production completed construction of production facilities of 3000 m2.
